"Came in to replace my alternator. Was told that it was the transmission. Brought it to the transmission shop. Was told there was nothing wrong with it - it was indeed the alternator. Brought it back to shop. Asked *again* to replace the alternator. In the process, the mechanic managed to break the idler pulley. I was told they would pay for part but I would have to pay for labor. "Meet half way." Would have been half way, but it was a $30 part and they charged $100 for no more than 20 minutes labor, tops. I'm in the wrong line of work if that's the case!"
