"Update - It's now June 5, 2004 and I can tell you without a doubt that these guys are crooks! STAY AWAY FROM DVCENTURY.COM. The reviews you see here are TRUE. Spread the word. DVCentury.com will steal your money. They will sell you a defective item, when you return it,they will NEVER send you a replacement or a refund. Although they will promise to do so, they will not ever come through. I have started a campaign against these crooks and I hope others here will join me. Contact me at ****@**** and I'll add you the the complaints. I will be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and California Department of Consumer Affairs. My attorney has asked me to find more victims for a possible class action suit. Please contact me so we can get these crooks. My original post is below

I ordered a memory module that tested defective on three different motherboards. I returned it and recieved a confirmation RMA that said:

"It takes 2--3 business days for us to test the product. It takes 3--7 business days for us to process and re-ship or issue refund after we tested the product. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our RMA Department."

I waited two weeks and I emailed their RMA department. I did not get a reply. I waited another two weeks and I emailed all three of their email addresses: (****@****,****@**** and ****@****)I did not get a single reply. It's now been two months and I've sent another message to all three emails addresses. At this point I beleive they are probably crooks and should be avoided. However, if they answer my last email, I'll update this review.

"This company is the PITTS!!! First I was told my order was on back-order when I did not recieve it in the "2-3 business days" that was advertised. THEN I was told that the item was discontinued. I said NO, I wanted my money back, and eight weeks later, I have STILL not recieved it."

"I ordered a Geforce 4 MX 440 128DDR vid. card, retail box, cables, rush processing,Fed Ex 3-5 day shipping W/ tracking. It arrived 7 days later. The only email i got was the one confirming my order. I was to get one when it shipped out, but they did noty bother.No tracking info either. I called them on monday as i had placed the order on a thursday morning and I had not been updated. The person told me that it was in processing in the wharehouse. Thats all. I think I am lucky because I got what I ordered, got it in 1 week, and was charged the right price. I am however, not shure all is well. Since installing said card, my PC seems to be hanging up and running programs are slow during normal operation.I have a 2.0ghz machine with 640mb ram. The screen saver moves very slow and takes a long time to exit. Gameplay is very good so far. Now, even after getting the card in hand, installing it, and seems to be o.k., I am still having buyers remorse. I am almost waiting for it to go up in a nice quick light and sound show followed by a puff of smoke. I will not buy from them again."

"I originally ordered a VIA USB 2.0 PCI card for my home PC. I received the product a lot later than they had said (at least a week late). The product I received was defective. I requested an RMA number. Their web page wasn't working right so I couldn't do it through their RMA thing on the site. I got an RMA number about 2 weeks later. I sent my defective product back. I heard nothing until March 8 (ordered it Jan. 6!). They said they had received it and were processing it. I still hadn't heard anything back or received what I wanted in exchange. I finally called today (March 28). They told me they weren't going to exchange it because it was defective, which is the WHOLE REASON I RETURNED IT. I work in retail and know that people return defective merchandise all the time. It HAPPENS. He refused to exchange it, to refund my money, or anything (well, he offered to send my broken card back). He then went on to accuse me of purposely breaking it and trying to get my money back. He said that what I was doing was a "common practice." Terrible customer service! He refused to let me talk to his manager, and only said his manager would tell me the same thing. He ended up hanging up on me. I had to go through my credit card company to get my money back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! THIS IS THE *WORST* EVER!"

"I am writing because I am extremely frustrated. This order was originally a Christmas gift, so much for that. We are going on 5 months since the order was placed , I feel I have been patient enough . I returned the product because it did not work properly for my computer. Paul was kind enough to work with me to help me find the memory that was correct for my computer. I ordered two of the 88-130-123 on January 14, 2004 and returned the other memory at that time. I confirmed with Paul on February 5 that the returned product was received and the "new product would be shipped out very soon". I have been calling weekly to find out the status and continue to get the run around. On February 25 Julian said the new product was shipped out via United States Postal Service 2-day. When I did not receive the product by March 1, I then called again. I demanded a refund. Paul said the product was shipped out and he could not process a refund. A woman called me later that day and gave me a shipping confirmation # 01805213907479588089. I tracked the package today and the tracking information I was given was the "USPS was electronically notified by the shipper on February 27, 2004 to expect a package for mailing". This leads me to believe the package has still not been sent out. I do not want the new product, PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY. If a refund is not received by March 10, 2004, I will have no choice but to file complaints with the Netcheck Commerce Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. Not to mention informing hundreds of friends, family and co-workers of this experience and poor service.

"I cancelled my item on a friday, and an hour after purchase on 2/20 they sent a confirmation email. The following tuesday my bank said i was charged 72.88 by rich pacific Inc. I called dvcentury, they said it was "Probably a hold". the following monday, my bank said it is a final charge and I would have to pay. I called dvcentury, and after arguing again it was NOT a hold they said they would "look into it". It is a week after, and still the bank is charging me to them. No accidental item sent from dvcentury either. DV stole my money, and I reported them to the FBI and the BBB."

"Contrary to other reviews, I had a positive experience. I placed the order on-line, for a very good price on PC2100 512MB DIMM. I recieved a confirmation via email, and two days later received an email that it was shipped. It arrived later that week in good working order. After I ordered it, I then read some of these reviews. I had a bad case of buyers remorse. I thought... WHAT HAVE I DONE!!! But luckily, a smooth transaction. --- Maybe they straightened up their act ---"

"Absolutely horrible service. Heatsink was non-functional. As far as I know heatsink and ram sizes are universal, but the heatsink wouldn't fit on the RAM I also ordered from the company. I was told to send pictures of the products to ensure that they indeed did not match up. I sent numerous e-mails, which they responded to as saying that they would not refund my non-functioning purchases. Also, I was also told that my complaints were "funny" to the customer service representatives. Definitely would not recommend."

"Order placed Jan. 30th...still haven't received product.

Like you, I orderd a brand name memory product...I did hear back stating that they were out-of-stock, but would replace my order with another/better brand that costed more, but would charge me the same price. My credit card has been charged, yet no delivery for a month now.

I'm glad I work for a government entity...it will be very easy to track the people behind this operation and resolve this issue.

"I asked for expedited delivery. The package finally left the store two weeks later. The shipped a generic brand of RAM when I ordered name-brand and it was Dead on Arrival. AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL POSSIBLE COSTS!!!!"

"I ordered what was advertised as a "Name Brand" memory module (256mb pc133) I received an order confirmation and was told that the order would ship in 24 to 48 hours. It did not. On Feb 15th, 10 days later, I contacted them via email and was told that the module was out of stock and could be replaced with a "Generic" model. I then sent an email asking the price difference and was told I could take the exchange or a refund. This was shocking because they were not supposed to have charged my credit card until it shipped. I then contacted the company by phone. They could not have been more unconcerned. They said it was just an authorization not a charge on my credit card. I contacted the bank ... it is a CHARGE. They are now refusing to refund my money. I have no product. I call and get put on indefinite hold. Isaac and Paul are the biggest offenders. I am forwarding the details of this transaction to the district attorney in their area. Do not purchase anything from this company. Not now not ever! I now get hung up on if I call and give them my order number. These are not reputable sellers. Avoid them at all cost."
