Horrible company! Beware!

"I will never deal with them again. I ordered a vintage painted waste basket and it looked cute in the photo but was a rusty piece of junk when it arrived. Waaay overpriced for this junk that should be in a landfill. The box smelled absolutely horrible when I opened it and the waste basket smelled horrible and was covered in dirt! I know it’s technically a used item but they could have at least cleaned it for the exorbitant price! How do you even get metal to retain such a smell?
Then to return it they are claiming they spent $38 to slowly ground ship it to me, and won’t refund that. I have to pay return shipping as well. Perfect for them to just pocket the money and resell the item to another unsuspecting buyer.

Bad Service for Buyers and Sellers

"As a seller, forced to use their company U-Ship, had one $3000 table broken while loading, they said it was perfect and then took off leaving skid marks. So it arrived broken . 10 months to get. A refund. Another U ship guy, used tattered old cardboard boxes l said do go to Uhaul and buy new ones for $10 bucks, turned around. He stole my painting no paperwork or receipt. After hysterical calls to Chairish painting returned at 3am with canvas slit No support from. chairish either time USHIP takes no responsibility

Agents reply with auto responders that have nothing to do with issue.

All Indian workers tell you they are in Toronto. Not a call center. Bizarre

Buyers are overcharged on shipping, but the same item may ship for 1/2 the amount Shipping fees seem
random. Zip code calculator doesn't change price. Plus there is a logistics fee? For what? Buyers think sellers are making up shipping costs. We have no idea.

Impossible to get through on phone. I've just been emailing and dealing with the non related auto responses

Curator team is useless l have pointed out the same fake item repeatedly listed. They get keep getting posted and often on the A list yet they were $39 from Pier One a few years ago listed as $2000 set of stools

I like happy customers. There is no learning or attempts to improve policy when it pointed out

"High value item shipped without a box or even a wrapping. A guy in a dark van literally went in the back and pulled it out of truck floor. Handed it to me like you would hand a towel to someone.

Horrendous Customer Service – Order Never Received!

"I placed an order from Chairish (Seller: Annabel Bleu), and 23 days later –– I still had not received my order within the seller's advertised lead time of 2 weeks (made to order; not including shipping transit time).

Ultimately, it took 24 days, 6 emails, and numerous escalations within Chairish management to get an a) order status and b) shipment tracking number. NEVER AGAIN will I spend money with Chairish or Annabel Bleu and advise others to stay far far away.

On January 30, I placed an order.

On February 9 I reached out to inquire when the order would ship. Chairish responded: "I will connect with the Seller to confirm the status of shipping for this order and for them to provide the tracking details. Once confirmed, I will provide you with the details!"

On February 12, I sent a 2nd email to request order status and shipment ETA. Still no response.

On February 14, I sent a 3rd email to request order status and shipment ETA. I finally received a response with a lie suggesting "14 days as this is made to order. Please note that the listed lead times are in reference to the number of business days required." The listing clearly stated "2 weeks" made to order.

On February 18, I received an email from Chairish stating "I have not yet heard back from the seller..."

On February 19, I sent my 4th email in response stating "We are past the 14 day lead time and the revised 14 business day lead time." I indicated that if a tracking # is not provided by February 21, I require a full refund.

*After researching the seller on the Better Business Bureau, it's clear this is not an isolated incident. The seller accepts payment and never ships the product. Chairish continues to list their products.*

On February 21, I escalated this issue (now my 5th email) to senior managment at Chairish. Still no response.

On February 23, my 6th email, I escalated the issue to more contacts within Chairish leadership –– hoping for a resolution. Only when I did this, did I receive a full refund within a few hours and – NO response apologizing for their incompetence and subpar customer service.

It took 24 days, 6 emails, and numerous escalations within Chairish management to get an a) order status and b) shipment tracking number.

Final outcome – a refund 24 days later and no follow-up communication.

Something is fundamentally wrong with this company. Horrendous customer service, poor and non-existent communication with customers and a failure to provide simple transactional updates. Operationally, Chairish is a hideous disaster.

I will NEVER order from Chairish or Annabel Bleu again and warn everyone I know to stay far away from this company and it's seller.

Trash company

"Bought an item and it took over 3 months to arrive. They had no idea where it was or what was going on. When it arrived, its in horrible condition. It was listed as in good condition, but almost every screw is missing and its very scratched up and dinged. I will never use this company again and highly suggest you dont either."

Wish I could give a minus rating!

"Bought a light fixture - it was delivered to a business address on a Monday. I was out of town & the business was closed by the time I returned. I picked it up on a Tuesday. I kept it until Thursday morning for a meeting with my designer at which time we agreed it was too small. I called that afternoon - within 48 hrs of my having the package in my possession - & called to initiate a return. I was told the order was closed as the 48 hrs began on Monday. I explained the circumstances & they said another dept would contact me.
I waited all day Friday - nothing. On Monday I called, left messages, & emailed. No one contacted me but I kept calling. I finally reached someone who said they had emailed me on Friday - it was not to be found anywhere on my computer. They said they would look into it & get back to me.

It's now Friday - nothing from the company. I emailed again on Wednesday asking someone to contact me - nothing. So once they have your money, you're on your own. I'm disputing this with my credit card company in hopes they can get someone to answer their calls.

This is the most negative retail experience I've ever had - it's not just poor customer service, it's dishonest business practices. Don't go near this place.

Run away!!!! Do not walk away from Chairish.com!!!!

"Purchase ceramic lamp on 29/09/21 from Chairish.com. Stated Perfect condition no cracks or chips! Received 05/10/21. Immediately notified them there were two large pieces that were repaired leaving cracks & chips. Sent multiple photos and copies of their posted description. They kept stalling until 13/10. Finally stated I would have to send large ceramic lamp back at my cost & use of my personal time."

Vendor Deception - Chairish NO Integrity

" I don't believe "your" vendor was Honest!
The lamp is nice looking. BUT upon looking at it, it was NEVER cleaned up!
The underside of the wood base is full of dirt and cob webs.

And most of ALL I don't believe Monica. When I inquired about when the lamp was last re-wired, she said in her comment back to me " in 2019".

So I am completely disappointed with this purchase.

It is like she was in a hurry to get rid of it, because there is something wrong with it.

Absolutely NO care was taken to clean this lamp before shipping to me!

It will have to be professionally re-wired before it can be used. And I have no idea how much this will cost me.

And the underside base wiring looks to be RUSTED and the WIRING OLD!

See the attached pictures.

What can you do to compensate me?

OR should I send this BACK and incur the return shipping cost?

Was this lamp in a filthy basement?

Please pick your vendors more carefully.
I will NEVER trust this vendor to make a purchase ever again!

I will not Continue with this deceptive, unprofessional Customer Service!

In the past I've bought items from 1stDibs and never had a problem with their Vendors or the items I purchased.

As the "face" Chairish is the responsible business partner with all of the Vendors you represent. It is not only Your reputation but also that of all your Vendors.

The merchandise is FAULTY and not as described, the Comments from Your Vendor at "Store House Vintage" (Monica) was a LIE!

It is therefore Your obligation and best business practices to instruct Your Vendor "Store House Vintage" (Monica) to immediately have UPS come remove/return this faulty item to "Store House Vintage" at THEIR EXPENSE using their Return Label.

I as the customer am under no obligation to incur Any Costs, nor use of My Time, being this merchandise was not as described and I was LIED to by Monica at "Store House Vintage" as to the condition of the Lamp!

This faulty merchandise needs to be picked up and returned immediately!

Horrible customer service

"The product picture on the website versus what I received were completely different! The picture was clearly a manufacturers picture with fabric colors gray and brown, but what I received was the same pattern but looked sunbleached! Bright yellow instead of gray. Customer service was a nightmare! Although it’s posted on their website they must contact them within 48 hours of receiving your product which I did they continually did not call me back and or email me with instructions for a return label. Instead tried to get me to have a credit. "

Doubtful behavior, liars

"Two months after placing my order for a dresser and paying $299.00 for shipping, I did not know the shipping date, then Chairish assigned a shipping company called 3 Guys who told me that they couldn't ship anything if they have not being contacted by Chairish to begin with.

Luckily, I called American Express, explained to them the situation and they got my money back.

I don't know how they manage to stay in business. I cringe every time I see their name.

Good experience buying and selling

"I am an individual (not a store) and have sold 60 items on Chairish and purchased 4 items. Yes, the large pieces of furniture I have sold take a while to get to their destination. That is because Chairish uses the Uber version of shippers and there is no scale as with a big furniture company. I have never had a buyer recontact me with an issue--which they can do my messaging you via your "shop.". Chairish makes money in lots of ways, including selling promoted listings which is a way to get your items at the top of searches. They definitley favor sellers who buy into that expense. They also make money by holding on to your payment another 48 hours AFTER the 48 hour acceptance window and charging a service fee to buyers. They do not accept items that are obviously low value. Don't believe it? Take a look at a site like Poshmark where anything goes and some items look like they should have gone to Goodwill. Because Chairish never takes possession or inspects items, it all depends on the honesty of the seller. I advise asking for additional photos before investing in a big purchase. But also on sites like The Real Real or 1st Dibs the shipping is higher and the commission they take is very high. If you sell on Chairish I suggest you ignore the "favorites" which browsers use as if it is a Facebook like --- it typically means no intention to purchase. Also ignore the Chairish suggestions to lower your price if it seems fair versus similar items in their Pink Book. The majority of my items have sold with fewer than 10 favorites -- which says to me when a truly interested buyer comes along, they make an offer. And no amount of price reduction entices window shoppers . Overall Chairish has worked well for me to resell some very high-end and excellent condition pieces as I am in the process of redecorating my home. And unlike other customers and sellers, I have been able to get responses from customer service. Including a full refund (with shipping) on a decorative box I purchased that arrived damaged and payment on some shelves I sold that arrived broken due to obvious UPS mishandling (the box looked like an elephant sat on it). "

Never again...

"I bought an antique on their site. I received emails stating that the item would be shipped within a couple weeks. We waited longer than that and then emailed them several times. They then told us that the because the seller "lived in a remote area" they didn't know when they could "get a shipper to go there". (The seller lives in Idaho, not far from Pocatello, and on major local highways.) I pressed for some kind of time frame and they evaded answering. Finally we had to request a full refund as we knew they had no intention of shipping the item. They charged us immediately upon buying and never shipped. They did not return phone calls unless threatened. We are very disappointed that we now will not get the antique item we bought and paid for (including shipping) in good faith. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOU DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SITE!"

Two Months Later $1,500 for Shipping and No Delivery Scheduled

"I bought a dining room table, chairs, and leaves from Chairish for $3,250. I also paid $1,500 for "White Glove Service Shipping and Logistics". It took Chairish more than a month to schedule pickup of the furniture. The furniture's been sitting in the shipping company's warehouse for another month with no delivery date scheduled. When I called Metropolitan (the shipping company) they told me they're not authorized to speak with me and I have to speak with Chairish. Chairish won't return my e-mails. When I call their helpline, I'm told they'll investigate the situation and call me back the next day. They never call me back."
