the WORST runaround and no delivery

"One Word...NONONONO
Good inventory and prices if you are lucky enough to receive your order.
This company is so jive that I actually called my bank and cancelled my Credit Card after giving 3 different representatives my cc# then never received my CD's.
I had to call and ask where my Merch was and they said they cancelled each order due to a "systems glitch" and to re-order.
Then they sent me an insulting email saying they chose to cancel my order because their "LOSS PREVENTION DEPARTMENT" considered me a "risk"!

PayPal is an option but will not work with them.
That means you must give your Credit Card info.
Then you get an order confirmation email and then all communication STOPS until you call to follow up on where your shipment is.

I'm so relieved that I cancelled my credit card..i have zero trust in this company and am happy NOT to support their incompetent way of doing business...luckily I lost no $.

Never received the order.

"I ordered cds from them and never received anything but they charged my credit card. they keep telling me they have shipped it. They have even given me two tracking numbers. The numbers show the shipment was never received by USPS. Total rip off. I am trying to get money back from credit card company."

Horrible customer service

"If you get your order in damaged be prepared to go thru a lot
of trouble, they said once they receive the damaged items back
it can take up to 30 days for them to send a replacement.
This was for a gift so now I have to order from another
site to get it in time. I will never use Deep Discount again.

Mostly good, but don't back order.

"Okay so I've purchased from them three times. And i've noticed that anything that says backorder you probably won't get. I ordered one back order CD and after about a month of waiting, I received an email stating that they couldn't get it in stock, so they refunded me back my money to my paypal. That was on my first order, so after that I proceeded to stay away from anything that is backorder.

If it just says add to bag then it usually means it's in stock, from what I have experienced. On both of my orders I have gotten free standard shipping, and they seem to ship out of pennsylvania. I live in Oklahoma and they usually take 8-9 days to get to me. The packaging is iffy, like they don't use bubble wrap, they just throw it in cardboard and hope for the best.

I did just preorder something that comes out later this month so we shall see how their preorder works.

Deep Discount Doubles Down

"Similar story: longtime Deep Discount customer, spent thousands in the past, put up with their backorder/preorder bait & cancel, and noticed them coordinating with other DirectToU “competitors” to the point where deals are now few and far between. But those rare deals were still good enough to keep ordering until recently.

I ordered four items. They could only get one, but cancelled the order instead, sending a vague email. I later asked about the order status, and they lied about why they cancelled the order, claiming the title was no longer in their database. I pointed out that it was in stock, and I wanted it for the same price (they had increased the price). They told me to reorder, and then they would refund the price difference. I reordered at the new price of $34.45, the original price was $29.99, so the difference was $4.46. They replied that my refund was only $0.77, but I could cancel if I wanted to. I told them if they could not refund $4.46, I wanted to cancel. Oops, it already shipped, but I could return it at my expense. Maybe add some insurance, in case it gets lost.

So how did they calculate the $0.77 refund? Instead of using the advertised price, they used the discounted price from the original order. There was a $5 off $25 promo code that was allocated between the four items originally ordered. But three items were out of stock, so the $5 discount should have been reallocated to the one item they could obtain. Deriving value from goods or services not provided is more than just fraud; it’s theft. I disputed the charge on my credit card and got my $4.46 refund by winning the case.

So you can hold your nose and place your order. Just hope you never have to deal with customer service. They will gleefully draw you in and then pull out the rug, doubling down with each exchange.

UPDATE: Won the battle, but lost the war. Import CDs is now cancelling my orders because they fail to get credit approval. Turns out they use the same DirectToU customer service unit, and I can’t get approved until I knuckle under. Call me old-fashioned, but I’d rather not do business with people who routinely scam their customers.

UPDATE2: Blowitoutahere switched to the same DirectToU customer service unit, and is now cancelling my orders. By now, I'm guessing any DirectToU sponsored website uses these slimeballs to handle all their CS issues, so good luck to all you satisfied customers.

Disgusted

"I bought a movie for my sisters birthday, 2 weeks in advance. I knew it might not come on time, but when I never received any updates, I contacted the company. They let me buy an item that was OUT OF STOCK without letting me know the item was out of stock. They also then told me that they have no idea when the item will be back in stock-so they took my money with no intentions of letting me know they didn't even have it in stock.
They at least got back to me within 8 hours, but then told me they didn't even know when the item would be back in stock. I am still waiting on a response about refunding me my money and I will update with another review once I hear back.

Great website, incredible prices

"I was a bit skeptical about purchasing from this website, after seeing so many awful reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised at how well my transaction went. I ordered 2 vinyl records, both of which arrived in perfect condition, two days ahead of schedule. My only mild complaint is that the website doesn't accurately describe the color of their vinyl. One of my records was described as being 'black', but the version I received was red. But other than that, I will absolutely purchase from them again, "

Use to be a good place to buy from NOT so much anymore

"I have shopped here for a few years with no issues but they have now cancelled an order for a special item I paid for when I ordered a few months ago after I ask a status update. They never replied to my inquiry, I just received an email for a refund. I sent a few messages about this to there many company names but they are not getting anything back (DirectToU, LLC, http://www.deepdiscount.com, ****@****). Reading the reviews it seems that this is normal business practices for this company today. I paid on NOV. 9th 2017 why charge my CC for something you don't have?? I am happy that you did give a refund 2 months later.
Sorry and good luck with your company I will not shop here again.

Cancelled Order Before Release Date

"Had a limited edition blu-ray on pre-order. Four days before the release date, they sent me an email saying the movie wasn't in stock and that I was to be issued a refund. Another smaller retailer who doesn't know how to cap orders and remove product availability before their stock runs out. Won't risk buying from them again."

The only reason I am giving DeepDiscount one star is because there isn't a negative 5 star.

"DeepDiscount sent me a DVD I ordered, but it was in European format, and it would not play in any of my DVD players. They e-mailed me a return label and I sent it back to them. When I called them to find out why the credit had not been issued I was told that the DVD worked fine, and there was nothing wrong with it. Then "David" told me they never received it. I ended up contacting Barnes and Noble because I bought it on their marketplace website. I talked to a supervisor, Myrna, at DeepDiscount, and she told me they are not responsible for processing the return, even though they are the ones that e-mailed me the prepaid return label, and that I had to contact B & N. Three different times I contacted B & N for help with getting a refund. The B & N supervisor was finally able to get DeepDiscount to begin the refund process. It is supposed to be processed in the next 1-2 billing cycles, so for the next month or two this matter will be "pending." If DeepDiscount was the last vendor on earth, I'd never purchase anything again. From now on, I will be shopping on Amazon, but never, ever, with DeepDiscount. Vendor honesty is paramount in my book. "

Cancelled My Order - Never Notified Me

"After two weeks of not hearing where my order was, I sent an inquiry by email...no response. So I call customer service to see where my order is (it's a birthday gift) and he tells me the order was cancelled because they couldn't verify my address with the bank. My address hasn't changed in over 10 years...but that's beside the point. I asked why nobody called me to update me ... he said he didn't know but it was cancelled and he was sorry. I WAS a first time customer....turns out I'm a LAST time customer too."
