"This is the absolute worst customer service experience that I have ever received. Purchased 4 hours of yard work on Living Social from TruBlue Total House Care in Nazareth, PA for $125.

Countless left voicemails later (this person does not answer their phone and insists that all voicemails will be returned in 30 minutes) and emails later, I have yet to schedule an appointment. We're not talking about a week, we're talking about over the course of months!

Living Social has basically washed their hands of the entire thing saying that they have no problem reaching the vendor. How is this company still in business?

"LivingSocial is now promoting a duct cleaning scam in Chicago, IL. I bought a voucher through LivingSocial for "Cleaning of all air ducts, HVAC inspection, and dryer vent cleaning" for $69 on August 21, 2012. Today is November 13, 2012. Three canceled appointments later, they still haven't showed to perform the service. Twice, I was stood up, waiting at home for them to show up. The third time, I called the day before to confirm. Sure enough, they called me back, needing to reschedule. This is a scam. LivingSocial doesn't take responsibility for it, either. Had to hold for 25 minutes just to talk to a live person. My solution: I brought the scam to the attention of my bank, and they are going to reverse the charges. I hope Fresh Air Duct Services and LivingSocial go out of business--the sooner the better for consumers.

"Living Social was offering a $50 voucher for the cost of $25 to MusiciansFriend.com in November of 2012. Although they state that it's a voucher, it is revealed that you are actually just purchasing a coupon code after you've made your payment to Living Social. And even worse, they do not list that the coupon codes are ineligible in 5 to 8 states until AFTER you make your purchase (it's not listed in the fine print). But to make matters worse, Musician's Friend, a daughter company of Guitar Center, will not honor these codes! Guitar Center itself does not recognize Living Social deals anymore either. Living Social is comprised of a bunch of crooks!"

"Under policy LivingSocial is supposed to refund my purchase if the third-party company goes out of business. I purchased a voucher for some cleaning services and the cleaning company never called me back when I tried multiple times to schedule. LivingSocial said, "They are not out of business, their staff is in the hopsital...." I never heard that from the cleaning company, they never called, that's just what LivingSocial said so they wouldn't have to pay me back."

"What kind of company doesn't give a refund after a devastating hurricane hits - Livingsocial.com!!! A place that I had bought a deal for had to close due to the hurricane - so I called LivingSocial to get a refund but I was told that I was not eligible for a full refund as I bought the deal more than 24 hours ago. Had a known we'd be hit with an ACT OF GOD then I wouldn't have purchased it. I have never in all my life experienced such poor customer service. Ever."

"I live in the United States, I received an email offer for a Banksy decal for $25, plus $12.99 delivery. I freakin' love Banksy so I bought it right away!
When I went to order it I noticed that the International shipping was $34.99. International? The vendor was in Australia.
So I wrote a nice email to livingsocial explaining that I do not live in Australia, and that I am not going to use this coupon and to please refund it and, by the way, it not say Australia anywhere on the offer/coupon and why am I getting offers for Australia anyway.
Over the course of several emails I learned that the offer was for Australia, and that since I was outside of the 5 day window for refunds I was not going to get a refund. Also that email contained two customer service phone numbers for my convenience; one for Australian residents and one for New Zealand residents. ? So I again asked for an exception since I DON'T LIVE IN AUSTRALIA. The policy was cut and pasted, the Australia glitch was never addressed.
This is terrible customer service, Answer the question, address the problem, help the customer. The former customer.

"Purchased a Living Social deal for carpet cleaning with 3D Carpet & Tile Services in Juloy, 2012. Voucher is valid until 1/19/13, however, I have been unable to schedule my carpet cleaning as the vendor does not even call me back. So, I requested a refund of $57.00 from Living Social and they refused, but instead want to give me deal bucks! Unacceptable! The fact is, Living Social sold me a service that is totally worthless and now won't refund my money! WARNING: DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH LIVING SOCIAL "

"Same sad experience as many people. Business was unable/unwilling to perform the service I purchased, when I requested a refund from livingsocial, I continually received a robo response via email. When I called customer service, a very polite professional young lady continually gave me a robo response that I did not qualify for a refund under their policies. When I asked to speak to her supervisor she continually,'politely and professionally," kept ignoring my request. When I continually asking why she was ignoring my request to speak to her supervisor. She 'politely and professionally" hung up on me. (note the sarcasm.)since they are unwilling to accomadate my request for refund, I will be disputing the charges to my credit card. I urge anyone who has has issues with Livingsocial to do the same. Believe me they do not what to get too many disputed charges or they will lose their standing with their merchant bank."

"UNBELIEVABLY BAD SERVICE!!! Myself and my partner booked a simple carpet cleaning service through Living Social using ABC carpet cleaning in Birmingham in April 2012. Once the voucher was bought we tried contacting Jimmy at ABC cleaning on countless occasions. On the rare times that Jimmy answered the phone it was very clear he had no time for customers using Living Social as in his own words it wasnt worth his time as he was making a loss going through Living Social. On 2 occasions he even hung up on us!! After several months when we were reaching the end of our thether and told him we would write reviews online about his lack of service he eventually made an appointment several months down the line. We were happy we finally had an appointment. However come the time of the appointment he asked if he could come a day early as he was in the area. No problem we said and we re-arranged our schedule to fit him in. At the new appointment time however he simply didnt turn up and didnt call. I called him on his mobile and he immediately asked if he could call back in 2 minutes. 2 minutes later we had a text stating he forgot to put it in his book - Sorry. We said ok, lets stick to the original appointment time then. Predictably this was no good for him and we were back to square 1. After 6 months of chasing this very simple service we decided to contact Living Social (We had made a complaint to them already about our lack of service). We spoke to Marlon who after hearing a re-gurgitation "If you will look at section 6 of the terms and conditions" and "well you need to arrange an appointment with the merchant" over and over, we were told Living social would not under any circumstances give any refund and there were no supervisors at all available for me to be referred to. This is genuinely the first review I have ever felt the need to broadcast online, and being 35 years old have never had an experience as bad as that with Living Social and ABC services. I would highly recommend both services be avoided at all costs and suspect I am not the first, or the last to be manipulated by these "businesses". We feel so let down and have simply had money taken from us with no service received in any form whatsoever. The definition of theft is to dishonestly take property from another with the intention of permanently depriving them of it. I think this comes pretty close. Please, save yourself the stress and go through a business with a decent reputation and one which will actually give you something for the money they will take off you."

"Purchased three separate days of cleaning service in my town, and upon attempting to schedule a date of the first service, I was informed that the company did not service my area of town. Not only did Living Social refuse to refund my money, but insulted me by offering their "deal dollars" which were restricted to only certian purchases. This is the supreme scam. "

"GLITZY WEBSITE BUT DISREPUTABLE AND DISHONEST COMPANY

They won't refund my money even if I never received the item I thought I had bought. I misunderstood the voucher system and thought the paint sprayer would be sent to me as soon as I paid for the voucher. I waited patiently for several weeks for the item to be shipped to me. When it didn't arrive, and after I had already bought one at Home Depot because I needed it soon, I researched into why the delivery was not being made. It was only then that I understood that I had to retrieve the voucher from an email, print it, then forward that to the seller. Since I didn't see the email because I wasn't expecting it, I just kept waiting for the seller to confirm my purchase and send it to me. I've never dealt with a more convoluted system of purchasing something online!

I have tried (in vain) explaining this to Joel at Customer Service twice, i.e. why the 7-day refund window does not apply to my case because I was not cancelling my order but waiting for it to arrive, I do not have the item in my possession, and there is no way Living Social can justify confiscating my money and keeping it because I did not receive anything worth $50 in return from them.

I plan to take my case to the Office of the Attorney General, to the media, and all over the internet via consumer websites that rate businesses (I will join the dozens of sorry customers who have also been gypped by this company). I don't know who is actually reading this feedback, but I hope it gets to someone in Living Social with the authority to help me and who actually reads it and does something about it. This is just wrong and should not be happening in the U.S.A. (or even in a third world country!)

UPDATE: After writing this review and sending their Customer Service several very irate emails refusing to accept "No" for an answer, I finally received an email from "Diane" this morning saying: "Thanks for following up with us. We're sorry this purchase didn't work out for you. Your refund request has been processed and, depending on your banking institution, will be posted to your account within three to five business days." Justice prevails!

"Deplorable customer service. Buy anything here at your own risk.

I had a voucher expire on me earlier than expected (their email was misleading) and I got nothing but robo-responses when asking for a refund. My second support request was ignored completely.

"Beware: Merchants are allowed to change the deal you purchase and Living Social will NOT do anything about it.

Here's my experience: I purchased an online Living Social deal for two lunch combinations at a local restaurant. A matter of weeks after I purchased the deal, I went to the restaurant to use the voucher. The restaurant was closed with a sign on the door that said they no longer serve lunch, and directed me to a different restaurant in a different part of the city that would honor the voucher. When I went to the other restaurant a few weeks later, they told me they would not honor the voucher. I then went back to the first restaurant and was told that they would give me the dollar value I purchased the voucher for toward food for dinner. In other words, I would receive no discount and have to buy a more expensive dinner instead of lunch.

I called Living Social, explained the situation and asked for a refund since the restaurant was no longer willing to honor the deal I purchased. I was told that I could not get a refund as it was past the refund period (even though the voucher had not yet expired). After asking for clarification, I was told that once the refund period has expired, any merchant can change give you a different deal than what you purchased and Living Social will not give you a refund unless the merchant has gone out of business.

Unfair and unethical policies such as this will surely keep me from using this website again.

"Hello Lauren x7009

Thank you for your aweful service...
your so called "customer care" title should be removed immediately...AND as far as you being the only person to escalate my issue to in all of Living Social?? Hmmm, Ive already written to the CEO of company.

After reading the reviews from other customers posted all over so many sites from all around the world about LS services it is more than crystal clear that I am one of thousands that has a complaint about your
lack of customer care and the LS site in general. The reviews speak for themselves - they are all Negative!

You were absolutely no help, did not resolve the issue and provided NO customer care - the advertisment for ISO Beauty Hair Dryers was 100% misleading.
The Deal Ad showed the ISO Beauty site where there were several dryers to choose from - after finding one, I purchased the voucher - nowhere on the deal ad did it mention there were limitations??
Upon receiving the voucher - the site to choose the product from changed!!! the hair dryer I originally bought the voucher for was not included!! Whoever wrote this ad for you, should be investigated! It doesnt make any sense. There were no limitations to the hair dryer products on the Deal Ad !! And why would you post the ISO main site where there is a broader selection of dryers??

This is totally misleading! AND BAD Business!!

I will post this message all over the place on the net and report you to the better business bureau - all your other Living Social EX customers are already there; ISO Beauty Co. is hearing about
about this case too
The fact that you could not even offer up one solution to keep me as a customer is disgusting and you called youself the manager with no other persons to speak with.
Nevermind the Deal ad anymore - Im stuck with it - but more importantly, you have absolutely no experience in customer care or how to keep customers returning!
Apparently you missed training day on "How NOT to loose the Customer"
Too bad for Living Social !! No wonder all the complaints

"Living Social SUCKS!!!! I have never been treated so poorly by any customer service department - EVER! They shut off my account access because THEY charged some of my purchases to someone elses credit card. Then, after a weeks worth of wasted time with them and my bank on the phone, I have to prove to them by showing old bank statements for purchases I made months ago (even for coupons I've already redeemed!). To top it off, after I finally prove THEY were wrong (they made charges to a Mastercard (I don't own a MC), they reinstate my account but only for me to discover they took back credit that was owed to me ($28). WTF?!!! Now, I have to call them back AGAIN (I was really not wanting to ever speak to them again) to find out why they took back my $28! It's the principal of it!!!! Worst customer service ever...they never would take accountablilty for THEIR clear mistake!"
