"I will never order from Lenovo again. They took two months to ship my laptop, even though I cancelled the order after 30 days of no shipment. Still waiting for a refund. Their reps are a very good example of what not to do, lying to me multiple times during the process and giving me conflicting info.

3/15 Order placed for scratch and dent Thinkpad T420.

3/28 Lenovo customer support says laptop will be shipped "tomorrow."

3/30 Lenovo rep says ship "by end of week."

4/4 Elevate to manager who "looks into issue" and promises "resolution in 1-2 business days."

4/9 I follow up with manager. He still does not have any idea if my order is in stock or not.

4/11 Manager follows up with me, still "looking into it."

4/13 Manager says order "will be shipped today."

4/16 I receive a curious automated email from Lenovo: "Due to the overwhelming demand for the Lenovo products you ordered, we have been unable to ship all or part of your order... Federal regulations require us to automatically cancel your order for which you will receive a full refund."

4/17 I order a new in box comparable Asus Laptop for cheaper. Call Lenovo and try to cancel. Rep says I must wait for shipment to return laptop for a refund. I demand that they cancel and cite the email saying it's possible.

5/8 I receive a package from UPS. Noticing it has Lenovo on the box I refuse to sign for it and the driver says it will be returned to sender.

5/9 Credit card charged for cancelled laptop.

5/11 I call Lenovo and demand a refund. The rep is confused because their system does not show laptop was returned. As a workaround the rep starts the RMA process and I receive an email saying I must return the laptop.

"OK to be fair the machine has turned up (quite to my surprise; as I expected the order hadn't gone through). Initial impressions are actually quite good. Nicely built machine (better build than my old R60e). Lovely keyboard, nice big keys. Looks very smart and boring (what I wanted!). Have to see how it goes. So maybe the service does suck a bit, but so far it seems like a nice machine.

[
I ordered a machine on their website. I completed the process on website including my credit card details and frankly dont believe I made a mistake or there was something wrong with the card because that hasn't happened in the past. No confirmation email. The website gives incorrect reporting of the numbers of stock available (try to order .. no machines). I've asked for the status of my order, so we'll see. I've had previous Lenovo machines and the support and customer service was terrible then (they didn't even bother acknowledging correspondence).

"Be Warned - 15% restocking fee. 21 days from order to request return. Shipping can take really long, more than the 21 days. Only buy a Lenovo if you really want it. Their website is broken and cannot review order details. Online submission forms and emails to websales are rarely replied to."

"Unbelievably bad experience with Lenovo Outlet. They cancel orders for absolutely no reason days after order placed and send bogus emails saying could not bill credit card (which I verified was not the case).

Multiple calls to cust service resulted in "place the order again" but since it's an outlet limited quantity, I cannot get same config or price. Even cust service reps had no idea why orders were cancelled and why email stated reason that was completely false.

Would NEVER buy from them again. EVER. Spent days pouring over configs to find the perfect one at the perfect price and then they just cancel with no recourse except for me to start over (and to what end, so they can do it again?)

As of 3-23-2012 There are over 170 reviews for Lenovo with an average rating of 1 star (lowest possible score) just goes to show that Lenovo is failing on all fronts miserably. It's too bad because when Lenovo purchased this business from IBM it was THE premiere brand... Amazing how fast and dramtically a company's brand can be driven into the ground by bad management and lousy service practices.

In fairness, the call center guys were nice and tried to help, but the system and policies make no sense and give them no ability to solve problems.

In summary, if you see a Lenovo sale, don't walk, RUN THE OTHER WAY... You will be glad you did.

"Horrible customer service. Do not expect the warranty service means anything even when you purchase a real laptop for more than 2000 dollars. Found defects 3 months into usage, sent the laptop back for service and repair. Took 3 months, took countless number of calls and time to ask for status, at last sent back with NOTHING fixed or work done, using excuse "we do not have parts". This is a current model laptop, not some old models that production has ceased. Contact to have it fixed again, they stalled me, every time left a message with supervisors wiould get no response or call back. Stalled me until the warranty period was over, then claimed that my laptop was out of warranty, could not fix the issue unless I pay for a new warranty. Shamelessly, they will even ask you to purchase a new warranty plan with them after all the failures. Used many different brands, Lenovo is the lowest of the low, disappointment beyond description."

"Great products, terrible service.

I ordered a laptop for my wife. She does occasional gaming and her older laptop does not have a video card. I bought her an Ideapad Y series with a video card to let her enjoy her computer games a bit more. She also uses this for school work, but her old laptop was just fine for that. This one was just for the gaming upgrade.

I received the product and fell in love with it. The outer casing feels a bit cheap, but it wasn't too bad. I loved the keyboard, and the screen was nice and bright. the resolution was a little low, but I guess you can't win everything. A few days after she used the laptop, she noticed strange green lines periodically appearing on her screen. To me, it looked like a faulty video card. But it didn't make the laptop unusable. So she used it for a few more days. Then, the bluescreens started. I reimaged the hard drive, and it didn't solve the problem. So I called up tech support and they asked me to (again) reimage my drive. When that didn't work, they created a case for me and I returned my laptop to them. It was a painless process. I just dropped off my laptop at a FEDEX office. They took care of the rest. I didn't have to pay for shipping or bring packaging. After about a week (including shipping times), I got the laptop back. The only thing that they had done was reimaged the hard drive. This obviously didn't fix the problem (because I had done it twice before).

I called them, and I was understandably upset. So I sent it back to them for repair. After another week I received it back. When I opened up the package and turned it on, the screen was white. Completely white. No picture. By this time I called them and was irate. They decided to replace my laptop. At least I thought they would send me a new product that would actually work. And this was true. But they sent me a laptop that was WORSE than the one I had bought! Specifically it had no video card, which was the reason I had bought it in the first place! There is nothing I could do about this. I just had to stick with an inferior laptop that I paid a premium price for.

Overall, a terrible experience with Lenovo.

"Trying to buy direct from Lenovo gave me a headache, mainly because of their orders being handled by some company called "Digital River".

Firstly, it's worth noting that you can pay a few pounds more for the exact same SKU depending on the route you take through Lenovo's store. Variants of the same spec can also bump the price dramatically - make sure you check every possible path through the website before placing an order.

Their website is terrible. It only works properly in Internet Explorer, which well... is painful to use. In Firefox and Opera I had the site conk out at various points.

Trying to actually buy a laptop was where the problems started. The website doesn't accept my card nor paypal; and my bank tells me it isn't bouncing any transactions. The checkout system just sucks.

After about 5 purchase attempts and 15 minutes on the phone to their call centre listening to music and eating up tons of call time, I still haven't managed to purchase a laptop.

Yet to recieve a response after a mahoosive complaint email but I might just give up, avoid Lenovo altogether and support a company that isn't going to waste my morning and actually take my money.

"I ordered a U400 Ideadpad during their Black Friday sale in November 2011. While the package did admittedly take a long time in coming and the shipping date continuously got pushed back because of inventory issues, I eventually did get the laptop in about 4 weeks time, right after Christmas. In between that time, my credit card DID get charged at first, but the charge was later dropped in about a week's time. I called up customer service, worried that my order was dropped. They told me that my order was taking longer to process, and while they weren't able to give me a shipping estimate (something that I was really annoyed with at the time), they did promise to notify me when it was available, and that I would be charged on my credit card only when it was shipped. When it FINALLY CAME, I was very happy with the product, even if slightly annoyed at Lenovo's slow operations.

However, what happens next is what made me reconsider Lenovo's customer service in a more positive light: When January 2012 rolled by, I was surprised by my friends with an upgraded and slightly more expensive Lenovo Laptop for my birthday (they all knew I wanted a Lenovo ideapad, but apparently no one realized I had already ordered it for myself). Even though it was a couple of days past the 21 days return period of my original laptop, I called up customer service and they were incredibly accommodating, allowing me to get a full refund on the laptop despite being outside the original return period. I shipped it back to them, and was able to get the full price refunded to my credit card within 2 weeks. While service can be admittedly slow with Lenovo, my experiences have shown that they are VERY reliable and will eventually address your needs, given enough time. Given all the poor reviews that I see here, I honestly do believe they are working harder at improving their customer service.

"Lenovo is the worst laptop vendor. I ordered a few laptops from lenovo. Got a confirmation email. My credit card was charged shortly. After a few days waiting, I got a cancellation email without a reason. Then, I called Lenovo's credit card department to ask them why. They (representative's name is Joe) said my purchasing is fraud and illegal. I was so shocked. I used my own credit card and called my credit card company to authorize this payment. I totally don't understand why lenovo told me this purchasing is illegal and fraud. I feel very insulted. I will tell my story to all my friends. Will not buy any lenovo products again."

"Warning about Lenovo Customer Service. I bought a Z570 laptop and the battery died after 1 month on 1/21/12. I called Customer Service that day and was told to ship the laptop to their repair center in Grapevine, TX. I had to pay UPS $69 including extra insurance to get it there as they Lenovo only covers shipping on certain series. Laptop arrived on 1/26/12. Lenovo had kept telling me to check their repair site at http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/us/en/RepairStatus/RepairStatus.aspx. The site did not reflect the delivery. After 3 days, two phone calls and several attempts at checking the site, Lenovo is telling me they cannot locate the laptop even after checking the tracking number themselves! This is very frustrating. Lenovo C/S gives out bogus info and their English is difficult to understand. I hope this turns out ok. Just fair warning if you have to take Lenovo up on their warranty...Horrible experience!"

"Lenovo is the WORST computer vendor I have ever dealt with. I have dealt with all of them! In fact, I have never dealt with any company that literally lies, cheats, and does everything it can to make sure that they do not have to honor their warranty. They will tell you whatever sounds good to sell you their computers, but then afterwards, they come up will all kinds of excuses to not spend any time or money repairing their computers. I paid an extra $400 for the 2 year extended warranty which expires in 2013, with Priority NBD(Next Business Day) support, but their technicians know nothing. The only thing they know, is that they have to charge me to fix the computer after 5 minutes of false diagnosing and then they want me to pay to have the computer repaired while still under warranty. One technician even offered me a discount because I had been made so frustrated. I have had problems with Dell, Toshiba, Apple, and every other computer brand, because no one is perfect, but I swear on my life, Lenovo is the most corrupt, dishonest, cheating, lying, thieving, incompetent company I have ever dealt with in my life. I would never have bought anything from them had I known what a collectively CORRUPT COMPANY THEY ARE. Thank God there are several other computer companies to choose from. Save yourself the aggravation of a lifetime and stay away from Lenovo."

"LOL, support with some of these big companies can so easily be a bad joke - and that's the case with my experience with a "simple" purchase at Lenovo.com

I purchased two mice on sale. One of them worked without issue, the other started getting a hot USB transmitter, then lagging, then quit working all together.

I call the RMA number, they don't speak very good english so communication is an issue from the get-go. I'm told I can't RMA without first going through tech support (despite telling them this mouse does not work on three systems, yet the other identical mouse works without issue on the same three systems). Yeah, bureaucracy - gotta do the checkmarks first because nobody understands a thing these days.

I call tech support, they tell me to call the RMA tele# I just called as there's no reason for further troubleshooting. I should have got a "Case#" or whatever, but I call the RMA # right back without one - mistake.

Well, I'm told they'll get back to me within 5 days by email regarding my need to return a simple mouse for replacement which will put me really close to the end of the 21-day return window. Also, my mouse was referred to as a wireless keyboard and I was also asked if my wireless mouse was a desktop or laptop computer throughout my calls to Lenovo.

I'm glad I discovered their customer support is worthless on a small item and not one of their laptops. I'm going to call again, but I'm sure I'm going to use up at least another hour of our time (which costs them an easy $30 even on cheaper overseas overhead) trying to get a simple return/exchange to go.
