"I ordered a HP IPAQ HX2795 from Gizmos2go. This is the listing on their website:

They claimed that it was a basically new unit with all of the accessories. What they sent me was an IPAQ that shuts down at random times and is hard to restart. A USB Cradle that is not the HP and the IPAQ does not seat well in it. They sent a Palm carrying case and a home made CD. It was not packed in the HP box.

I called HP for support and they said that the wararnty expired in 4/07. Obviously this vendor didn't check the IPAQ out and the old owner's information was still in it. HP suspects a worn out battery! Obviously it is not a new unit used in a trade show as they claim.

Gizmos2go does not have a phone number where you can talk to a human. I was able to send an email. I got a response saying that if I sent the unit back (at my expense) they would send me another one. I don't trust them given what they advertised vs. what they sent me. I told them to send me another unit and I would send the defective one back.

I would take any positive review with a grain of salt. They offer a reward for entering positive reviews.

Another strange thing happened. It may be just a coincidence. I rarely ever use the credit card that I used for this purchase and have never had any trouble when I have used it. The day after I ordered the IPAQ, I got an email from amazon.com telling me that someone tried to set up an account and order items using my credit card number was used. Also a strange charge using the card showed up when I checked my account on line. Again, this may be a coincidence that had nothing to do with this order, but I don't know.

If they send me a working IPAQ with genuine accessories and packaging, I will update this review.

"The WORST experience in Internet shopping, ever.
I order a battery for my IBM T42 laptop. The battery never worked. I asked for a refund, then for a supervisor or somebody from customer support to talk to. Always the same response by email: send the battery back. It has not been possible to talk to anyone over the phone.
Somebody from the Commerce Department should investigate this company thoroughly. I bet they will find many irregularities. They should ban them from doing business and force them to refund for all defective products sent.
I wish I had read the reviews before buying. Clearly I am not alone in my bad experience.

"At Gizmos2go I have ordered replacement batteries for my jornadas 620lx and 680 because I do not get them here in Germany. The outcome was most dissatisfying: The replacement batteries are not the correct ones and - most of all - they are old and already used!! Unfortunately I do not get into my account at Gizmos2go any more and the return policy (7 days) is not applicable to me. I wonder how this company - with all the bad ratings - does get along.
I surely will never buy anything any more at Gizmos2go.

They sent me a defective product. I returned it asking for a complete refund. They have refused. I have filed a complaint with the Attn. Gen. here in Minnesota.

"I received an iPaq hx4700 from Gizmos2Go that had a defective microphone. The shipment was at least a day later than it should have been. The accessories I ordered were not included correctly. I submitted support tickets several times over several months to them and always received an automated response with a "send it back" message or one that did not answer my questions about replacing the defective unit. The tickets were always marked with a status of "closed" in the first response. The link in the response e-mail that was to be used to reply to the response lead to a web page that said I was "not authorized". When the on-line store eventually said that they did not have any more hx4700's I was concerned that they might try to "replace" mine with something else or give me store credit which I was not interested in. When I asked for a confirmation that they could in fact replace the defective unit they said I should return it for repair. When I pushed the issue of not getting answers to my questions, they said that I may now have to "pay a fee" because the warranty was about to run out. When I submitted a HIG PRIORITY COMPLAINT to customer service, I just got the automated "send it back" message.

All of their statements about having good customer service and being easy to deal with are LIES. Their merchant ratings are so high because they give incentives to customers to submit a positive review.

If the product works - great. Otherwise KISS YOUR MONEY GOOODBYE!!!

"Very dissapointed in the level of service and support. Purchased a Tungsten E2 Demo model. Recieved a demo model in poor shape and NOT the E2, but the E model. Notified them immediately and was informed to ship it back and they would replace it with the correct item. Never once did they mention to request an RMA for return shipping. Spent $8.50 on shipping. Told replacement item had shipped, 2 weeks later nothing, told to wait, 5 more days, ask again. They discover it was never shipped! Had repeadly asked about reimbursement for my shipping costs. No response. Finally notified they don't reimburse ever for shipping costs and I should have requested an RMA. Finally got a refund for item minus original shipping. Out $12 + $8.50 for their mistake. If a company can't stand behind their service, don't do business with them. No attempt was made to try to correct the problem or work with me. Asked over and over to speak with a supervisor via email or phone. none available.

I guess it goes back to you get what you pay for and some times pay and don't get!

"I ordered a 4ht generation iPod from Gizmos2Go. When the iPod arrived it did not work. The case was scratched. It looked to be refurbished rather than a "Demo" model. I returned the unit. I was given a "store credit" minus the shipping cost.
About ten days later I ordered a 5th generation iPod. After I sent them an email 10 days later, I learned that the 2nd order was back ordered. I canceled the 2nd order. I have asked for a refund of my money. Gizmos2Go has ignored my request.

"WORST merchant I ever did business with. It's now been almost 2 months and 2 defective products (extended battery & cover for a cell phone). The last one that I sent back requesting delivery confirmation, delivery was attempted, note left and still no response a week later. Meanwhile I asked my credit card company to intervene since they're consistently not responsive, almost impossible to contact directly & not by phone. Check their website: you just go around in FAQ hell. Meanwhile I went & ordered from another merchant and received a functional product within days while I still await closure from these criminals. And I did check reviews before I ordered first time! Bottom Line: while some folks get lucky & don’t get screwed, they're awful, took 2 weeks just to ship out defective products and there are no people you can deal with. Pay more & get a good product from a reliable merchant. I wasted more time than money. These people are the "mean people suck" in bumper stickers!"

"I would not make another purchase from this merchant, nor would I recommend them to anybody. I ordered 2 replacement phone batteries for international delivery. I was a little taken aback by a $40 shipping and handling charge on a $17.76 order but assumed it was to be applied to courier or expedited delivery. When the package arrived, I was shocked to discover that it had been sent by USPS for a total cost of $6.30. An email to customer service led to no satisfaction - apparently the $33.70 price discrepancy is a "handling" charge. By any standards, this is an extortionate amount to charge for handling. I will certainly be taking the "customer service" agent up on their suggestion to "Please buy stuff from other stores next time". "

"I was very disappointed with the product Gizmos2go sent. They state that the item was used for 1-2 weeks. It looks like it is several years old. They did not send the original Sony packaging. I will try the item out for the next couple of days and if I find any operational short comings, it will be returned and I expect a full refund for both the PDA and the extended warranty.

Also your shipping was very slow!

Not a good experience!!!!

"It was a terrible experience. I had to place my order for Sony Clie 3 (three!) times, because each time they responded that "the products was out of stock" AFTER the order was placed and the confirmation emails received.
Eventually they emailed me that the product was not in stock (which became normal for me to receive such emails), but there was a ray of hope there - they said that they have a similar product but $30 dearer. I agreed to pay that extra $30, and they asked me to send them fax copies of my credit card and personal ID, which i did 15 minutes after i received that email.
They confirmed that the fax was received and the PDA would be shipped shortly, and i never heard back from them since then. After some emails, i finally started to worry that i was scammed to by them and this whole "business" was just to get my CC details. I emailed them with my concern, and they responded back to me saying that my order will be cancelled.
Beware buyers! Do not trust the "shop" that doesn't publish any contact information except an email!
