"After placing an order at HomeCenter I encountered this site and saw a lot of poor feedback and unhappy customers. I thought I would post my experience to hopefully help others understand how this company operates.

I placed my order with them as they clearly had the best price on a shower package and I ended up saving about $350. However the good pice comes with some issues that people should be aware of.

In my case the merchant does not stock the item (although you would not know that when you order) so they simply order direct from the manufacturer when they received my order. As a result the shipping times cannot be guranteed by HomeCenter as it depends on stock availability from the manufacturer. It took over 3 weeks + to get the full order (came in 2 parts) and no info on when to expect it until I had sent 2 - 3 messages - even then they had to contact the manufacturer to find out.

Communication in some cases is also poor as mentioned above so if your order does not show up when you are expecting it don't necessarily expect a quick response to your inquiry.

So based on my experience if you are purchasing a high value item and keen to save money and can afford to wait 1 month + for your order you should consider using them. For a low value item where you don't save a lot you might want to consider using another source.

"I recently ordered a Gatco tilting mirror, a towel bar and toilet paper holder from HomeCenter for my remodeled bathroom. The total price for the items was the best that I could find online. The large mirror arrived today, 7/20/2012, and was well packaged with no breakage. The other items were also delivered and were perfect. I highly recommend ordering from HomeCenter."

"I had doubts about ordering something as large as a cast-iron bathtub online, but when my local supply houses all came back with estimates 50% higher than HomeCenter, I cast caution to the winds and ordered. The salesman, Phil was quite patient with me throughout the process, answering each of my questions and assuring me that all would work out; that the disaster I feared would not happen. A lesser man might have become exasperated, but all through the order process, he continued answering my questions, allaying my fears, reassuring me that they were ‘professionals who had done this many times before’. I have worked in retail before, and I doubt I would have handled someone like me with such patience and dedication, were the situation reversed. Despite communicating solely by email, Phil even called me--at my request, and in a timely manner--to answer some questions on the fly.

Everything he told me came true—exactly as he said it would—exactly when he said it would. The delivery driver was very patient and graciously waited, while I opened the crate and inspected the tub.

All in all, the price was great, the customer service complete, and the product beautiful.

"Well i thought I was alone but i am obviously not Mr. Brian the owner and founder of HOMECENTER.COM has no knowledge of how to run a descent operation. First I went to Lowes saw the items i needed. we then went onto HOMECENTERS websight saw the items and ordered. I purchased a jacuzzi tub and the trim kit which we upgraded to Brushed nickel. or so we thought. The items arrived they were grey trim and the drain was chrome. i contacted Brian via email of the mistake. I told him I believe the Model number from Lowes and from his company were different somehow. I also told him i did not get all of the pieces for the trim kit. His response was nice and calm it was. THERE WILL BE A 35% RESTOCKING FEE :O) I told him I only wanted to exchange for the correct finish and get the other missing part of the kit. He offered a 25% restocking fee and was ready to take more of my money for the missing parts. I sent him an email since that is the only way the sneak will comunicate and said i was not pleased. All he wanted to know was it because of his service or the re stocking fee. I made it clear the fee was unfare. I immediately requested the rga to make the return guess what still waiting. And my guess he is a grumpy person that should not be in the business if he is representing a company like kohler. I wonder what they are going to say when I contact them because that is next. My rating for Mr. Brain FAIL- NO STARS.... Had Mr. Brain exchanged my items and waved that rediculous fee that would have been $250.00 FOR WHAT I would have been a satisfied cusutomer and would have over looked the fact my tub came in a torn up box and was filthy dirty with no paper work... instead Mr greedy has to read all the comments. Thanks Brain for your customer service you make kohler look like they suck as you put it........"

"Horrible customer service. Do not provide a phone number promising fast email response then they do not respond to emails for weeks at a time. More than 6 weeks after ordering the items have not yet been delivered. Every time I manage to get a hold of someone I am told it will ship any day now. "

"Complete scam artists! I think the whole company is one guy in his basement. I cancelled an order by email twice within 2 days of placing an order. I received no response, I was billed and the item that I didn't want came 1 month later. Communication with them is impossible. They are trying to charge me for restocking and return shipping and I got my credit card company to reverse charges...I'm not paying for their mistake... I get no apology, no responses to questions. I have never dealt with such unprofessional hacks in my life."

"These guys are total shysters! I ordered a light fixture and paid shipping. As others have said, the funds were immediately transferred from my account. Over a month later still no product. Ended up turning them into the fraud department at my bank and had to have them take action in order to get my money back. Tried communicating with seller but out of 10 emails only received one on average never could get them to actually commit. Do not buy from this seller!"

"Too slow and too expensive. It was two weeks before they shipped the item and took another week to receive it. The box was crushed and torn, but the product was fortunately undamaged. Two of my inquiries about the status of the order went without response. Since they charged $34.95 S&H on a $43.92 item, you would think they would send it in a timely manner and packaged appropriately. I'll never shop here again and would not recommend it to anyone else.

"In April and May 2012, we made two purchases of upper end Kohler bath fixtures from HomeCenter. In both cases, I was quite disappointed in that I did not receive what was pictured in their ad. The first order was for a Kohler Shower head. Their website shows the showerhead AND shower arm. When the showerhead arrived, the shower head was missing. Nowhere on their site did it state that the 8” shower arm was an additional $80.00. Next I ordered a deck mount tub faucet assembly which illustrates riser pipes coming through the deck surface. When the faucet arrived, it was missing the riser pipes which are costing me another $140.00. The Kohler web site clearly states these items are separate items and are not included with the main unit. The HomeCenter web site does not inform their clients of these issues; therefore, costing the customer substantially more than what they had budgeted plus all of the extra time delays involved.

When I complained to HomeCenter, their response was…. “Sorry to hear that you're upset. You should be happy to know that you got by far the best price on these items.”

Wouldn’t a better response have been, “Sorry to hear that you’re upset. You are correct. We don’t clearly indicate what items are or are not included with your purchase price. We will immediately take steps to correct that problem”.

HomeCenter does have good prices but their customer service is nearly non-existent. They don’t even publish a phone number for you to call. You must send an email and “maybe” you will get a return call in a day or so.

"ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I ordered 8 faucets for over $4,000, which they billed my credit card for within minutes of the order. 3 weeks later, there were no faucets. And, I had actually paid to have some of them expedited. They list no phone number so I emailed them for updates, and I got the basic run-around. I finally had to tell them to cancel the order (which they claimed they could not do), that I would refuse shipment if they did arrive and that I wanted the charges reversed...that is when they simply stopped responding to my email. I finally had to file a dispute with my credit card company to recover my costs."

"Price was great but communication was terrible! I emailed them after 3 days to see where my faucet was but no one got back to me. Their website says that most products ship within 1-2 business days but mine didn't arrive until 1 week later. We were living without water in our bathroom sink and were eager to get the faucet and with no phone number to contact the company and no response to my 2 emails, I was getting worried. Not sure if I would order from them again."
