"Very disappointed. I ordered the Sony ICD-MS515VTP on Friday 9/13/2002. Their website showed they had 18 in stock. I received a confirmation on Monday saying my credit card has been charged and the order has been submitted to the Warehouse. I called them checking to make sure it'll be shipping that same day, and the Cruxworks Rep I got told me it was going to ship that day and that 1 was allocated to me. I call back on Tuesday asking for a tracking number, and another Rep tells me the order didn't ship out but he'll get it out for me. Frustrated. But, I'm ok with that, they were probably busy. Today (Wednesday 9/18/02), I call asking for a tracking number and the Rep puts me on hold, picks up a few minutes later and tells me the Distributor didn't ship it yet, Would I like to get the package shipped over night to me.

After reading a similiar rating, I cancelled the order.

Sigh, they appear to be 2 different company's. Cruxworks has no control over their stock and shipping.

"Placed order for Sony DRU 120A on 9/8, shipped 2 day on 9/11, received on 9/13. Arrived new in box as described. Called to check order status because fedex # could not be search on web site, reached person immediatley and they said call on 9/13 if not received. Spoke to fedex person on 9/12 and they could track it but their web site could not. Very pleased with service and product. Would buy from again."

"This company is pathetic!! They have no control over their distributors. I placed order on 9-3-02, they charged my credit card. Called on 9-9-02 to inquire where tracking number was, they told me the order had been canceled/dropped and didn't know why. Said the packages would be sent overnight. Called three days later with no tracking number. Called customer service, Amy was very nasty and made me upset. Couldn't understand why I was upset about why the order had not gone out. Finally canceled order. Will Hopefully get money back."

"I ordered a Nikon coolpix 4500 witch is $596.00 if you go to crux works through pricewatch, a good price. From resellerratings they looked to be a good retailer

I called early Wednesday, I asked if they could get it to me that Friday (I wanted it for a trip leaving Sunday) she said not a problem as long as I paid for overnight shipping ($25), OK, the rep said it would leave that after noon (Wednesday) and would be at my door Thursday

The rep was very nice and their e-mail invoice was very quick so far very good

Wait all day Wednesday for a tracking # none arrives and the web site stated "submitted to warehouse"

Thursday morning I called back and got a story about backups at the Tennessee warehouse, I asked them to send it from another warehouse (according to their website New York and California had several hundred) she said she could not do that but she "would call and get them to send it today" later Thursday afternoon still no tracking # I called back and again I was assured that it would leave that day.

12:00 Friday when I need the camera, it still has not left yet I call again complain loudly to the first person get another this one tells me the Tennessee warehouse is not owned by crux works and he has no control over when it leaves, so they are acting like a broker and having the items drop shipped by someone else, fine great prices but u still have to deliver, they gave me no trouble canceling my order, everything crux works did was excellent, if they had their own stock I think it would have gotten here on time but they are at the mercy of middlemen

Not a good choice if u want it on time, I could have paid a little more somewhere else and got a camera for my vacation

Now I got to pay a several hundred more locally because it is to late to order on-line or go with out a camera and reorder when I get back

"I purchased 6 ink cartridges from this company on June 28, 2002.Two of those were for an Epson 2000P. I did not need to change my cartridge until August 8, 2002. Both of the cartridges are defective. I have been told by Cruzworks that is just too bad, 30 days have passed. The manager told me that they can't return the cartridges to the manufacturer, yet inside the package is a 100% Guarantee from the manufacturer. I will never do business with this company again and I strongly suggest that for these kind of things you look elsewhere."

"Very positive opinion. I placed my order on friday afternoon. Received a confirmation email on Friday. The following monday, I received another one saying that my order had been processed and that I would receive a tracking number in a while. On tuesday, I received the tracking number and my package (which was very nicely packed with a lot of foam). I will definitely buy again from this company."

"I wish I had such a good experience as everyone else claims.. I made an order on May 6. After hearing nothing by May 20 (other than invoice received) I emailed them to check on it. They got back to me on May 24 saying that they had had trouble with one item but the order was shipping that day. On May 30 I received the order, but with 2 of the 4 items missing, and was charged for all of them (they claim to only charge when all items are shipped). I immediately emailed them back asking when I was going to get the rest of my items, even offering to cancel the difficult item if it would expedite things. No response to emails until June 17, when, 6 weeks after I ordered, they told me that the most important item on my order was no longer available and finally shipped the last remaining item. I'll never order from them again, their customer service is atrocious."

"Ordered a black split keyboard from them, only since I couldn't find it anywhere else, but I was very pleased with their service.

I ordered on Sunday evening, and it arrived at my door Tuesday morning. VERY prompt shipping. Order arrived, if anything, OVERLY packed. A giant box filled with styrofoam peanuts just for a keyboard.

CruxWorks is now on my short list of high quality online resellers. In fact, I've just ordered a digital camera and accessories from them for my business. I'll report back on that when it arrives.

I would recommend cruxworks, and I have already ordered from them again!

Update: The camera purchase didn't go quite so well. Ordered on a friday morning, fedex priority, so I figured it'd arrive monday or maybe tuesday. By tuesday it hadn't shipped. I called to see what was the problem. Apparently the extra memory card I ordered had to ship direct from the manufacturer, and it was holding the whole order up. The service rep said she'd ship the rest that night, overnight, and refund shipping. The next morning it still hadn't shipped. I called again, and got the same rep. She blamed it on an error at the warehouse, and promised to do everything she could to get it to ship that day (thursday). It finally shipped at around 2pm that day, and the rep gave me a call back to confirm that. They arrived the next morning, one week (5 business days) after ordering.

Overall, a bit more of a hassle than my previous experience. However, the customer service rep seemed to genuinely care about my problem. So while I'm rating their shipping lower, their customer service gets a good rating.

"I recently ordered a Samsung 151S flat-panel LCD from CruxWorks and was very impressed with them. I chose them because I was having difficulty finding the 151S at an affordable price in stock anywhere else. CruxWorks had a coupon posted on Pricewatch, so I checked them out. Their website has a real-time inventory display that's even broken down by warehouse location, so I felt assured they really had it in stock. They honored the coupon, the shipping charges were very fair, and their service was very prompt. I ordered the monitor late Thursday and received it Monday morning. The monitor was in its retail shipping box, securely packed, and had no dead pixels (which I had been worried about). Two thumbs up!"
