"Very poor post order service. First order for Duravit sinks came with the wrong sinks - despite my specific request for sinks finished on the back. Second order for another model for Duravit sinks did not ship on promised ship date and has not been shipped (at least, I have received no notification) in almost two weeks past the promised date. I can not get any updated shipping information or any expected ship date. Two customer service cases have been filed - the first one for the wrong sinks has been filed over 1 1/2 weeks without any resolution or follow-up. Several emails, phone messages, and personal conversations with sales persons and customer service have not yielded any results. Very disappointed. "

"I had several issues with this company. Avoid using them.

I ordered a Rowenda iron model DG5030 on September 19, 2010. At their web site under the item they had the enclosure that this item most likely is available for next day shipping. After the order was complete I received the confirmation saying that the shipment will be available after September 27th of 2010.

Finally the order arrived on September 29, while I was away on vacation. Upon return when I opened the package it was evident that the item was not new. I called the customer service to claim an exchange with a new item and they asked me for pictures of the claimed damages. I responted on October 19th. On October 25th they responded telling me that they could not open the pictures because their email only handles 5MB at a time. I resent all the pictures one-by-one on October 27th. I did not hear anything from them. I called several times and I left messages that were never returned. I called the sales department and they told me that this issue is handled by the customer service by a person named Kathy. I tried to call Kathy again, they told me she was out of the office. I left another message but I did not receive any reply.

Finally on November 11, 2010 I called customer service again, and after almost one hour waiting Kathy came on the phone. I requested the status of my claim and after a lengthy argument it was concluded that the used item will not be exchanged with a new one as I paid (they only have a 3-day return policy). She even accused me that I was trying to exchanged a damaged item that I previously owned.

For the shake of your peace in mind DO NOT deal with this company.

"Ira Woods engaged in deceptive sales tactics and has terrible customer service.

I purchased a bathroom vanity from Ira Woods over the phone as I wanted to seek clarification on their delivery policy http://www.irawoods.com/Help-Center/Free-Shipping I spoke with salesman ****@**** about the $50 delivery option of "inside room of choice" to the second floor bathroom and he confirmed it would be done.

In 2 weeks, FedEx contacted me for delivery. We discussed delivery to my second floor bathroom. They said they could not bring the package inside, not to mention to the second floor. I contacted Ira Woods Support and was connected with ****@****, Customer Service Dept Lead. Kathy was terrible. She would not honor their delivery agreement nor work out details with another delivery service. In my numerous attempts to contact her (phone, email, customer service request database) and other staff members over 2 week's period, I was basically ignored. I asked for a refund of $121.49 and was ignored.

If the salesman from Ira Woods did not confirm delivery to 2nd floor “inside room of choice,” I would have bought it from www.thebathroomdepot.com Total with delivery is $1,137.50 which is $121.49 cheaper ($1,258.99 Ira Woods - $1,137.50 Bathroom Depot = $121.49). I told Derrick this as Ira Woods offers a price match policy. At the time of order, Derrick expressed that he could not price match it because of the discount and shipping terms, so I said it was fine as long as I could get delivery to my second floor. He reassured me they would.

I finally contacted FedEx to deliver the vanity, it was delivered to my driveway per their policy. I believe Ira Woods engaged in deceptive sales tactics and poor customer service and would like to complain about the company to change their deceptive businesses practices, poor customer service, and seek a refund of $121.49.

Resolution to make it right:
1. Ira Woods (Kathy Oliver , Derrick Lyvers to admit wrongdoing and provide me a written appology 2. Change deceptive sales tactics 3. Follow their published policies http://www.irawoods.com/Help-Center/Free-Shipping or update them to the correct ones
4. Improve their poor customer service through prompt communication and resolving problems 5. Refund me $121.49

"MUST TO AVOID!

I had a horrible experience with this vendor: they have been in business since 1918... and their customer service standards seem stuck in that antique era! Every communication takes AT LEAST "three business days", which is absurd for an online retailer.

I ordered a half-dozen Buck pocketknives, all of which were listed as being in-stock, one- or two-day availability. My card was charged immediately. After a week went by without a ship notice, I wrote to their CS department. A week(!) later, I got a reply, indicating that my order would ship in one or two business days. Nearly two weeks later - with no sign of a ship notice - I wrote again, and called CS on the phone too, more than once... To cut to the chase, they sheepishly admitted that they had shipped my order to the wrong customer, and offered me a full refund if I canceled. (I hadn't already canceled the order in disgust because I didn't want to pay the 25% restocking fee.) After I told them I wanted this cancelation (again, with multiple calls and emails), it still took several days to get an acknowledgement, and then over another week for them to credit my card. A six-week waste of time...

Now that I safely have the money back, I'm writing this. These guys have a very impressive website, but their business practices in every regard are borderline fraud. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CLOWNS!

"This is hands-down the worst online merchant I have ever dealt with. The customer service is non-existent and they lie about what they have in stock. Good luck getting anyone to return your calls or deal with your problem. Whatever you do, do not purchase from this merchant. I guarantee you will be sorry."

""Caveat emptor" LET THE BUYER BEWARE!
I found a much better price from JBL's direct website for speaker stands $100 less to be exact. I contacted irawoods.com and I was told that this was a custom order.( Custom meaning they had contacted JBL and asked for a pair of speaker stands). I was told in the most confusing way that I would be charged between 25% and 50% of the purchase price for cancellation. However, I was told if I choose a store credit than I would only be charged 15% for canceling. Never in my entire life have I ever heard such a thing. The item has not even left the JBL warehouse but I will be charged between 15% and 50% for canceling an item they do not have in stock it is an item that they requested from JBL just like I can!. Further if I contacted JBL, they would not charge me one penny to cancel! Please save yourself the heartache, and aggravation of dealing with a firm that grabs you by the throat and will never let go. There are so many reputable, outstanding sellers on the web. BUT IRAWOOD.COM IS CLEARLY NOT ONE OF THEM beware of them, the issue that they have been in business since 1918, only proves they have been a blot on firms that do their utmost to work with a customer, and read the fine print I cut and pasted: "Your credit card will be charged immediately in order to reserve your items. Once this order is processed buyer shall have no right to order any change or modification to any product or service previously ordered by Buyer, or cancel any order without Ira Wood's prior written consent and payment to Ira Wood for all charges and expenses incurred by Ira Wood. Specially fabricated or custom ordered items may not be canceled or returned, and no refund will be made. In the interest of helping our customers in a timely manner it is understood that you have read our policies online and understand them at the time you place your order with irawoods.com. Please take a moment to review our policies online, as by placing an order you have agreed to them." What nerve, they are truly a disgusting entity. "It's been over 5 weeks since my credit card has been charged and my orders have not been fulfilled. The Sales team provides good service, they can match a price and are quite responsive. Though, the matching price process takes a day to get the prices approved. Once my orders were placed and the charges billed, I have been trying to follow up on the status of my orders. I called and left multiple voicemails. Every time I call, my questions are routed to this person KATHY and for over a week she has not called me back! Irawoods offers good prices but you have to consider huge huge huge delays in shipping. If you have contractors lined up for your project, most likely you will not have your products on time. On top of that, I would say that I was faced with a very disappointed customer service when I was following up on the status of my order. The shipping provider they use for the curb delivery never called to schedule delivery, they just showed up on my door steps. I was lucky that I was at home that day. Overall very poor experience and I would definitely shop somewhere else next time. WATCH OUT and try shopping somewhere else!"

"Why is this company allowed to continue to do business? Clearly, based on these reviews and my own experience, they engage in deceptive practices that border on outright fraud. My experience was similar to many described here: ordered a Porcher bathtub solely because the website described the item "is usually available to ship the same or next business day." Credit card charged immediately. Called 2 days later to get a delivery date & to explain we needed it by Aug. 19. Kathy from customer service said she'd look into it and get back to me. Two days later still no word;called and spoke to Mark from sales who said the order had been delayed because Porcher put the item on "hold." Rang Porcher directly to confirm; they said they would call IraWoods to get the PO number and find out status. Kathy from IraWoods told Porcher "no one said it was on hold." Continued telephone runaround with marathon hold times for several more days; finally cancelled order on 8/16; rec'd e-mail with the info about a possible cancellation fee of 15-50% and would I like to reconsider my cancellation. Every attempt to speak to a manager or business owner resulted in huge hold times only to be directed to an anonymous voice mailbox. Kathy refused to give me the names of the owners or manager. As with other reviewers, this has clearly been my worst consumer experience ever. I've complained to the Better Business Bureau in Kentucky, the Attorney General's office in Massachusetts and had American Express open a dispute case. But with all these similar complaints, why doesn't some authority step in and shut the place down? Very frustrating. I will never order online again until I check consumer reviews. Hindsight is 20/20."

"Anything prior to the shipment is perfectly great until they found out that my item is out of stock. The availability didn't even get changed after I notified them for a week. When the shipment arrived, it took them two days to fulfill my order. Total I spent more than two weeks for an item supposed to be here in two days. Customer Service people just keep apologizing for the delay but nothing honestly can help you to receive the item sooner. Buyer should be aware if your item is out of stock but you won't get the right info on the web and they will never update their website to reflect the change."

"If you're lucky enough to be reading these ratings before you've made an order, you should be able to figure out easily that you'd better find another store. Same thing happened to me as everyone else. Ordered item, it was never shipped, I cancelled after waiting 2 weeks and was dinged with a 20% cancellation fee. Customer service ignores e-mails and phone calls. "I ordered a faucet and less than 12 hours later, I called to cancel the order. At first, they didn't want to cancel the order, and then they threaten to charge me a 15-50% restocking fee, depending on the managements discretion. They told me that Jado (the faucet company) charges them to cancel orders and they would have to pass that cost on to me. (Sounds pretty shakey to me). But they couldn't tell the cost up front so I could make an informed decision.I requested to cancel the order anyway. At first, they were going to charge me $65, but then said that the faucet was discontinued and they didn't charge me anything. I got pretty luckey this time. I called Discover and they said I could have disputed the charge and then the company has to go thru extensive paperwork to prove the charges and sometimes they just don't bother. I would have done that if I had to. I believe they try to keep your money for doing NOTHING. Someone needs to close them down. They bugged me for a while to buy another faucet, but I would never deal with them again."

"Stay far away from Ira Woods. I purchased a medicine cabinet for $1,000. It was backordered three times over a period of several months until I was informed that the ship date wouldn't be set for some time. I replaced it with an instock item through the manufacturer purchased from Ira Woods and they dinged me with a 25% restocking fee though the item NEVER shipped and the fee was NEVER disclosed before purchase. I contacted them several times, but ultimately they simply ignored me. By the time I had reordered, the original charge was too far back to dispute with the credit card company.

Bottom line: You will regret shopping at Ira Woods with other, respectable merchants out there. Try efaucets.com; I purchased several items there for my remodel and had a great experience. Save your time, save your money, save your sanity.

"AVOID AT ALL COST! They commit fraud and false advertising. Long story short, ordered an item, selected free shipping. Over a year later got a collection agency notice stating I owed UPS $108 for inside delivery - never received any such invoice from UPS or Ira Wood so guess is it was going to Ira Wood until they tried to redirect agency to me thinking I'm an idiot and would just pay. Ira Wood claims I selected a free Curbside shipping option when ordering. I did not and have all order info they emailed me at the time plus screen shots of their website for the same item at the time I raised the concern showing no Oversize Freight notice (the little truck image) or 'Curbside' included in the free shipping description in the shipping options presented during checkout. It just showed free residential delivery. Funny thing is, they tried to correct so they could tell me I was wrong - the website now has the oversize freight image and during checkout the free shipping option does indeed include the word curbside. Too bad for them I have dated screen shots. They'll either cover the cost or deal with a lawsuit at this stage. They play dumb and very nice but they are a fraud and should not be in business. I am taking up with KY Attorney General and BBB. Let's see. AVOID AT ALL COST and spread the word!"

"I can not find on the web site where it is suggested my $150 item is out of stock. They billed me the same day I ordered. After not hearing from them for a week, I contacted via email which they ignored. After contacting them the next week, they did not have the item and did not know when they would. They would not substitute anything for my order. I have wasted two weeks and now have cancelled my order. I would not recommend this company."

"Beware of low cost, for this company it comes at the cost of extremely poor customer service and communication when you have an issue. The original order said 10 - 14 business days. I have yet to receive one of the products ordered. They blamed it on the manufacture. When I went directly to the manufacture I found the product was in stock and there was no reason ira woods and sons would be waiting for the product from them. It was impossible to get follow up from them, or to involve anyone but the original CS person that answered the phone. If your thinking about ordering from them, pay the extra to purchase somewhere else, I will never be able to make up the additional costs this company added to my bathroom remodel because they were unable to deliver the product nor could they adequately communicate with me so I could make other arragements."
