No customer service

"This company is great at taking your money and shipping you a product but they seem to **** at everything else. I ordered something and tried to cancel it 20 minutes later. Waiting on the telephone over 30 minutes now and sent several emails...no response. Asked to start a chat and there were no operators available. Motion RC has fantastic C/S."

Very poor aftersales service

"Upon purchasing my dx6r pro, I realised the charging flap was missing. **** happens and just contacted horizon in hope they would send me one. Rick from horizon zouldnt basically give 2dams worth about it, and was willing to charge me postage from the US, mind you on a piece thr size of a dime. Purchased through OMP horizons major dealer. Slowly boycotting them in favor of futaba and traxxas - and yes I own many losi, eflight, spektrum radios (costly computer sort) I hope this helps somebody "

Not helpful at all.

"Gave me some stories about why they wouldn't fix my radio. Said since it had a backlight ( which is very helpful for my eyes ) a mechanical switch doesn't work and has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LIGHT."

buy at the risk of being frustrated and wasting your time

"i ordered parts for rc plane(order#n197552)
i got a email fed ex saying delivery was made but i didnt not receive the package so i called fed ex and fed ex says to call local post office so i called the post office and phone is busy no body is picking up, so now i called horizon hobby and spoke to pam and told her of my situation. she said i should go to post office if its near by and tell them i didnt get the package, so i asked pam do i have to do all the investigation if i dont get my package? she said yes, so i asked her another question, once the package leaves horizon hobby its my responsibility to track it down? she said yes. This has actually happened to me before... post office ended up doing an investigation and when the mail man swears he delivered the package to the my address that was the bottom line. horizon hobby end up resending the package for free. bottom line it not worth anyone's time to order small parts from horizon hobby. i had to call fed ex many times, post office many times and had to call horizon hobby multiple time not worh the frustration and i will not ask horizon hobby to resend my package either, i am done with ordering directly from horizon hobby. all these frustrations for $12 package its non sence.

Didn't get all the parts in a kit

"I ordered a set of 1/4 scale floats and it arrived with no hardware when I called I spoke to a guy named Robert he was telling me it didn't come complete as I told him it did cause I had the book rite in front of me then he told me to just return them from the hobby shop that they shipped the floats to which means they would have to take the hit this was a very ignorant guy so I called the hobby shop I got them from and he said he would get me the hardware one way or another now that's service I will never deal with horizon hobby again they are not there for the customer just our money."

Horizon hobby goes out of its way to rip you off

"Ordered from Horizon the wrong item called the next morning and cancelled, Horizon waited several days then shipped the order. After several calls was told to ship it back which I did the same day . After several weeks of waiting was told they were to busy to issue my refund. Two months later filled paypal claim was told by Horizon I had to close PayPal claim before they would give me the refund , they told me if they did not get the refund from the I could reopen the claim THAT IS A LIE ! Still waiting for refund , watch your back if you do business with these CROOKS !!!!"

Harassing a disabled person

"Doug in tech support manager has been harrasing me since July .lost all my parts for testing.now says too bad sorry.and has asked for countless documents from me.over and over.doug has no business being a manager.i will never shop there again.senior citizens beware."

One of the best online hobby shops

"Now since they purchased Tower hobbies, they are probably the largest online hobby shop. I highly recommend them for any RC car, or airplaine. In many cases they also manufacture their own products that they sell. The Losi brand that they make has been winning races in the Rc car tracks for years. Need an RC car. Go to Horizon Hobby."

VERY PLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!

"This company was extremely easy to deal with and attentive to my situation, I purchased a Recoil 17 boat and had a problem with it and when i contacted customer service/tech support, they had me send some pictures and my receipt and the next day I received an email with a tracking number where a new boat was on its way! I was so pleased at the way they handled the situation, I wish every company had the same ethics."

Shipping service is poor

"My boyfriend & I ordered a classifier from them through Amazon. It supposedly shipped out the following day. It's been over 9 days & still nothing. No one contacted us regarding the shipping. We thought it was being delivered via Fed Ex. After researching this, we discovered the mail carrier was delivering it. Expected delivery was June 19-22 & now we read it will come tomorrow, the 23rd. DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU EXPECT SHIPPING TO HAPPEN IN A TIMELY FASHION."

Lying cheating con artists!

"Bought new os eng. From tower hobbies and had to send to horizon for warranty work, motor almost new, bit they wouldn't help fix the running issue just told me motor was very dirty and full of dirt and sand, on a motor that is shiny and had never been run outside of our warehouse. Tried charging me 170$ to fix a motor that only has 2 qts of fuel threw it and has run like crap since day one, avoid this company like a bad habit!"

Horizon hobby's customer service

"I have had nothing, but great experience with horizon hobby with there products, customer service and tech support in the past.
They are by far not the cheapest, but I did not mind spending the extra money for the above statement. Recently I baught a transmitter from them and had it shipped to me. Long story short, I was told by fedex tracking it would be at my place of work on two different days. So after 10 days and waiting around until 8pm for fedex I decided to check the tracking. It said arrived. It was shipped back to horizon hobby. I got a hold of them and asked to have it shipped back. They refuse my request and told me I would have to re-order the trans and have it re-shipped. After going rounds with customer service I asked if they would at least give me a discount on my order or on the next order since this has been a nightmare and I spend a decent amount of money with them. Even a expedited shipping would have been great. Instead they give me some "points" and say sorry order it again and make sure you have the correct shipping address. Which I did have the correct shipping address and so did they. It was at the fedex drop 15 miles from my place in rout to me and they had it shipped back to them.
Horizon hobby used to be all about their customer support. Now that they have out grown their britches they care less about losing customers.
I will rate horizon hobby's customer service a fair because their tech support has always been great.

Had an issue with a product and Chuck with customer service helped me

"I purchased a Revolution 250 RTF Camera Drone from a local store and couldn't get parts for it after a percussive landing (crash). Having exhausted all my options with the local guy, I called Horizon directly. Chuck was very honest and seemed concerned about my situation. He took an interest in what I was going through and responded quickly to my needs. Chuck single-handedly saved me as a Horizon customer.

I would have given 5 stars if the parts I needed had been available immediately rather than having to contact the company directly. Again, Chuck in customer service saved the day.
