"THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES.

I was lured in by a low price spiced up with an additional 'SAVE 7%' discount. My credit card was charged the same day the order was placed, and after five months (yes,really) of postponed ship dates, I contacted the manufacturer and learned the order had never been placed with them.
The particular thief I was dealing with was Nick Wade. Did I mention he's a THIEF?
If not for American Express, I'd be out $1427.97

"I ordered some Danze fixtures and they told me they were on back order. it has been 5 months and I called Danze, not only are they not backordered, Ira Woods never ordered these products.
BASICALLY THEY TOOK MY MONEY, WITH NO INTENTION OF DELIVERING GOODS!!!!

"I made a number of purchases from them prior to the economy sinking. One of the items was a grate for the ss sink to protect the sink from scratching. When the footings wore down, I contacted them again to replace my the item with an identical one. What they sent me was a totally different size that was to small for the sink. The salesman (Bill) said that customer service would take care of it. However, customer service was only available by email and their online system. The cs rep informed me that the manufacturer changed their sizes (even though the part number was the size) and that is why they took the dimensions off their web page. Consequently, they would not refund the purchase price. So even if she was correct that the manufacturer (who went out of business) did change the size, their customers had no way of knowing it when they attempted to buy from Ira Wood's remaining stock. Quite a scam operation!!! "

"DO NOT SHOP WITH THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY! NON-DELIVERY WAS FIRST PROBLEM. "All these reviews are true. I had placed order before reading these reviews. They had debited my credit card as soon as order was placed but gave expected shipping date to 3 weeks from the time order was placed. After 3 weeks as there was no shipping info, tried reaching customer service. Interestingly there is no direct phone no. to reach customer service, chat doesnt work. So only method to contact customer service is thru email. After registering complaint, received an email saying "This message is being sent as a follow-up to your order status request. As stated in my previous email, the items on your order have yet to complete the shipping process. You have requested I provide you with a estimated ship date. The current estimated ship date for your order is 2/27/2012".. As usual i did not receive any shipping info. I am done with this crap. emailed to cancel my order and refund my payment. "

"I felt compelled to post because I ordered a John Boos cherry table through Amazon.com and then I read these reviews. I was panicked. Actually, I received the table in 2 days and was pleasantly surprised. It came via FedEx and was marked fragile. It was in perfect condition and I saved $250! "

"This company is a scam. I placed an order and immediately received a confirmation email. I ordered Duravit from their website and constantly getting delivery postponement emails. When you call customer service, they give you a name of a person who is "handling" your order and that nobody else can do any changes. In my case the name of the person was Mark Messer. He is only available by chat and very rude if you have already paid the money. I finally got tired of it and informed the cc company of fraud.
If you google map their store address and look at the street view, there is a different plumbing store at that address. Everything about this company is a scam. DO NOT BUY. BUYER BEWARE

"In years past I purchased many Hansgrohe items from Ira Wood & Sons and was pleased with the company. In the summer of 2011 I placed an order for a Hansgrohe product and paid for it by CC when the order was placed. I was promised the product in two weeks and finally requested my money back after 2 months had passed without any sign of the product. After more weeks of attempting to get a refund from their accounting department and customer NO service, I turned the case over to the CC company and was finally credited back the money. This company has really changed for the worse. There is no customer service and the sales department is just a joke. I even complained to Hansgrohe about the service with Ira Wood and Sons. I was able to purchase the product from a local plumbing supply house in Phoenix and it arrived approximately 2 weeks after the order was placed."

"In so many years of positive experience purchasing online I never experienced anything like this. Ira wood is a scam. Customer service does not exist. They will charge you before completing the order and then keep postponing the order until out of desperation you cancel it. Then, without even an apology an automated system will cancel it an you will have to struggle for months to get a refund on something you have never received until you have to involve your credit card company to make the expense ineligible. Telephone calls are not returned, emails are not responded, explanation are not given. Stay away from this company. "

"I highly recommend you stay away from this company as all the reviews on this page are exactly what I have experienced. I placed an order for 3 items and then I placed another order for 2 items. I immediately saw a charge appear on my CC then I received an email saying my 1st order was canceled and I could get no reason as to why. Then i received another email saying my items from the 2nd order had been shipped, but the invoice showed zero items and XX/XX/2012 for the date. It looks like they are a legit company, however they do not appear to behave that way. I also started a chat on 1/3/12 PM with them and they were not professional at all and finally they said customer service would handle it and they just ended the chat for no reason. I should have went with the advice I give people if it looks to good to be true it is. I recommend just to stay away from this company."

"If you don't read my whole review at least read this: stay away from this merchant.
I ordered a set of radiators on 10/1/2011. The estimated delivery date was within a month, which seemed reasonable. I received order confirmation immediately and my credit card was charged on the same day. A few days later I made a small change to the order via chat. No major issues. Shortly after the estimated ship date passed I contacted Ira Woods asking for status. The ship date has been pushed for a month. As the second date came closer and there were no status updates I became concerned. The order was already delayed for 2 months. I checked some reviews here and I was not happy. I decided to wait. Stupid me, they pushed it once more. After the 2rd date passed and new date was given for 1/20/2012 I decided to call manufacturer of the radiators I was informed that there were no open orders with Ira Woods and most of the models were in stock. The lady suggested getting a refund and buying the radiators elsewhere. I contacted Ira Woods immediately and stated that I contacted the manufacturer. They did not respond to that but I was told the shipment was delayed. I tried to remain courteous and asked for a refund. I told them that I expected to get the refund on the same day since that's how fast their billing is. No comments from them. The status was updated to cancelled due to extended lead time. I don't believe they even placed the order with the manufactutrer. Based on the stories I read here I decided not to wait to see what happens with the refund and contacted my credit card. They were happy to open the dispute and in the meantime issued credit to my card and blocked Ira Woods from my account. I'll be filling a complaint against Ira Woods too at ky.gov too.

Update: 1/4/2012
I purchased radiators from anoter online retailer that was recommended by the manufacturer. I had to pay for shipping, but their prices were actually lower. In the end I even saved some money. They had the items in stock and I'll have them in a week or so. I keep my fingers crossed. Thanks to Ira Wood I lost 3 months on my project. Please, don't buy from them. I received money back next day after the cancellation, but I have a feeling that I should thank my credit card dispute agent for that.

"A ZEBRA DOESN'T CHANGE IT's STRIPES!!! STAY AWAY!
I suppose I sound like a broken record, but it's true. ALl of the negative reviews are spot-on. I ordered merchandise on 10/19/11. My credit card was immediately charged (red flag)... items did not come when expected. When I spoke to the "sales rep" he said the items were on backorder (gasp). A while later, I decided to CANCEL the order. That's when I couldn't get any response back from "customer service". I finally turned the matter over to my credit card company - who is graciously handling the matter. All I can say this company is pathetic. If they can't supply merchandise, or give decent customer service, then they have NO BUSINESS being IN business!! Lesson learned.

"Our experience with Ira Wood has been very similar to many of the other reviews here. Initially placed our order for a bathroom vanity on 8/20, and our credit card was duly charged for the item. The invoice indicated that the vanity would be shipped after 9/8. About a week after that, I called about the delivery schedule, and was told it would probably be deliverd late September. When I did not receive it by the end of September, I called again, and was told that the delivery was pushed back to mid-October. Around mid-October, I called yet again, and was now told that the vanity would probably not be shipped until late October. At this point, I called both a supplier in Southern California (near the manufacturer), and was told that they could get the vanity to us in about two weeks, and that they knew the manufacturer had six vanities available because they called while I was on hold. I also called the manufacturer directly, and they also verified that they had six vanities available, but because of confidentially with Ira Wood as their supplier, they could not give me any further information. Long story, short... after two more tries to get the vanity shipped through Ira Wood, I cancelled my order, and ordered through a local company, paid about $150 more (I should have ordered locally the first time). I don't know what the problem is with this company, and don't know how they stay in business. I asked the sales person who I had been dealing with at Ira Wood, if he was aware of the terrible online reputation that his company had, and he said he was aware. I guess they have a nice scam going, because they take your money, and have the use of it (in my case, for almost three months), but don't send your merchandise. I'm also writing to Kentucky Consumer Affairs - they need to realize that their business will shut down, and very well could be investigated for fraud, if they're not careful. "

"I sincerely hope people read and take the advice of these reviews. My recent experience with this company has been the worst I have experienced in recent years. I order 4 items, total around $1350. They said they would be shipped in a week. After numerous calls to get the status of my order, they shipped 2 of the 4 items, but proceeded to charge me the full amount of the order. I then had to fight with them for 3 weeks to get my refund since they still didn't have the other 2 items. And they have only one person in customer service who will not return call. The sales people lie to you about escalating complaints, and do everything they can to get you off the phone so they can serve customers that are waiting to place orders.
Companies like this give the great online companie a bad name.
