"FIrst, this is for Knobs and Hardware - I assume part of ATGstores. Second, the order process is okay except the customer is not told how the package will be shipped. Because this will be a large box and my mailbox is 2 miles away, if sent via US Mail, the post office will hold it. That's a 30 mile round trip. To avoid that, I have a P.O. Box at a much closer US Post Office location (don't ask, doesn't make sense to me either). However, if shipped via UPS or FedEx, they will deliver to the door. So, you can see why knowing the shipping method is important. Suggest that be added to the "Cart" information and that customers be given a choice of shipping method, if possible. "

"I ordered bar stools from ATG, and was unhappy with the comfort level. I attmepted to return me and was told that I could not return them because I had assembled them. How am I supposed to determine if I like my purchase if I can't try it out? This policy is bogus and should be redefined. I will not be shopping with ATG again."

"Unethical - Order at your own risk. I will never order from Lighting Universe again. After spending over $1000 dollars with Lighting Universe, one of the items in my order arrived damaged. After two calls to customer service, they finally agreed to send me a replacement free of charge. They provided me with what they called a Reference # and told me to expect the item to arrive within 1 week. A confirmation of the replacement order was sent to me via email the next day. After three weeks I had not received the item, so I contacted customer service again. They denied making a commitment to replace the item, and essentially accused me of lying. They refused to allow me to talk to a supervisor and told me there was nothing more they would do.

Based on my personal experience and what appears to be a consistent pattern of dishonest and/or fraudulent business practices, I plan to take up this matter with the Washington State Attorney General's office.

"I only recieved 9 of 10 handles that I ordered, only solution they would provide was to put a tracer out on Fed Ex, even though the item shipped UPS. Reversed the charge on my credit card and am moving on, will NEVER use this company again. TERRIBLE customer service."

"This is the most dishonest, unethical company I have ever come across. I ordered lights from them. When two of the three lights arrived, they weren't as advertised. The third light didn't arrive. I have spent countless hours on the phone trying to get an address where I can return the other lights. They said I can't just return them to the address where they came from or I'll be charged a restocking fee equal to the cost of the lights. They promised me a returned goods authorization within 30 days so I could return the two lights I did receive. It's been 90 days now and I've received no such promised authorization. These guys are lying, deceitful thieves. Don't do business with them!"

"Buying furniture from ATG can guarantee you the utmost frustrating experience ordering from a store, ranking right next to Home Depot! Just like buying from Home Depot, the staff from ATG has no clue where your order is, even though their system sent out multiple emails tell you your order has been shipped and even provide a tracking number. The reality is that, your stuff never left the store (a store that ATG doesn't own and manages). When you call, the employees are unhappy, you will be on hold for a while (make sure you have your coffee in hand) and the answers are always: "sorry, they have not shipped it out!""

"I have been trying for almost 40 days to correct a horrible situation created when my first attempt to order two lamps failed. I did not receive a receipt, or an order number, and in fact I got a message saying there was no such order. I tried again and the second time my order went through, I have a receipt and received confirmation from you. Just to be sure, I contacted your online chat person at customer service and the first person could not find any order from me at all. The second rep (Susan I believe) said she found two orders. I told her the first non-order hadn't gone through and it needed to be cancelled, if in fact she somehow had such an order from me. However, she said she couldn't help me even though my request to cancel was only hours after the original mishap. I later spoke with Scott on the telephone, your customer service rep, and he said he would have the lamps picked up and returned, with no expense to me, and in fact I received 3 emails from you confirming that you would contact me in 5-7 business days with further pickup instructions and a tracking number for the return package(s). That time has come and gone and you have not contacted me nor have you provided an address(es) for return or a tracking number. My numerous emails, phone calls and online chats have gone unanswered and unheeded. I am incurring interest on the $424.29 charge on my credit card since Sept. 4th, and in fact you now deny that you ever promised to pick up the packages at your expense, you blame Scott and Christy and every other person I talked to up until today and you now tell me everyone I spoke to did everything wrong and I need to pay for the return shipping charges myself -- for what reason I cannot possibly phathom -- as I have done everything in my power, starting within hours of the first non-order, and continuing for the last 40 days to get some confirmation from you of pickup instructions and a tracking number. It is obvious to me that you don't care if I ever get the merchandise back to you because you have your $424.29 and your continuous delays and denials of everything you promised me is getting exasperating and causing me much distress, in addition to interest charges on my credit card. Will you please pick up these lamps and return them without further charges to me--that is to say, no "restocking" fees or other surprise charges you will want to add on. "

"Stay away from ATG! Ordered a light fixture marked "in stock". A few days later I was notified that the item will not be shipped for more than a month. Then I found out that they still charged my credit card. Called to cancel an order, they tell me that they do not stock anything, that it was a manufacturer's fault that their stock info was not updated, and now they have to check with the manufacturer before they cancel an order, which will take 48 hours. I told them, that I did not deal with manufacturer, I ordered from ATG, got charged by ATG, and should be refunded by ATG, and their relationship with the manufacturer is their own issue, but they do not care. Instead of apology they just gave me a run around. There are plenty of other places to order light fixtures."

"Horrible! Horrible! Don't buy anything from this store. They have 100 online stores. Once you see ATGStores logo on that website, DON'T buy anything from them. I purchased a bed frame for my son. I contacted them when I found a bunch of black lines and spots on the natural color bed. I called them and asked for a pick up date. They issured me a RMA number on Sept.6. But never send you a call tag or arrange a pick up date. I've always been told that my RMA is in processing. According to their policy, it takes 5-7 days to receive a call tag after RMA number assigned. When I asked for a manager, they simply hung up on me. I called and emailed them many times, they keep saying it's still in processing. Just simply charge back or cancel it if you already placed your orders. Go to the other online stores if you do not place your orders with them yet. "

"I'm a big fan of ATG stores. Have had an opportunity to purchase items not available to me locally and am very impressed with their customer service department. Any problems I've had have been solved - that's a big plus for me. I plan to shop this site again when the next urge to remodel or renovate moves me. "

"Don't buy from them. You'll never get anything, just a bunch of promises. I ordered my sofa-bed 45 days ago - still nothing. If you happen to fall for their nice website, just open a charge back with your credit card company - you'll get your money back."

"Do not buy from ATG Stores dba Lighting Universe. Product ordered arrived late, damaged, and defective. Multiple calls to customer service were ineffective. Promised replacement, never came. Promised replacement parts (that I told them would not resolve the manufacuring defect). Asked to speak to a manager, told they were all in a meeting and could not be disturbed. Asked for a call back, never returned my call. Product was cheaply made, overpriced, poorly packaged, defective, with one part broken in two. Planning to box up the junk lighting fixture and send it to ATG's CEO Gary Rubins home address, then reverse credit card charges. Never buy from ATG Stores/Lighting Universe."

"I should have listened to other people review comments...
I received return tracking number and shipped my order back as directed. The order arrived at the warehouse on May 21st (I do have a delivery confirmation receipt). Called 3 weeks later, and was told that manufacturer will issue a refund in 3-7 business days. I assumed the issue is closed.
A few weeks later I noticed that no refund was posted to my CC. Called customer service to get a response, "We are following up with the manufacturer. The delay didn’t happen on our side, it's a manufacturer that should be blame." I didn’t buy a light from a manufacturer. I read the return policy and no where it was stated that the refund for the return product will depend on a manufacturer response.
My advice to everyone looking to use the website: think twice.
