Trying to Charge me with extra $154

"Trying to Charge me with extra $150 just for move the pallet 15 feet with my help!!!
3 months ago request a service to transport a pallet from a wholesale company to my business address(house), I was very clear about the destination(a house), normally I use the same service without problem but this time they sent me extra invoice 2 months later for delivering inside, to be clear the driver just push the pallet with my help to my driveway...around 15 feet from the truck.

From one business owner to another, just dont.

"Dont use them. Period.

I'm a business owner and ship approx $200-250K per year in combined shipping (parcel, crates, ltl, etc) and have shipped with multiple shippers over the years and these guys are the worst. Stay away.

My scales are certified every 30 days and dead accurate. We always add a few extra pounds to each BOL just to cover bases but we constantly got these double weight overcharges and they take the money out of your account first, then you have to fight for months to get it back even if you have all the proof.

What broke our relationship was a shipment of 2 custom hand made tables worth $12,500 for my client and over the course of a month, lost it. It was only going 300 miles.Its a 2 day delivery tops. I even paid an additional $500 for another truck through them to go pick it up and drive it to my now extremely upset client and they kept that money as well. Took weeks to get a return phone call or email and then it was "well, just wait for our decision in 120 days".

Some of the reps are friendly but its the infrastructure and lack of accountability that makes this company a huge liability for shipping. From one small business owner to another, dont. There are lots of other options.

agreed on $251 and paid them, month later they charged my account $537

"Delivered my shipment which cost me $251 and month later got a charge for $537 for weight issue. product was only $630 that I shipped. I have contacted them several times to get this resolved without any response back. I had the delivery sitting in my garage for over a week and once I opened it there was damage and also a part was missing. I have no unable to file a claim with them for that as it's only 48 hours to file a claim. I emailed them on this without any response. Now I get a charge of $537 additional for this.

Bad company stay way.

"Should have read reviews prior, paid them $1,000.00 in full prior to shipping pallets, 6 weeks after the fact they sent a bill for another $4700.00 due to fact item was over weight, total lie, this company tries this with most off there clients, have no idea how they are still in business. stay away bad company."

Unauthorized Updated bill

"Pick up came 7hours before target window, so that package was not properly packed (windsurf board, sale and mast which should be inside a windsurf bag). Windsurf bag had the original dimensions pre agreed and paid -370$- (including the extra weight). The client, 8.5m pregnant woman asked kindly to be helped to place the items inside the bag. The delivery guys said no need to, no Worries. They wrapped all items, no measured in front of client and left. 5 weeks later an updated charge of over 200$ saying the dimensions are different. "

Bait & Switch

"They are billing me $239 two weeks after I paid and my product shipped. They said it was for wrong class number and extra weight. The fact is, my actual shipment weighed less than what I paid for and the class number was not determined by me, but it was determined by the Freight Center agent I spoke with that assisted me on the phone. So they are charging me more for weight when they should be charging me for less, and they are charging me for their mistake of assigning the wrong class number. Looks like this is a common practice of theirs and you can see for yourself if you research reviews on this company. Imagine the thousands of dollars they are scamming people out of who just give in and pay it. Trying to dispute and resolve this with them has been very frustrating and taken me away from my work. If this takes anymore of my time, I will consider a class action lawsuit as it looks like there are many other people that they've done this to. Will charge your for other services you did not ask for

"We used FC for a 1 pallet shipment. We did not request a lift gate at the delivery address. Then the trucking company decides to deliver it with a lift gate. Then try to charge us $200+ for a liftgate we did not request.

Called both FC and YRC and no one know who requested and just trying to bill us for it.

Dont use this company they are just a 3rd party. Better to just go direct.

BEWARE!!!

"
We are wholesalers of jewelry. Everything we ship fits in very small boxes so we usually use only UPS and USPS.

The ONLY item we ship using a freight company is one large display that UPS always break into pieces so we decided to pay more and ship it freight.
We always ship just this specific display with the same exact measurements and shipped it many time times before using Freight Center so looking at all our past shipment with them, the same exact shipment, in the same class and the same measurements as in this time we shipped with them.

We received a quote for $250 and shipped the item. After a month we received an extra charge of approximately $250 saying that the item was more than double the weight we gave.
Obviously there was a mistake done and we tried to contact our Rep that was unprofessional. He said he submitted a claim in our name but we didn’t hear back from him and he didn’t answer our calls.

Only when we received a reminder about our “open balance” from Kim and I called her, she was the first professional and knowledgeable person in the company to actually be nice enough to try to help us solve this issue.
She said that no claim was submitted (like our rep claimed) and she helped us submit a claim.
Unfortunately, even after talking to her, we still didn’t get an update or even a response and found out they charged our card without our permission.

Today, 5 month later, we still didn’t hear anything back about our claim.
They fraudulently charged us $250 and we have no way to talk to anyone the dispute this charge.
We have been trying to solve this issue from November 2018, as we believed it was a human mistake that could be easily resolved and corrected and we have all the document supporting our claim along with all our past shipment, showing we only use them to ship one kind of shipment.
We also suggested to go back to where they shipped the item to and weigh the display if they don’t believe us or our documentation.
We are not asking to get anything but resolving this injustice situation that is so easy to prove wrong.

" Told me 7-21 days but took over 30 days. Never would send updates! Never would return calls or emails! Found out they Sub-contracted the transport to another company. Only could get information and updates through them! NEVER USE THEM!"

Beware. Read this before using Freightcenter to ship anything!

"They sell you on one shipping cost, after delivery they charge you more.

Apparently we are not the only ones who have had this experience with Freightcenter.

We shipped tile supplies from Oregon to Colorado with them. The sales reps are very friendly and seem to be working to get you a great deal on your shipping rate (which was lower than everyone else, or so it seemed). Everything goes according to plan until after the shipment has arrived, and weeks later Freightcenter emails an invoice claiming the shipment weighed more than we told them it would be. They then charge our credit card again. For us it was 30% more than we originally agreed to.

We disputed the charge. The tile company had shipped the very same product many times and knew the weight exactly, which they documented for us. Freightcenter did a cursory and very slow (6 weeks to get an answer) process of supposedly submitting the claim to Saia, the actual shipper. In the end they said that the weight was higher. Period. At this point the shipment had arrived and been unpacked and there was no way to verify the weight at our residence.

Freightcenter did not contact us during shipment, which would be the appropriate thing to do. Freightcenter makes you sign an agreement when you ship that basically says they can charge you any amount at any time. Of course probably no one pays much attention to this (we didn't). But if you try to fight it that is what they will throw back at you. Does it make it legal? Arguable. Is it scam? It sure seems so. Beware this company.


Oh, and there was some damage as well, but in the end we decided to get on with our lives. Unfortunately, I imagine that this is the Freightcenter business model: Give the customer a 'great rate' for shipping. Then later charge them more and act like it is the customer's fault for giving them the wrong shipping weight (which can't be verified after arrival), then pretend there is a claim process and that this isn't just the way they do business. In the end, the customer pays more than shipping with a reputable company such as Fedex, which is what we would do if give the chance again.

Worst Company ever

"Terrible Experience. I paid for my shipment and after it was done they hit me with a bill almost double what I paid. After sending them a manufacturer spec sheet to prove the weight of my item they still said I owed them. Got my account turned into collections and now it’s hurting my credit. Would advise anyone and everyone to stay far away from this dishonest bully of a company!!!!!!!!!"

DON'T USE THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!

"DON'T USE THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!! I'm a disabled vet from the Army and I would never treat any of my customers like this. They were rated the cheapest out of 11 companies for a delivery. They stated 9 days to deliver from California to Florida. It took 14 days to arrive as they said that this was usual and to be expected. I let it go and figured maybe next time would be better. 3 months later I get a bill saying my load was 600lbs over. This was clearly impossible as I bought coffee and tea packaged products from a vendor. We never got any extra product so it's impossible to be over 600 lbs when it was only 2,300 lbs total. I asked for proof of this claim and they sent an in-house weighed certificate showing an extra $300 was being charged. I asked for pictures, proof other than this certificate and more importantly why wait 3 months to say this. If they would have contacted me immediately after it being weighed, once it arrived I would have documented everything with pictures and more. Instead they wait this long for you to have everything unloaded and sold, sent elsewhere, etc. I should have paid attention to the reviews. We pick up tons of product across the country and I can see they rather take $300 over any future business. I highly suggest read the complaints and comments as it's a gamble to use this company."

Horrible Fee Scammers

"Horrible service
Horrible service. Beating customers out of money with trumped up fees. I used FreightCenter to deliver something to another state and they contracted the service to SAIA trucking. They asked me did I know the weight of the item I would be shipping so they could determine the quote and I did because I had weighed it myself. I took the item to SAIA myself to save money on them having to pick the item up. I personally watched the warehouse supervisor put the item on the pallet, wrap it, and weigh it and was given the official bill of lading which had the description of item, weight, and signature of the warehouse supervisor. SAIA did an excellent job. The item made it to the destination on time in excellent condition. 2 weeks later FreightCenter charged my credit card saying the item weighed more than the weight I had given originally. But as I said before, i had weighed the item and watched SAIA weigh it and it was the same weight i had given FreightCenter, not to mention it was the same weight on the bill of lading that I had which was official and signed by the SAIA warehouse supervisor. FreightCentrer said I had to file a dispute and I basically just sent the picture of the bill of lading showing the weight I had given them was the correct weighr. Weeks later, they informed me I had lost the dispute ( not surprised) because they had a different weight from the SAIA warehouse where the item was sent that was more than the one in question. So they made their decision using the evidence more favorable to them. Imagine how many customers they use this on. Lots of extra money huh?
