"I purchased my s230u (Thinkpad Twist) on 20 Nov. Initial expected ship date was 12/13 - a long time, but I'm willing to wait. I keep checking the order status website, the expected ship date bounces all over the place, from 12/20 all the way to 1/31/13. On 12/14 I get an e-mail stating that my order has been delayed "but we anticpate shipment within 30 days of this notification."

Here's the skinny: it looks like anyone who wants a DECENT laptop and chose the "customize" button when ordering get the shaft. I have yet to see if Lenovo actually cusomizes laptop builds - I haven't read a single positive customer review on the topic.

Maybe our expectation that a LAPTOP MANUFACTURER would be able to produce a laptop in a timely fashion (under 60 days) set the bar way too high . . . regardless, I cancelled my order. I really wanted one of those new Windows 8 Convertible laptops, but it was more of a "want" than a "need". Screw you, Lenovo, you lost my business forever.

"Dont bother ordering a Lenovo...I ordered a tablet 10/2/2012 and it said 3-5 days to ship. Then it started...every 3-5 days they would change the estimated ship date out again. Finally after a month and half I got someone to say it may ship in mid Jan. 2013. The delay isnt as bad for me as the constant lying about the ship date. Either they are not to be trusted when they say something or they are so bad even they dont know what is going on. Save you time and effort and order somewhere else."

I ordered this laptop after my previous one got stolen and everything looked promising, price and shipping date but this is ridiculous
The only pro I can say for Lenovo is good specs for the price but I've never experienced worse customer service in my life

"You should be very careful if you want to buy a laptop from this company, Lenovo. They offer very attractive products, however, their customer service was very bad. No one answers your phone, and no reply from email. If you just buy a laptop, you don't need to return it, then good luck. Otherwise, you should stay away from the Company. Product shipment has been delayed. There is no date when they deliver the product. So far I have not received the laptop yet. There is no way to cancel my order."

"lenovo yoga 13
i really liked the product i tried it in bestbuy so i ordered it from lenovo. expected shipping 1/17/13.... yes over 2 months, from time of order, i called and gave them completely a chance to offer some kind of reassurance that it was going to be shipped sooner and i get a run around from some lying supervisor in India, i'm sure this is a good product but if you have any expectation of using it this year, sorry for you. I cancelled my order and went with a similar competitors product. I'm really disappointed in the company as a whole and will most likely never giving them a chance to have my business again.

"Avoid dealing with Lenovo at all costs!!! Lenovo is the most incompetent company I have EVER worked with. Dell used to have a bad reputation but Lenovo puts Dell to shame when it comes to horrible support. (Seriously, at this point I'd give Dell like 5/5 stars).
Ordering- fine it's a long process.
09/30/12 - ordered Y580 w/ 7200 rpm HDD (among other features)
10/26/12 - laptop shipped out
11/01/12 - received laptop
11/05/12 - found out that the touchpad is intermittently non-responsive
11/10/12 - it's becoming unbearable at this point, contact support, uninstalled drivers-- reinstalled, reinstalled windows. Reinstall windows was taking a while so he would call back "Monday".
11/11/12 - called back on Sunday which is fine I just wasn't expecting the call and missed it.. this forced me to call back in and talk to someone else.
11/12/12 - contacted support reinstalled drivers, I had to ship it to Lenovo for repair in TX
11/13/12 - shipped laptop for repair
11/19/12 - Lenovo received laptop
11/21/12 - laptop repaired, Lenovo sent it back (2 day fedex)
11/26/12 - I received laptop reproduced the problem I was having within 5 minutes of having it back. Checked work order. The repair they did was reinstalled drivers. I call back and they're paying for shipping. Took it that day to fedex it's being shipped to a NC location for repair. I thought this was odd.

I just can't get over that the repair they did after I paid for shipping was reinstall drivers... and then they sent the laptop back like seriously?!? They obviously have no history when receiving these things, otherwise they'd have known that this fix didn't work already.

"Lenovo; if ordering new make sure you order at least 2/3 months in advance. I ordered approximately 3 weeks in advance and shipping takes approx 2 weeks; be prepared to wait for this product. The product is constructed in China. All in all, takes about 4/6 weeks or more from start to finish. Those in a rush should be aware! Seems this is not the first time Lenovo has had problems.

No thanks/I canceled my order and ordered a US computer from a local company.

"6/12 - Customized and ordered a new Lenovo T420 laptop from lenovo.com, along with a few accessories. Estimated ship date of 6/15

6/13 - First accessory ships, estimated ship date for the laptop still 6/15

6/15 - Estimated ship date for the laptop still 6/15

6/16 - Second accessory ships, estimated ship date for the laptop is now the end of September. I've now been charged for and have two accessories in the mail for a laptop that isn't going to ship for over three months.

6/18 - After over two hours on hold with Lenovo customer service, somebody finally answers. They can't give any explanation for the sudden 3 month delay. I decide to order a similar model from the Lenovo outlet store instead and cancel my order on the phone, which goes through fine. I receive my cancellation confirmation, find a similarly-equipped T420S on the outlet store and order it. Estimated ship date of 6/19

6/20 - Receive an email notice letting me know my order has been delayed, no word on when it will actually ship

6/21 - Laptop is shipped

6/27 - Laptop is delivered! Open up the box...it has an international power plug and the keyboard isn't right. I finally find the model number buried in the corner, X220i, I ordered a T420S. I call customer support, and spend the next 15 minutes explaining to the rep that "yes, I know I ordered a T420S, I did not receive a T420S, I received an X220i". They look up the serial number of the machine I received, according to their systems that serial number belongs to a T420S. Because it's an outlet store order, they can't do an exchange, so she sends me a UPS shipping label to send the laptop back and tells me I'll have to order another one. She transfers me to the sales department, the sales guy finds a similarly-equipped T420S on the outlet store, confirms that it is indeed a T420S. It's about $60 more expensive than the last one because the outlet store discount has been reduced since I placed the previous order a week ago, he won't price match it. He places the order

6/28 - Laptop is shipped

7/4 – I send back the X220i

7/5 - Laptop is delivered! Open it up, another international power plug. Pull out the laptop, it's another X220i. I call customer support, explain that this is the second time this has happened, and my THIRD order in total. It's been over 3 weeks, my credit card has $2500 sitting on it from Lenovo, and I still have nothing to show for it. He tells me there must be some problem in manufacturing, and he'll send me an email within the next two days letting me know what they're going to do. I check the outlet store, there are more similarly-equipped laptops there, and the prices are even higher. It's now nearly $200 more to purchase a laptop with the same specs as my first outlet store order two weeks ago

7/11 – Three business days have passed, still nothing, contacted support asking about the status. The rep who I spoke to on 7/5 is unavailable so they will leave a message for him and he’ll get back to me

7/12 – Still nothing, contacted support again. They assure me that my original rep will get back to me by the end of the day “without fail”

7/13 – Still nothing, contacted support again. This time the rep bypassed the original rep and set me up with an RMA number and shipping label to send the laptop back. I go to a 3rd party retailer and purchase a T420S there instead, ships the same day

7/14 – I send back the second X220i

7/17 – T420S from the 3rd party retailer arrives, all is right with the world

8/2 – I receive the reimbursement for the SECOND X220i that was returned to Lenovo

9/1 – Contacted support about the reimbursement for the first laptop that was sent back. They acknowledged that it was received, but there had been no action taken. The rep said they would resubmit the request and I would have my reimbursement within 10 business days

9/15 – Still nothing, contacted support again. This time I was told that they never showed receipt of the laptop, and asked if I could provide the tracking number. They finally acknowledged receipt, and said they would resubmit the request and I would have my reimbursement within 10 business days

10/3 – Still nothing, contacted support again. I was told that they showed receipt, and they showed that a reimbursement request had been submitted twice already, but it had not been processed. I was assured that they would resubmit the request and I would have my reimbursement within 10 business days

10/26 – Still nothing, contacted support again. This time I was told that they received a notification from the concern department that the wrong machine was sent back for refund. I explained that of course it was the wrong machine, that was the entire reason I sent it back, and this should have been noted on the account. I was assured that they would resubmit the request and I would have my reimbursement within 10 business days

10/30 – Finally received reimbursement for the first returned laptop…four months after sending it back

"When I was searching for a good laptop using reviews, Lenovo seemed to have it all and was listed as like #3 on the website that I had seen. Their Customer Service was said to be incredible. I REALLY liked their keyboard and with the reviews, I paid the extra money to buy the G770 which was already outdated in a year with another one replacing it but at almost twice the cost....

Within two hours of receiving it and using it, I kept getting a blue screen and it kept rebooting. I called Customer Service to see what they recommended and I was told that they could definitely fix the problem - it would cost me $150 to talk to support and resolve the issue. I reminded them that it was only 3 hours old and that I wouldnt be paying $150 - also told them that I had bought two Dells previously. He did say that - "we are not HP or Dell". I hung up and resolved the issue w/in 24 hours of having to post on websites for help - it is a good thing I still had my old Dell tower so I could fix my own problem.

I had learned also that when I entered my serial number on Lenovos hotline, it was out of warantee. I called back about a month after getting the Lenovo and asked about that. It seems that I could register by replying to an email they would send me and by attaching the original receipt showing the date of purchase - otherwise, it was only under warrantee from like the first of the year and I bought it in August. I replied to the email that I received and attached a scanned copy of the receipt. I also asked for confirmation that it was received and that I was all set. Got no response. I then emailed again asking the same thing; no response. Another month went by, sent another email, no response.

Lenovo can be sure that I will NOT buy another Lenovo and I would hope that others don't. In looking for a site where I could review Lenovo, I found FAR more COMPLAINTS and disatisfaction with Lenovo than anything good noted. Where the heck the original website that I found that indicated Lenovo Customer Support was one of the best out there, it is really the opposite.

Don't buy a Lenovo unless you have no other choice.

"Becareful buying from this company, they have horrible quality control, and top of that horrible customer support which honestly will just tell you to wait 3-5 days no matter what the issue. I purchased a computer, they sent me a dead unit, and i asked for a "full" refund since it was their fault, and still no refund after three weeks. I will probally file a dispute if this is not settled, if you are interested in a class action law suit (going through other forums i notice im not the only one with issues with regards to refunds), bring up awareness for this companies crook like business pratices."

"Ordered a K430 from their website early October, told it was in stock and ready to ship. I ordered "as is" without any customization whatsoever. The shipment got delayed, and delayed again. I wrote an email, after 17 days asking what the story is, and was told that the estimated ship date is 10/26.

That date came and went, and I got another email saying it was delayed yet again. I finally called their 1866 number today to cancel, and the person who took the call offered me a 5% discount to not cancel (rejected that--be serious; if they really wanted me to not cancel, offer me a real discount), and told me it would be 3-5 days to find out a shipping status. When I said that was unacceptable, I cancelled and she said it would be 3-5 days to process. There was no apology, no attempt to escalate to resolve the issue, no desire to make me a Lenovo customer. (And I heard that the computer business was down--I would think any of these companies would desire to make the customer happy)

I agree with everybody who thinks the Lenovo customer service is beyond bad. I will NEVER order from them again, and I have influence over a large department which may order between 20 and 40 computers in a year. Amazing how companies don't get it. Just being honest. If the computer were custom built, I'd understand. But this was an "off the shelf" computer system as per their website.
