"The service that I received from Chris at Canoga Camera was outstanding! I was in search of a Nikon D7000 to purchase. Unfortunetly the dealer that I had dealt with for all my other camera supplies did not have it in stock when I was ready to place my order. I also tried a few other places and had no luck. While I was going out of my mind trying to find someone who had a D7000 in stock I came across a link to Canoga Camera. They said that they had the camera and 2 lenses in stock. At first I was a little hesitant to order from them as I new nothing about them. I searched around the web and read several reviews (all good) about Canoga Camera. I placed my order and a few minutes later received an e-mail to confirm my order. I was now happy. The next day Chris called me and was very professional as he went over my order and reconfirmed my shipping address and order. They meet all my expectations of a great customer service outlet. I am a customer for life..... "

"I've been dealing with Canoga for years and I've yet to be disappointed in any way. Their prices are always among the lowest and they pack well and ship quickly. Up until my last order I've never had to deal with their customer service...and I'm happy to report that now that I have, it was a positive experience. I received a lens that appeared to have an issue with a decentered optical element. I contacted the manager Chris about an exchange and he was very accommodating. They shipped out a replacement lens within a couple of days of receiving the returned lens. The new lens performs great and I remain a happy customer who will continue to do business with Canoga in the future."

"I had been looking for a new Canon lens and found several retailers that sold it. Being a loyal customer who had ordered from Canoga in the past, I called to give them a chance to match price, since their price was higher. I called and spoke to Michelle a few days ago. I mentioned several other retailers were selling a lens for less money and offered free shipping. Michelle placed me on hold, got approval to price match, and said when I was ready to order mention our conversation and they would match the price.

I called on Thursday and spoke with Michelle. We reviewed the details of the transaction and prices. She stated for order accuracy, I should place the order online and provide notes in the notes section of the order page; prices would be adjusted when the order came in.

I placed my order and got a phone call a few minutes later stating that they would not honor the price given a few days back; there was a Canon price increase in the works. Other retailers also had an increase in price but were only charging $7 more than before, Canoga wanted $45 additional.

I spoke with the manager, Chris, who said that the prices went up and the lens will be more highly desired. I explained that Canoga did not pay more for the lens that they had in stock (Michelle confirmed that they had the same lens in stock from earlier in the week) and that they should not be charging me more as they did not have to pay more, especially since they quoted me a price just a few days earlier. I asked Chris if he would do anything at all given that I already placed my order and they had gotten credit authorization on my card. Chris was not even willing to meet part way and told me that I should buy from someone else.

I canceled my order via email on Thursday and Chris said he would do it in about an hour (as of Saturday evening, I still have not received an email back about the cancellation though). I did order from a different reputable dealer as Chris told me to do.

They welcomed my request to match price, agreed to it, took payment, and then decided not to match? Of course I like to save money but the way I was treated was why I will not use this retailer again. “We will match price.” “Place your order.” “We have your credit card info but no longer value you, buy from someone else.” This is the reason for the poor review.

"The Nikon D7000 is currently unavailable in Houston, Texas. All of the major online retailers are currently out of stock. While checking Amazon I saw the advertisement for Canoga Camera. A real person named Michelle answered the phone and let me know the camera is in stock and ready to ship. Canoga Camera has a website for secure transactions which my wife used to place the order for my Christmas gift. My wife received a call the next day verifying her purchase and the camera shipped. Canoga sent an email with the tracking number and expected time of arrival. The box arrived today as scheduled, the contents were carefully packaged, and the camera was fresh and new as expected. The transaction was perfect from start to finish and this review is a THANK YOU from a happy customer."

"Shouldn't customer service, product knowledge, and fast order processing/shipping be the basis of what every business provides to it's customers? Obviously not. That's what makes Canoga Camera so unique.

After much research, I decided to upgrade to a Nikon D90, w/18-105mm VR lens. I think I visited every camera store's website on the internet.....something I won't have to do ever again. Canoga Camera does it right. They answered the phone quickly and politely answered all of my questions. When I placed my order on-line, it was simple. I received a follow-up phone call to confirm my order and shipping address.

Besides the courteous and knowledgeable staff, fast, free and secure shipping, Canoga Camera had the lowest price of any on-line reseller at the time of my purchase. What more could you ask for as a customer?

"Excellent online dealer, will highly recommend. Purchased Canon 7 D with 18-135 mm lens, best rate $1770 (-150) when compared to other dealers (newegg, B&H). Talked to Chris for 15-20 minutes before buying camera, he explained in great detail and only thing he asked to consider was buying 18-135 instead of 28-135 mm lens. He was right given the crop factor 18-135 mm was a better choice. Very smooth transaction, called me back as my credit card wanted to verify thats it. Very fast shipping. Best price on Canon 7 D, $1699 (+22 ship) for 28-135 mm lens and 1771 for 18-135 lens. Authorized dealer, send all the proper warranty documents, nice packaging. Very highly recommend them especially for Canon 7 D, they are authorized dealer."

"I ordered a tripod from Canoga Camera late in the evening. Next day I receive a call to "verify my information" I was weary at first that this may be a bait & switch tactic, but it was not. Everything turned out great. The person on the phone was very friendly and she confirmed my address, confirmed that the item I bought would be compatible with my gear and told me when I'd be getting my item.

My small gripe is when I missed the package and called UPS to schedule a "hold for pickup", they said I can't do it. I called Canoga Camera and spoke to Chris, the manager, he explained to me the reasoning as to why and was very courteous and apologetic on the phone. I later went back to their site, and in fact it DOES say all of this (they also do not email out tracking numbers, but again it's written on their site). So this isn't a complaint, more of an FYI to future shoppers.

I would definitely do business with Canoga Camera again. Great prices, as advertised product, quick shipping, great customer service. A+

"This is my second purchase from Canoga Camera. I had not heard of this merchant until I read a recommendation in a photography book by Scott Kelby (or some other source). I was looking for the new Sigma 10-20mm lens for Nikon, and of course, Canoga had the best price (no tax and free shipping). All other reputable vendors were much more, including Amazon. I took the plunge on faith after reading that recommendation and reading the merchant policies on their website, and placed my $600+ order. I was able to immediately print my order confirmation and received my e-mail confirmation instantly. Later in the day, I received a call from a Caoga rep, and my initial thoughts were, 'here we go again with bait & switch and high pressure sales of over priced merchandise. But, was surprised to learn that she was calling to verify the order (asked which brand of camera I own, to ensure the mount is correct) and verify shipping address etc. I was still waiting for the sales pitch and the only thing the lady said was "is there anything else I can help with?. What a surprise.
Two days later my lens arrived as promised and was placed in a Styrofoam filled cardboard box three times the size of the lens box.
That was on 4/20/2010. This time, I was in the market for a Nikon D300s to replace my vintage D70. I had seen the prices go up on this model and found the lowest price at walmart.com for $1453. Canoga's price was higher, but still way lower than other's. I tried to place the order with walmart.com and wanted to use their 12 month no interest purchase option by applying for a Walmart Discover credit card. However, they only approved a credit line of $1250 which was not enough to purchase the item in the cart (go figure). I asked for a credit line increase and they said you will have to wait for the card to arrive by mail 10 days later. Long story short, walmart refused to increase the credit line and by this time they had jacked up their price to $1699 claiming a $99 discount over the $1799 list price. Nikon site shows a ESP of $1699. Shame on you walmart. Oh by the way, walmart does not price match, so they lost my order to Canoga on 4/29/2010, who had the best price on the net at $1519 delivered (although back ordered due to short supply). Thank you Canoga for pricing fairly even as everyone else is dropping their discounts and selling at or above ESP. Canoga, YOU ROCK.

"I recently bought a D300s along with a bag from Canoga. The whole buying experience has as always been seamless (I have been a loyal customer and fan since 2005). This time however was the first time when I had to return a product – the bag didn’t meet my expectations. The return process and communication with Canoga staff was amazing. No questions, no problems just simple instructions from dedicated staff. They confirmed receipt of the package and immediately transferred money back to the card.
These guys are doing a great job – much better than BHPhoto.

"After searching a good deal for long I landed up on canogacamera.com . At first I was skeptical about the site cuz till then I had never heard of this company. Finally I ordered Nikon D 5000 and Tamron 18-270 mm. My order arrived before than I expected and it happened cuz these people shipped it so fast. I had a request for them which I am sure most sellers would generally refuse but Kathryn and Chris went out of their way to help me. In their own words they say " We strive to provide a high level of customer service", they really mean it and I have experienced it.
