"The Levono v570 is undoubtedly the worst computer I have ever owned or worked on. It runs slower than my 7 year old Toshiba laptop and it reliably freezes during start up. Levono has convinced me never to buy other one of their laptop ever again; likely I will never buy another PC again. Furthermore, the futureshop IT support has been completely useless. Despite buying an extended warranty, futureshop has done nothing to fix this problem. The best they have been able to offer is to restore the harddrive, which takes them 3 weeks since they have to ship it away to perform this very simple task. The employees at futureshop have demonstrated a severe lack of knowledge and exceedingly poor customer service."

"Purchased a Boston acoustics sub and 5 speaker package with a 9 year warrantee which they pushed at sale point. A year and a half in the sub stopped powering up. Took it in and after my continued call they said the unit was damaged and void warrantee. I told them there was no physical damage when it was dropped off,it would not power up. One week later they called and yes they would cover it. I called one week later and they said it's too expensive to repair, bring in the whole package for replacement. Had to have it out with a manager because speaker are all mounted with two extra I had bought 200 miles away and I would not tear it down. I wanted a comparable replacement. Finally agreed. Here's the best when I picked it up they wanted to sell me a new warrantee because my 9 year one is now void??? Scammers all of them."

"Ordered an Ooma telephone with free bluetooth adaptor, the adaptor usually does not come with the telephone but for the last few months it was a combined special ...so I ordered it.

The adaptor did not arrive with my online order. I have set the phone up and it works fine. Have contacted them several times and they want me to send the phone (which is now programmed) back so that they can resend me the phone and adapter, what an inconvenience ant time waste. Why not just send the adapter ???????????

"Oh lets see what story should I start with... I bought a computer from futureshop and it died after a couple of years (ok fine not the end of the world) and I brought it back for diagnosis and repair. A few weeks later I thought it was strange no one had contacted me back, I tried phoning and got nothing but being passed on, permanently put on hold and hung up on. I drove over and thought maybe if I was in person someone would help me... ahahah nope. After finally getting help after 30 minutes they told me they hadn't looked at my computer yet... Several more unsuccessful store visits, phone calls and months later they finally called me back and told me the motherboard was broke and it would be $750 and months to fix it. In the months it took them to phone me back my computer knowledge had advanced as they seemed unable to help me so I took it on my own to understand computers. $750 was a rip off I knew by then so I said, "$750?! I can get a better motherboard for $120? Don't fix it, give my computer back so I can salvage the parts." Oh and this is the good part, I drove over waited for 30 minutes for someone to help me, I drove the computer home and opened the case guess what? My video card was missing!!! oh and my hard drive was swapped out for a cheaper model?! I brought the computer back furious demanding my computer parts (did they think I was like most people and didn't know if my computer parts were missing)? So I put the computer back in my car and drove back to future shop again... after another 30 mintues they helped me said ok sorry we put them back in, this time I opened the case immeditaly as I didn't want to drive to future shop 3 times that day and guess what? They put a video card back in that looked simular but was probably half the price of mine! Third time I threatened to phone the police and they found it. In no way was I unreasonable or angry or raise my voice despite them trying to trick me, make me wait, make me drive all over the city but I was treated and talked to as I was a lunatic about to shoot the place up!

I've had several other interesting experiences:

-told they had item in stock (on phone and internet) drive there and then they don't have it
-had sales person goto the back to get stock then disappear
-been told things about a product that were faulse or inaccurate
-I had one sales guy who transitioned between real facts and untrue facts then if you went along beliving any of the untrue facts he would burst out laughing at you and say just joking, wow only freaks like this at futureshop
-I could go on and on but eventually i discovered online purchaing and smaller electronic stores which have superior customer service and pricing

"Bought an iphone at xmas for my daughter, was asked if I wanted to buy the "insurance" to cover what apple doesn't. I was specifically told that it would cover my daughter dropping or breaking the phone in anyway. When told that I JUMPED at the chance to purchase the "insurance", teens are always breaking their phones. I'm not stupid, had I not been told it would cover breaking the phone I wouldn't have purchase it - guess that's why they lied since I said no 3 times before the sale rep said that. I was also told I could cancel at anytime.
Well my daughter broke her phone the other day, went to future shop to get it fixed. Was told it doesn't cover physically damage etc., I then phoned to cancel the "insurance" and was told it's a warranty and I'm stuck with it for 3 years - $14.99 x 36 months 539.64 for a phone that cost me $0.00! Supervisor told me "if a customer chooses not to read the packaging in the first 30 days it's not their problem"

Unbelievable response by an employee and horrible customer experience. I was told by the "supervisor" she's been employeed with Future Shop for 7 years and is well aware of what the program is. Was knowledgeable of course, to the point of condescension, helpful to the point of being insulting. I am completely disappointed with the lack of resolution to this matter. They told me to go back to the store and speak to the manager. Store tells me to call warranty department, warranty department tells me to call store. They have definitely lost me as a customer but they don't care, I'm only 1 person, sad.

"Bought a dishwasher today at Future Shop Fairview Montreal. Price for this model in the store was $549.99. The same dishwasher on the web was $499.99 Called the store and they told me to come get a credit for the difference. They have price match guarantee. The price match guaranteed is for other stores, not only from there own web site.
WE CANNOT TRUST FUTURE SHOP ANYMORE FOR PRICES..........I wanted an extended warranty on the dishwasher today they were unable to do it as there was something wrong with there computers. Have to go back twice..very unsatisfied with them.

"My wife and I purchased appliances, $3000 worth of washing machine and dryer some 4 and 1/2 years ago. This was at the Northlands store in Northwest Calgary. We have had nothing but major problems with these machines since the day we bought them. Motherboards, faulty parts etc. The time we purchased them they were offering an in store promotion of a free TV. Some 4 and a half years later, we still have never received our free TV, the machines have been replaced at a loss to us. Luckily we took out the extra warranty. We had such a traumatic experience with the machines we put the TV matter aside. We have asked Future Shop to honor the promotion but as history has shown, it's another nightmare we have to go through in order to prove to them such a promotion was being given away. Futureshop should know themselves simply by looking through the records of promotions but no we are being treated like crap, for want of better words! It's a bad case of dishonor, bad business practise and false promoting. It's not up to us to prove that such a promotion was in fact happening. Future shop should know dam well that it was in deed happening. I would never recommend anyone go to Future Shop, the treatment we got was a complete nightmare.

The Better Buisnees Bureau has been dealing with our case but to no customer satisfaction being accomplished with Future Shop.

If this is the way Future Shop treat customers then it's time the public should know. It's not the TV that we are upset about it's the dishonorable and bad businees practise in fact it's darn right dishoest and bad faith business all round.

"Bought a Gateway Laptop from Futureshop at 7700 Markham Road, Markham, Ontario. Operating System crashed within a couple of weeks. I took it back to return - The store refused to take it back because according to them "it wasn't in the original condition". I had lightly used it over the couple of weeks and it was in perfect condition. They reinstalled the OS and I brought it back.

I have consistently seen and heard of stories that at the time of selling an item the Futureshop Reps would give you all kind of assurances that you can bring back an item within 14/30 days if you are not happy with it, but if you actually do, they would make a thousand excuses to not accept returns.

I might as well buy much cheaper from several other stores which do not accept returns and make it clear in the beginning.

Futureshop Return Policy is complete Fraud.

"I bought some hearphones in May 2011 ($29.99) and paid $$9.99 for warranty. One of the hearphones stopped working so I went to Future Shop to ex-change them for the same brand...... well, for my surprise they said they can't ex'change them, I need to call some 800 number, send the damaged hearphones to them and they will send me a gift card!!!! who's paying for mailing the damage goods??? I'll never shop at Future Shop again!!!!"

"I have been a pretty consistent Future Shop customer for a number of years now and have bought several high priced and low priced items. It has always been clear to me that the customer service at Future Shop is almost non-existent so when I shop there I try to avoid interaction with an sales associate. I recently was forced to deal with the operations manager and customer service manager at a Future Shop location and after which I am confident to say that it was the WORST experience I have ever had in a retail environment. There is no doubt that I will never purchase from Future Shop again, and if you value customer service and not being treated like your only as good as the money you have then I'd advise you refrain from shopping there too."

"Good selection and competitive in-store pricing at the downtown store in Montréal. However, a big dent was done by the female sales rep who tried to do an upsell. Her story was that 1) we should buy an "installation" of updated drivers and Windows updates, because not all the drivers were installed, and that 2) we should buy a Windows install backup medium since there were not installation backup files that came with the computer. These were issues she made very clear, as I didn't believe it and asked her if she was serious. Total BS; I completely refused to believe those assertions so of course I didn't bite on the upsell. And once the computer was bought and home, it turned out that all the drivers were installed properly, and that there was a neatly separated hard drive partition containing the system-restore files. In other words, the rep was outright lying. It's ok to try an upsell, but not with lies. Overall, a good store for the knowledgeable customer, but the novice may be taken for a ride."

"Pre-ordered a PS3 game (Uncharted 3) that was promised to be shipped on release date, and two days AFTER release date, the game hasn't shipped and the game is sold out even though almost every other retailer has plenty of stock. How such a large retailer like FutureShop can't manage to get enough stock to fill pre-orders is absolutely terrible.

Just as bad is their customer support. All I get is a "we're sorry" and "it will ship ASAP". I've had issues with ordering from other retailers and they at least gave me a small compensation for their broken promises. Futureshop gave me nothing. If you even offered me a small discount coupon I would've been happy. It's just the principle that they made a broken promise offered nothing for it.

"As the news hit that HP dropped 75% off the price of their tablet, I dug up a link to Best Buy where it could be ordered. Reason to do so, is that I work 2 months a year in Montréal Canada and the tablet is not available in Europe (Netherlands).

So I place the order and get a confirmation. So far so good.

This morning I find an e-mail that an information update is required for the order: I have to call with the phone known with my credit card company. Which is, a Dutch Mobile phone, so no toll free and international rates.

It takes 4 calls and half an hour to get connected. After you go through the menu, the line just kept silent for minutes and minutes.

Then it takes another 10 minutes to get to the point that they realize I ordered with an International Credit Card - sorry, we don't take those. Company policy.

So, then arrange that you automatically discard or be clear about in on the site or confirmation e-mails. Because of the dump prices of this HP Tablet, it's sold out everywhere now. There was no way to use another payment option, nothing. Just a bureaucratic wall - a friendly one by the way, that was the positive note.

Thank you very much, "Best Buy" for giving me a huge phone bill and take away the last opportunity to buy one of those tablets.
