"Worst customer service I've experienced in at least five years. Six weeks after we placed orders for faucets and shower fixtures they still hadn't arrived. We spent $1800 in bathroom fixtures! They kept stringing us along with various dates that the fixtures would arrive. Then my sales person, Nick gave me one and two word explanations for things when I asked 'why it was taking so long.' Then he stopped responding altogether. Then didn't return a phone call. When I finally got him he said to me, "Well, it's not in yet." I said, "No sh@t it's not in yet!" Then put me into voice mail and when I tried to call back he put me straight into voicemail. The person who took over for Nick didn't even return my call and when I finally got him via on-line chat, acted like he didn't know who I was. I cancelled my order after seven weeks of no product and bought from homeclick.com who had the product in stock."

"BAD, BAD, BAD online seller. I ordered and paid for two items from their web site. After waiting several weeks, I sent an inquiry email. No response. I sent more emails. No response. I finally did an online chat session and was told that one item in the order was backordered and the entire order was held as a result. After more weeks went by and no response to additional emails, I looked into getting a refund. LUCKILY, I contacted PayPal just days before the expiration of their dispute deadline. Although Ira Woods never did respond to the dispute, they were forced to provide a refund via PayPal!

I spend thousands of dollars each year online. Ira Woods is the worst online seller I have ever dealt with. There are so many honest sellers out there, why use a bad one?

"PURCHASE AT YOUR OWN RISK. VERY VERY bad customer service. Takes them exactly ONE month to refund my credit card. Item was not in stock, they said it would be ship within 2 weeks. I follow up with them on the 3rd week, they said it would take another 2 weeks, I cancel the order and ask for refund. Takes 3 days to response to my e-mail and when I call, I got transfer around with NO HELP. I order the same item with Allbrands.com at lower price and got my merchandise within one week."

"In at least 10 years of heavy online purchasing I have never come across such a disreputable firm as Ira Wood & Sons, Inc.

Ira Wood & Sons, Inc. appears to have some kind of online cash flow scam going here. Unlike most reputable online resellers, Ira Wood & Sons, Inc. collects its cash before they have the item on hand. In my case Ira Wood & Sons, Inc. just kept putting off the shipping dates until I finally asked for a refund—even the refund was delayed.

It seems that Ira Wood & Sons, Inc. offers lower prices than others to secure the orders then (in my case) never ship the items. They are always friendly and apologetic with seemingly good excuses and intentions. Meanwhile they had my money for over 3.5 months and I never received the products.

I ordered 2 Panasonic fans from Ira Wood & Sons, Inc. late night on Sat 2/19/11 and was charged for the fans ($433.64) on Sunday 2/20/11. At the time this was a great price with free shipping. I should have checked the online reviews first—I usually do. I shouldn’t have rushed the purchase before going to bed.

The first disappointment was the following note on my receipt: “As agreed upon, the products listed here have been reserved for you and are expected to ship On or After 03/09/2011. Your order will be held for one complete shipment.”

I had never agree to this and it was the first I’d been told there was a delay, but it was not too concerning at first. Most reputable firms will tell you the item is back ordered and offer a choice of canceling the order before they charge or a refund if the charge has already gone through.

It slipped my mind until 3/20/11 when I complained about not getting my fans yet. Ira Wood response: “As stated in my previous email, the items on your order have yet to complete the shipping process. You have requested I provide you with a estimated ship date. The current estimated ship date for your order is 04/05/2011.”

Of course this date came and went. I complained again on 4/14/11 and got a response on 4/15/11: “As stated in my previous email, the items on your order have yet to complete the shipping process. You have requested I provide you with a estimated ship date. The current estimated ship date for your order is 04/26/2011.”

I called and sent an email again on 4/28/11 and they said they would get back to me within a day and never did.

I contacted them again on 5/6/11 and received this response: “Per our phone conversation, the items on your order have yet to complete the shipping process. You have requested I provide you with a estimated ship date. The current estimated ship date for your order is 05/18/2011.”

This whole time, when I spoke with representatives on the phone they always claimed that the problem was with Panasonic not being able to keep the supply up to the demand for a popular product. Of course this turned out to be nonsense.

By 5/31/11 I had read all the bad reviews on Ira Wood and asked for a refund to my credit card here is their ridiculous response: “This is to inform you that a refund has been set up for you. Your refund is now pending approval and processing. Once your refund is approved and processed, you will receive a separate email with receipt of your refund. Please allow 3-5 business days for your refund to complete processing. Thank you for your patience.”

Of course after 3-5 business days there was no refund. This time on 6/9/11 I called several times and could not get a human I left a very angry message demanding an immediate refund and questioning why it would take more than 1 day for a refund to show up on my AMEX acct. The refund finally showed up on my account the same day—6/9/11.

By this time there were also far more online resources for the fans at similar prices. I ordered 2 more fans from 2 different sellers on 6/1/11.I received both fans on 6/3/11 and had both fans installed by 6/5/11 before I even received a refund from Ira Wood & Sons, Inc.!

"these people are liars. stay away. don't waste your time and money. they didn't ship in 3 weeks as promised but charged my CC. after the scheduled ship date i began calling them and was told every time that another person is handling the case. this dragged on for a week and i've talked to all of them. they will say i can't open that file..so and so will call you back but they never do. waste of time."

"I don't think I've ever seen such blatant liars and cheats! My first (and only) order arrived with missing pieces. I phoned them immediately and a really rude boy named Matt answered the phone. He refused to issue a pick up, make it right or even try to address the issue. And can you believe this? He told me "You should've known better". Huh??? Guess he was having his period that day so I asked for a supervisor. He said he'd have one call me. No supervisor called. I disputed credit card and when they responded to the dispute, they said I hadn't called them within the required 3 business days after receipt. That's an outright lie!!! 3 business days? I phoned them 10 minutes later! These people are the lowest of the low and their 'customer service' people are ignorant of customer service, dishonest, and I sincerely doubt their 'customer service' boy is even a person. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE THIEVES. I'm also lodging an official complaint about them with Master Card / Visa because they should know this is a crooked merchant."

"PLEASE STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS A FRAUDELANT COMPANY! do not even consider purchasing or giving this company your credit card number as you will regret it. everything you read below is very true. i will save my energy of writing exactly as the others have already. matt in customer service is basically a theif! i beleive his purpose at ira wood is to decieve people and use the money charged on there credit cards to run their business. never to ship the products."

"DO NOT ORDER FROM IRA WOOD & SONS! They wait until they have a minimum of 10+ orders on one product b4 they ship it because they are generally in arrears with their vendors- I ordered a propane water heater and had to wait three weeks, and after 12 phone calls, I found out that they hadnt even placed the order with the vendor yet. When I called the vendor, they told me that Ira Wood had not paid their last invoice and were 'suspended' until further notice. I called Ira Wood back, told them what I learned, and they said "You were not supposed to do that"-well, if I hadn't, I would still be waiting for it! The worst company I have ever dealt with in 20 years!"

"Ira Wood's service is horrible. They treated me without any respect. I ordered a few items worth around $1000. Instead of 1 week, as they claimed, I had to wait 7 weeks!!! Because of them, I was stuck with my bathroom project for so long and I was getting aggravated as the days were passing by. I made several phone calls and I was fooled by the customer service that my order is on its way. The customer service was rude, unprofessional, and sarcastic. My words can not describe how bad I felt whenever I had to deal with Ira Woods. If I can warn you, please listen to my words: DO NOT ORDER FROM Ira Wood & Sons! Ever ! "

"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE! I read the reviews and thought I could work with them by calling and making sure the product I wanted was in stock. It was; they shipped it right away. However, the product they shipped me was damaged and they have been dragging their feet for 3 WEEKS to get me a new one and to pay for shipping the damaged faucet back to them. They do not return calls. They take days to return emails. They tell me there is no manager in customer service and couldn't tell me who the VP was. SERIOUSLY, ALL THE BAD REVIEWS ARE TRUE."

"I am so angry right now with trying to track an order for a Vigo sink I made through Ira Woods 2 weeks ago! They have no idea and can't seem to help me. Not only that, but their customer service is terrible; they only get defensive when I inquire how can it be that they don't know where something I ordered two weeks ago is. They will blame the manufacturer rather than take responsibility for their own negligence. Yes, I agree with other posts that this is a fraudulent service. They need to be taken out of business and manufacturers should be advised to sever all connections with Ira Woods."

"If this review protects anyone from this vendor, then it's done something good. I ordered a Shun Classic kitchen knife from Ira Woods & Sons, Inc. via their website, irawoods.com. The estimated ship date on the item was set at 48 hours. I made an inquiry when no shipping info. was given after 2 day. In response, I was told the item would not ship for 2 weeks. When the item failed to ship after 7 weeks, customer service representative evaded my request for a full refund and indicated that the item would ship within three days. Four days after that last round of complaints, I write this review and ready myself to contact my credit card provider for remedy. Avoid this vendor at all costs."

"Ordered $3,000 worth of bathroom fixtures, but sinks had to be returned as wrong size (my fault). They said I needed to buy new ones and then get a return authorisation for originals. Did that, and eventually (after many calls and weeks) got the return authorisation. Sent the original sinks back at a cost to me of $50, but now they won't refund me. Have tried emails, faxes, phone calls, legal threats and still no response. Get put on hold and then eventually voicemail. Horrible company. Avoid at all costs."

"This is hands-down the worst vendor I've ever dealt with. We ordered a Miele Dishwasher - it wasn't in stock even though they said it was, we had to pester them to get the status of or order, the front panel was damaged and the wrong size, but they wouldn’t take it back because we didn’t notice when we received the item.

Dealing with their customer service department was awful, apparently their phones don't dial out.
