"Terrible customer service. They bill you immediately, even if the item is not in stock. They did not meet the promised shipping of 1 to 2 weeks. Since I called them daily and emailed daily to confirm shipping a sink needed for a kitchen remodel, they cancelled the order and charged my credit card 15% cancellation fee. I had not requested the order be cancelled. This is a scam operation. Look for another company that values the customers. "

"I contacted Customer Service for further info on a WasteKing disposal.Talked w/ Bruce who was very helpful and informative. I then ordered one and was absolutely amazed at the response. Their e-mail follow up logged the order at 10:14,confirmed billing at 10:16 and filled the order for shipping at 10:57. Web site and Fedex tracking info was great. Received the disposal three days later and installed it in two hours.
Great pricing,great customer service,absolutely satisfied. If customers ASK questions before they order, they most likely would have a positive experience. Thank You Ira Wood & Sons!

"I ordered a knife from this merchant and was invited to pay with paypal which I did. Got the usual couple of emails advising that the order was being processed. Then an email telling me that the item had been billed, (meaning that they got their money) but unfortunately "due to circumstances beyond their control, the item is out of stock". They estimated that it would take 12 days or so to ship. Paypal says they can not do anything about it. If I had known the item was not in stock I would not have approved the payment. I would not buy from this merchant again."

"Item order process and initial delivery was not a problem. Easy ordering and fast delivery. The item was delivered broken and it has been an impossible experience trying to get a new product. I've e-mailed, called and even instant messaged with Ira Wood representatives-- and have had no luck in resolving the problem. Terrible experience. I would certinaly not order from them again and would discourage everyone else from ordering as well.

"Ira Woods & Sons have higher then average shipping costs. I ordered a kitchen sink and was charged $99.00 for shipping. Their web site stated that it had to be shipped by freight truck due to being over sized. Upon arrival the freight truck was a guy in a pickup truck! After signing the bill of lading I checked the weight and it stated 90 pounds. However the truck driver and myself could carry it with one hand. Doing shipping on the side I place it on my shipping scale and it was 28 pounds!!! I then measured the box which was 44" X 24" X 12". Even you use the girth method it was 108" Checking my shipping websites for that size FEDEX, UPS, USPO could all ship this for under $50.00. I called and couldn't get a good answer, especially about the weight being off by 62 pounds. They over charge shipping on purpose. Challenge them up front on shipping before placing a order. "

"NO RETURNS POLICY - Avoid This Store!
I bought a Cuisinart Toaster oven as a Christmas present for my mom. It took Ira Wood more than a month to ship the order. When it finally arrived we looked at it and my mom decided she wants a different size oven. When I call the store it turned out they don’t take returns! They referred to some list of non-returnable item groups that I was somehow supposed to relate to the product I was getting. So now I am stuck with an item I don’t need. Never again I will buy from this store!

"I wish I had found this site before I bought from Ira Wood & Sons. As another post said, RUN, DO NOT WALK AWAY from this company. I ordered ONE wastewater pump from them and they charged me for two and shipped two. When I got the second one I contacted them and told them that I had not ordered two. I even had the order confirmation for ONE pump. First they tried to get me to keep the second one, then they authorized return with a 25% RESTOCKING FEE--and required me to ship the pump I had not ordered at my own expense. I have sent them numerous communications and they refuse to budge on charging me.

I finally had to open a fraud report with my credit card company, but I ended up having to eat the shipping expense to send the thing back. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

"My advice...RUN...DON'T WALK...away from IRA WOODS!!!! This company has the most predaceous business policies I have ever experienced!!! Those of you who've had good experiences are extremely fortunate. It started when my mother attempted to purchase jewelry from this company. She received her order and decided it wasn't what she wanted and attempted to return it for a refund. Well...IRA Woods does not provide refunds. Instead they will either accept returns for store credit after deducting a 25% restocking fee or authorize an exchange (using the most convoluted process you'll ever experience) for a 15% restocking fee. By the way, you are also responsible for all shipping costs on returned items. The original $200 were now reduced to $150. She then asked us if we wanted anything from the website so her money wouldn't go to waste. We selected some bath towels that turned out to be bath sheets. I kid you not...the towels were organic cotton no more than 1/8 inch thick!!!! So we fought with their customer service dept to exchange the towels for other merchandise (knives)in an attempt to minimize the restocking penalty. We spent one month trying to clarify that we wanted an exchange and not a return so we would be charged 15% restocking rather than 25%. We finally got that sorted out and have been waiting for over a month for the knives to be shipped. After 1 return, 1 exchange and shipping fees, the original $200 purchase was now worth approximately $100 to IRA Woods. As I alluded to earlier, these policies prey on unsuspecting customers who are used to being treated fairly from legitimate companies. IRA Woods follows a despicable business model and potential customers need to be warned to stay away! Please use our experience to drive you towards a legitimate online or neighborhood retailer. And please remember to review the resellers ratings before making a purchase. They will save you time and hassle. This is a lesson that we have learned the hard way."

"Worst on-line purchase ever. Your experience with Ira Woods will depend on if your order arrives complete and undamaged or not. If there is a problem with the order your NOT going to have a good experience with Ira Woods. After sales service is none existent. You will receive a very polite response and nothing will be taken care of. Ira woods way of dealing with a problem is to ignore it until it goes away. Purchased Breville BKC700XL Gourmet single cup coffee maker that did not arrive with all the accessories (one year supply of coffee filters and an 18 K-cup variety pack) it was supposed to come with. Made a complaint, 17 days later case was closed and nothing was done. "

"We contact customer service regarding returning the towel warmer and ordering a larger size. Asked what would be charges, etc. After our initial conversation - never heard from anyone again. This was more than a month ago and due to our contractors schedule we just went ahead and installed the ordered item which we are now very unhappy with. But that is another story. Very dissatisfied with customer service. "

"I spend a lot of time looking at comments regarding online retailers. I took the time to provide feedback realizing most buyers with positive feedback don't take the time to provide it, while those with a negative experience do are bound and determined to give feedback.

Purchased a Blanco Sink from irawoods.com the evening of July 29 2009. I was very happy with this purchase. They had the lowest price and free shipping beating most other competitors by $100 to $200. Although the item was listed as in stock on their web page, the next morning I immediately received an email from Derrik explaining the item was not in stock (2 week leasd time) and he gave me the option of cancelling or proceeding with the order. I didn't need the sink immediately so I proceeded and for the price I didn't mind the wait. You can't have everything people. I was notified via subsequent emails of 1) order approval 2) invoice and credit card billed 3) and finally the shipment with the Fedex tracking number. You can't expect for companies like this to keep the inventory of thousands of items in this economy with very few buyers. Their order status communication with me was excellent, and I will continue to purchase from them in the future. - Clay, Greenville SC.

" purchased a juicer from Ira Wood & Sons, a retailed that Amazon directed me to, on May 26. I have shopped a lot with Amazon and have always been incredibly satisfied with everything I have every received and the timely fashion in which it arrived so I did not hesitate to order the juicer from an outside retailer since it was approved by Amazon. Unfortunately, my past experience has not been as great as the previous ones.

When I contacted Ira Wood to check on the status of my order (my credit card was charged May 28) they responded with the following :

Hello ____,
I understand that you would like to know the status on an order you placed with Ira Wood & Sons. Unfortunately, due to the unexpected high demand for this item, this item is currently on backorder. Your item(s) are on order with the manufacturer. This is an item that we normally keep stock on and we expect to receive a shipment soon. Although we do not currently have an exact ship date, current expected delivery time for this item is some time in June. Once we receive this shipment we will immediately send your order to you. I apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience. If this is an item that you must have immediately perhaps we can find a substitute for you. Please let me know if you need anything else and thank you for your business!

It was never stated that the item was back ordered when I purchased it or I would have looked elsewhere. When I later followed up to see if I could find a suitable replacement, the customer service assistant was of no help, but instead berated me for not noticing the "please ask us for availibilty" which was not listed on the site before. She directed me to an area where I could request to cancel the order but only after playing a a restocking fee! Why they need to restock an item that has not shipped, I am not sure.

I have not recieved my juicer although I have been charged. I am waiting to hear on the status of my request for a refund.

"These people really suck!!!
I ordered lights back in April and never heard from them. After sending several emails I finally called and spoke with customer service, 5/15/09, they said there was a production problem and delivery would be a few more days. 5/29 I was told they were set to go out that day and I would get a tracking # via email. NEVER HAPPENED!! Now I can’t get my $$$$ back. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM IRA WOOD & SONS. YOUR NOT SAVING ENOUGH MONEY FOR ALL THE AGRVATION!! For a copy of my correspondence with customer worthless email me a ****@**** , I’ll be glad to share.

"What these people do borders on fraud. They advertise items and great prices that they do not have and may not beable to get. Once they have your money they try to buy the item which they may or may not be able to let alone promise availability. Do not buy from them."
