"Hutch arrived with mfr defect. Called ATG immediately (6/24/2011) while ABF delivery was at my house to get replacement item. Was told item was ordered that day. Had to call ATG two weeks later for status of replacement. Item was NOT ORDERED on 6/24 as stated. New order was placed when I called July 8th. Notified via email 7/29 that order was being shipped 7/30/2011. Called ATG 8/3/2011 to verify item shipped and told that freight company reported the item damaged is damaged also. Yet again another item has to be ordered. This is the THIRD hutch that is supposed to be shipped. I have had to constantly call ATG Customer Service for re-orders, updates, etc.

8/16/11 UPDATE: I have been contacted by Jennifer, C/S @ ATG. She was very responsive and was able to resolve the issue I had with ATG. I was impressed!

"I don't even know how to begin to express my disgust with this company. I didn't think it was possible for a company to be so deceitful, sketchy, and downright dishonest, but believe me, ATG stores has sunk to the lowest of low depths. If I could give negative stars as a rating, I would, but the lowest we can give is 1/5.

First, like pretty much everyone else on this site, my order was delayed multiple times. I ordered a bed frame, dresser, and mirror for my bedroom on 5/18/11. My credit card was charged immediately. The website stated that the items were in stock, and the original ship date was 5/22/11. Well, on 5/25/11 I got a delayed ship date notification, saying the new ship date was 6/01/11. Well, that date came and passed, and then the new ship date was 6/14/11. Guess what? That date came and passed, and then the new ship date was 6/16/11. Then...well, you guessed it. Another delayed ship date, this time 6/22/11. At this point, only of the the three items was even supposed to ship on 6/22/11 (the bed frame). The dresser and mirror had been deemed out of stock until 7/11/11. WTF? When I placed the order, over a month ago at that point, they were in stock. Furthermore, my credit card had been charged for everything already. To say the very least, I was livid that the company had clearly lied to me about the availability of the items, charged my credit card already, and then had the audacity to keep pushing the ship date indefinitely into the future. Fortunately, after a couple hours on the telephone, I was able to cancel those other two delayed items. I thought things would get easier from there, since there was only one item left (the bed frame) to deal with. Boy, was I wrong.

After the ridiculous number of delays, the bed frame has supposedly finally shipped (over a month and a half late), and yet, ATG has also chosen a sketchy shipping company that is delaying my order, too! Remember how the bed frame was supposed to "ship" on 6/22/11? Well, I went the the shippers website, and all it said about my order status was "called, no answer". Yes, seriously, that is what it said. I thought I'd give the shipping company the benefit of the doubt, but a week later, it had the same status. So at this point, I called ATG, because honestly, the customer shouldn't have to hound the company to do it's job, and I did not want to deal with the shippers yet. The person I spoke with at ATG promised me that they would contact the shipping company to find out what was going on, and then email and call me to confirm that they did it. Needless to say, I never received an email or a phone call.

Here's the thing with ATG: they are just middlemen, in the worse possible way. They import the furniture from other companies, then contract other companies to ship the furniture. They don't pick reputable, reliable companies, either. This business model sucks because with so many people in the supply chain, no one is held accountable, b/c they can always blame the delays on "the manufacturer" or "the shipper". I feel like ATG has absolutely no incentive to ever even get my items to me, because they've already charged my credit card.

I am truly shocked that a company can even conduct business in such a poor and dishonest manner. At this point, I've even stopped hoping that my items will make it to me in the next few months. I wish I could cancel my order, but because it's already on the shipper's freight truck, I cannot. What I'm hoping for now is that the BBB will hear my complaint (you better believe I'm taking this to them) and this company will get shut down for fraudulent business.

"My experience with ordering from this website has put me on alert and wishing I had read the reviews. It was important for me to order a ceiling fan for florida room for my daughter's graduation party. The ship date was quoted for 6/23/11, however when I checked on my shipment today, there was a note on my order that it was back-logged until September. Note a phone call or notice - don't tell me to look in my spam folder, there was no notice. You charged my account on June 11, good customer service requires a phone call when ordering a fan at the beginning of the summer but not going to get it until the fall. I've cancelled my order, but my confirmation is telling me: Cancellation Request: 1 qty of 5216052 by Concord Fans
This email is to confirm that we have received your request for cancellation. We will send you an email once we have confirmed your cancellation. Cancellations are not valid until confirmed. I DID NOT ORDER A FAN WITH AN AGREEMENT TO WAIT UNTIL SEPTEMBER TO GET IT. I ORDERED A FAN WITH AN AGREEMENT THAT I WOULD GET IT IN JUNE. If this is the customer service you dish out, then I will never use your company again.

"DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE BOGUS AND NEED TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS! DEPLORABLE, DEPLORABLE SERVICE BY EVERYONE I SPEAK WITH, NO ONE DOES WHAT THEY SAY THEY'RE GOING TO DO. They will bill your credit card as soon as they take your order whether the item is in stock or not (they will say instock even tho it's not). THEN the waiting begins, forever. You will get the run-around of your life from these people. when I finally got my item, it was defective and now I start this process all over again. This is the worst customer service I have ever received in my life. Please see the previous review written by "woljostu", my situation is almost identical to what they've gone thru. There are plenty of reputable online stores out there to deal with, this IS NOT one of them.
Hey Taryn from PR, If customer service is soooo important to you, why don't you email me? Get in contact with your customers, don't expect us to be hunting you down..Do the right thing.

"I ordered a Framburg chandelier from ATG Stores on 3/22/2011. My debit card was charged the full amount of my purchase ($596.00)on 3/24/2011. My order was confirmed as available. However, I was notified on 3/25/2011 that my order was back ordered with an expected ship date of 4/30/2011.The ship date was amended to 5/5/2011 on 4/29/2011. On 5/10/2011 I was informed that my ship date was to be on 5/13/2011. The next delay was communicated to me on 5/23/2011. The new ship date was to be on 5/26/2011. You guessed it on 5/26/2011 I was informed of my new ship date of 5/31/2011. On 5/27/2011 was sent an e-mail with my scheduled freight pick up date, however, on 5/31/2011 I was informed that there would be a further shipping delay. I called the company and requested a cancellation of the order. My customer service representative told me that it could not be cancelled because it had been shipped. I requested a cancellation because I had been informed that it had not shipped. Antoine said he would place me on hold at check with the manufacturer. I held for over 21 minutes and was hung up on. I called back and spoke with Michelle who said she would check initiate the cancellation but that it would require 3-5 days to ascertain whether or not the item had shipped before I would receive a credit.I asked to be connected with a supervisor and commenced to be placed on hold while one was located. After 30 minutes I was disconnected. I called back and spoke with Mike. He informed me that a cancellation request had been initiated but that it would be 3-5 days for the manufacturers certification and then an additional 8 days before my account would be credited. I said that was unacceptable because everyone had already verified that the chandelier had not shipped asked for a supervisor or an address for the company, a legal representative or company officer. Mike gave me a false address for the company and while starting to give me names for the company or CEO hung up on me in mid-sentence.
Much of our shopping is done on the internet and I am shocked by the behavior exhibited by this company. In my experience most reputable companies do not charge my account until they are ready to perform.
Although I did not expect to speak directly to MR. Gary Rubens,CEO or Mr. Brad Halbach, VP-Operations, I sincerely believed that someone, at some level of responsibility, would be able to address to my concerns. Since that does not seem to be possible, I will begin on the first day of June,2011 to make complaints to any and all state and federal government agencies which regulate commerce in Washington and Missouri because I feel that I am being willfully deceived by Allied Trade Group.

"Mistake! Mistake! Don't order from this site. I placed an order which should have arrived in 5 days. It took almost 2 weeks to arrive. The item had some of its parts missing. I called ATG and spent an hour on hold, searching for the missing part. I was given a telephone number to a Galaxy showroom in search of the missing part number. I, then called ATG again and was instructed to return the item (considered defective). Now, I'm waiting again for the order. I will reschedule installation for the third time. Next time, I'll just buy directly from a store. It's not worth the trouble!!!!!

I must add an addendum to this review. Taryn W. quickly came to the rescue. She has worked closely with me on the replacement process. I must say she has been on top of things and has restored my faith in the whole on-line technology. I believe I will try this again. All matters are now resolved and I am no longer disappointed so I shall sign off...

"OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!! Do not do business with this store!!
Like all of the other reviews say, they suck!! I never received the $185.00 faucet that they charged me for, and with several phone calls and emailings, I still got no help!! I am going to call the manufacturer of the product that I purchased and am going to refer them to this review site so that they can see what kind of store is advertising and selling for them. I would recommend anyone else who has had an awful experience with this company to do the same.

"SIMPLY HORIBLE experience. DON'T believe any so called good faith response from the atg personnel. DO believe every single bad review you see about the atg sites.. I WISH I had red all these reviews before making a decision to buy from them - would have saved me so much time and frustration. My much shortened story is - they never refunded me money after I returned them the WRONG table that they sent me.. Than go lies, lies, and lies from they reps (as in other stories).. I ended up disputing the charge through my credit card."

"I give ATGstores.com a Negative 5 stars. I really wish I had done my homework and researched this company BEFORE I placed my order...Shame on me for not doing so because I am most definitely paying the price for it now. I was referred to ATG by a local furniture sales rep in Atlanta after she informed me the bedroom dresser I wanted had been discontinued and they no longer had any in stock. I initially contacted ATG to order the dresser, which the site indicated had 3 in stock. I found out later the same day I placed my order they didn't have any more available. I decided to order a buffet to use in place of the dresser. The site indicated they had 4 in stock. Since I had been told the other pieces from the collection had been discontinued I asked the sales rep to contact the manufacturer or someone within ATG to confirm that the item was available and in stock. The sales rep called me back within 15 minutes and told me he had confirmed the item was available and in stock and would ship in 2-3 days. I repeatedly asked if he was certain the item was available and even explained how I had been told the collection had been discontinued. He assured me he had spoken to a rep at the manufacturer and the item was in stock and would ship. LIE #1!!!!! When I initially contacted the company to place my order the sales reps couldn’t have been more helpful and courteous. As problems started to surface the level of service deteriorated drastically. I was forced into a screaming match with one rep and hung up on by at least 3 others. The "customer service" staff was RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!!! And not at all service oriented. From that point forward I (like other customers who have posted comments) have been lied to repeatedly, misled, deceived and hung up on. I have contacted ATG on several occasions and have had the "pleasure" of speaking to Lindsay, Ron, Larry, Belinda, Jason, Cheryl, Drew and Adam....all of which have given me the run around. When I requested to speak with a manager or supervisor on various occasions I was repeatedly told one was not available. I waited on hold for 23 minutes one day to finally speak to a supervisor. Belinda connected me with Drew. I called back later to follow up with this "individual" about the conversation we had; when I asked for the person by name, I was told "no one by that name worked there"...when I asked for the persons extension I had been given I was told the extension did not exist. I waited for a month to receive the shipping confirmation. I've called for updates and have been told that the manufacturer, Zocalo, has not made the item available for pick up. For several weeks everyone I spoke to told me they had to call California to speak to a rep at Zocalo to figure out why the buffet had not been released for pick up for the shipping co. After several calls of this nature, I spoke to Larry who told me he would have to call South Carolina to speak to someone at Zocalo. I have no idea how they went from calling CA to SC for the same company but when I asked Larry to explain the discrepancy in the info I had been given, he got quite irritated with me and hung up on me. After getting the run around for a month, I finally gave up and per the recommendation of a snippy customer service rep I cancelled my order. I was told I would receive a full refund...no more questions asked or additional info needed. I was grateful for the tip, thinking and hoping that would end my interaction with ATG for good!! I couldn’t' have been more wrong. After waiting more than a week for the refund to post to my account, I called and was told they had to wait to contact the manufacturer to make sure the item had not shipped!! I was livid!!! The reason I cancelled my order in the 1st place was BECAUSE the item had not shipped as promised. I was told "someone" would contact me in a day or 2 or I would receive an e-mail regarding my refund. I've still not heard back from ATG or anyone within customer service about my $735 refund!!!!! This site needs to be shut down immediately before they rip off any more people. I've already started a dispute claim with my bank and will be contacting the BBB asap!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE FULL OF CRAP and total SCAMMERS!!!!!!! "

"HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service! Buyer beware! They sent me a duplicate order after I had called to cancel it days before the item shipped out. They shipped it anyway and want me to return it at my cost. I tried e-mailing this customer service department and I never received a response so I then called their customer service department (waited on hold for 23 mins.) to try and remedy this situation and when I asked to speak with a manager I was hung up on! I tried to call back and they refused to let me speak with a manager or give me the name of the person I was speaking to. We just placed 3 orders totaling over $700. I am going to try my hardest to return all items because I want NOTHING to do with this HORRIBLE company. Please save your money, time, and grief and do not ever order from Lighting Universe/ATGstores.com!"

"Terrible merchant. Attempted to purchase $117 in merchandise that was supposed to be in stock. First attempt to pay with debit card gave me a reply that account could not be verified and was redirected to a website to verify my Chase Visa. Decided to use Paypal. Paypal payment confirmed and then I get a text from Chase saying payment approved. Now I have $237 in funds held and my invoice now reads items are discontinued and not available. Customer support puts me on hold for 5 minutes and comes back and tells me to wait 5 days for my funds to be released. Rediculous."

"Flat out awful. I purchased a Nameeks NG1 unit vanity unit. Unit was delivered by Federal Express. ATG expected my wife to take the vanity and sink out of the box all while the Fed Ex guy is waiting in our driveway. At least that is what they told me. I came back from work that night and found the unit had a hairline crack. They claim they could do crap for me. I charged back the $1900.00 on my credit card. Screw them. Avoid them, buyer beware."

"I buy lamps all the time as I am an Interior Designer I have never had such a bad experience as I have had with this company. Do not buy anything from this company!!!OMG I bought 2 table lamps one was faulty...the trouble I have gone through to replace this faulty light as well as the shocking customer service are enough for me. If you can buy your lights somewhere else do it. The people who work there are really RUDE and incompetent. It has taken me months to get a replacement lamp and they still have not sent the shade...not sure when that will happen. I had to take faulty light to UPS and call many times to get any service plus give credit card details in fax to pay for replacement light, I have never heard of this before.They still have not credited me for broken lamp...but they sure have charged me for replacement with no shade.I mean it is like a comedy show really....except it is not funny when it is you!!"

"Do not purchase from this company! I have never had so many problems with one company!! First, the wrong item was delivered. Even though the item's order number was matched my order but the item did not match the catalog description. First--the company was going to require that I pay return shipping and a restocking fee. After several phone calls, they agreed to a full refund. However, it's been two months with multiple phone calls and I have yet to receive a refund.

I was writing this while on hold, but was again told that my refund will be mailed within 48 hours.
