2014 Legacy Motor Coach

"WIFE AND I BOUGHT A DIESEL MOTOR COACH FROM SUMMERVILLE FL. DEALER, WE TEST DROVE THE UNIT AND IT HAD A VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END. CAMPING WORLD SAID THEY WOULD FIX IT, 45 DAYS LATER PICKED UP OUR MOTOR COACH AND DROVE IT HOME WITH SAME ISSUES. WE BROUGHT IT TO FREITLINER IN TAMPA, 1 WEEK LATER IT WAS FIXED LEAVING US A BILL OF 2,600 GOOD SAM PAID 740.00 AS I'M FIGHTING WITH CORPORATE TO MAKE GOOD ON THEIR PROMISE TO FIX. GLAD WE DID NOT TAKE A LONG TRIP THAT COULD HAVE LED TO A ACCIDENT OR MAJOR BREAK DOWN. IM SHOCKED CAMINGWORLD SAYS THEY DO A COMPLETE INSPECTION OF UNIT, IF THEY DID THEY WOULD HAVE DISCOVERED THESE DANGEROUS ISSUES. WE CAN SAFELY TAKE A LONG TRIP KNOWING WERE SAFE AND OTHER'S AROUND US ON THE ROAD. IF YOU BUY A MOTOR HOME FROM THEM GET A SAFETY CHECK FROM SOMEONE WHO'S CERTIFIED IN SUSPENSION. WAS A HUGE PURCHASE FROM THEM AND NOTHING BUT AGGRAVATION 8 MONTH'S LATER. "

Horrible place to buy from!

"We bought & paid for a sofa / bed for our motor-coach. It was in the Camping World warehouse and we were told it would be delivered to the store for pickup the following week. We would be called when it arrived. We called the end of the proposed delivery week and they said they would look into it and get back to us. Another week went by and no call. I went into the store with my paid invoice and was casually told it was sold to another person and they don't have anymore!! What! The store had no recommendations to fix the issue and said there was nothing they could do but give my money back.
I sent Marcus Lemons an email (****@****) since his logo states "If you're not happy, I'm not happy" and I never received any acknowledgment of my issue. Just the standard "we've received your email…"Terrible place to buy from. Zero customer service if you have any issues, they don't even respond to emails.
This isn't my first issue with this company but it is my last. Overton and Camping world are permanently off limits for my shopping needs.
I wish I had seen all the bad reviews for the company before I purchased from them!

Wonderful Service Department

"I recently purchased a Jayco 2020 White Hawk trailer and after a short breaking in trip I took the new unit to Camping World for minor warranty work.
Wow! What great employees in the Service Department. Kenny, Kaila, & Doug were friendly, knowledgable, professional, and very supportive. I would highly recommend Camping World Service in the Service Department.

Thank You again for the Great Service.

Horrible customer service

"Was looking at used Motor home online on Their website. I made contact via the phone and was advised someone would contact me. A short time later Geo contacted me. We talked all day about the motorhome and he answered all questions I had. We made an agreement that my wife and I would come see it on Saturday. Geo kept asking me to make an offer and I told him I would need to drive and inspect it first. Geo said I could put a fully refundable $500 deposit down to hold the unit, I advised him that if it sold it sold and that at this point, I wasn’t putting a deposit. The next day Geo text me that they had dropped the price. After talking with him all day and getting more information, he again asked me to make an offer. Due to a couple issues with the unit, Geo had told me they couldn’t get it financed through their lenders. Due to this I called USAA and they approved me for whatever amount I needed to purchase a motorhome. I told Geo that I had financing ready and I made an offer I made an offer of $8,000. Geo said that offer sounded good and that in order to take the offer to the manager he would need to have a $500 deposit. I told Geo that was fine and gave him my credit card info. A few minutes later Geo told me that the manager was not accepting any deposits because they had so many people call wanting them to hold that particular unit. Geo said that I needed to get down there as fast as possible if I wanted to look at the unit and make an offer, due to the interest in it (2 hour drive). I asked how many of those callers had placed a deposit and was told none. I asked if the manager was willing to accept my offer, contingent upon the unit being in the condition they said it was. Geo stated that the manager wasn’t going to consider my offer until I saw the unit in person. I then withdrew my cash offer and denied them authority to charge my card. Playing games from the manager tower costs you customers. I'm sure one of those many wanting you to hold that unit will appear......... Since they have turned off reviews on Facebook page, I'll just leave this right here. UPDATE, at the urging of the Facebook messaging from Camping World Oakwood, I gave them my telephone number……… Yep you guessed it NO ONE EVER REACHED OUT TO ME. This place is ridiculous and I’m glad I didn’t waste my time and money driving the two hours to deal with idiots. BTW the motorhome still sits on their lot, unsold, I’m guessing all those potential customers will arrive at any moment!!!

Camping World Lied To Me

"This is literally THE WORST company anyone could ever purchase from!

Firstly, I use an ip relay service for people with disabilities and their agents kept hanging up on me because they didn't want to have to bother with a translator. This resulted in my having to call again three times, each time with a very very long nearly an hour wait.

Next They LIE about orders going to ship....and then they cancel them. They caused me a lot of trouble and embrassment and wasted about 5 hours of my time between their on line "help" and the people at their call center. .

Don't waste your time and money..shop anywhere but here. They will not allow you to send gifts...they will wait several days and cancel them so if you're Christmas or Birthday Shopping...pass this place by FAST!

Buyer Beware

"They are your best friend when you are buying a camper BUT... after you buy it they want nothing to do with you. Their service is the worst service I've experienced in my life. The Service department doesn't respond to your emails or phone calls. When you finally do catch them they tell you what you want to here but NEVER do what they say they will do. I would never recommend Camping World of Pittsburgh to anybudy."

Do not go to CAMPING WORLD ever

"We bought a motor home from Robertsdale , Al. I have previously written about the HORRIBLE service I got from them during the transaction. I am updating my anger at them. When we bought the motor home we were told that it is a 2017. All the paperwork they gave us said it was a 2017. Now 6 months later we want to sell so we can get a larger RV only to learn that it is not a 2017 but that it is in fact a 2016. This means not only that we overpaid for the RV ( and they knew it ) but also that now my selling price has to dropped so I have been screwed by Camping World once again.
I called them today to discuss this. I asked for the GM and man named Rick came on. When I explained my concern he looked up my file and told me that the chassis is a 2016 but the the coach itself is a 2017 and that it "happens all the time. THIS (expletive ) knows that they are misrepresenting the truth of their vehicles and yet still LYING to the customers. How many others have been mislead/ lied to ?
My guess is that I am losing about 6-8 thousand dollars as a result of the totally unethical lies these expletives told us. NOT TO MENTION HE ACTED LIKE IT IS NO BIG DEAL. AS he said " It happens all the time"
STAY AWAY.
I just got back from an extended USA trip in my motor home. Every single person that I spoke to had nothing but negative to say about CAMPING WORLD.
We will be buying another, but not from them.

Dover Camping World was great to work when problems arose with new Trailer.

"We had purchased a coach from Camping World in 2015. We were pleased with it and the service we received from Camping World so when we decided to purchase a new travel trailer we headed back to Camping World. Thomas Ellis was our salesman and he was outstanding. Helped us get a fair trade-in for our 2015 and also a good price on the new 2019 travel trailer - this new travel trailer was purchased on 4/30/2019. From our very first camping trip we had problems with the new trailer - air conditioning went out first night. Camping World fixed it - said wires were loose. Ok - we could live with that since it was fixed. However over the next 3 months we had continual problems - unit leaked when it rained (twice tried to get it fixed); shutoff handle for 3rd gray water tank was never installed; when filling fresh water tank inside of unit flooded; etc. We cut short our summer trip and took it back to Camping World. They were very sympathetic to our problems and worked with us to get us into a new - different brand - travel trailer. I can't praise Thomas Ellis and Shane Seys enough for their help. Just a note- this last unit was our 6th travel trailer - so we are use to some problems just never so many or so severe in such a short period of time. "

RUN..........

"Amended 7/22/2019 to three stars, because they are working on making it right.

The (new) Service Director of Camping World, Richmond, IN, contacted me as a result of this review. He offered to try and make our experience with Camping World right. He stated that what we experienced would not be acceptable in his service department. While he can’t roll back time and relieve the frustration/aggravation we experienced, he did make some offers that will go a long way towards making us “happy campers.” We will be receiving a refund for a portion of the prep fees that we paid and in addition he also offered to do a walk through with us and correct all the warranty issues we are having with the camper. While the warranty issues are not the fault of Camping World, it will be nice to have them all corrected at the same time – during our off season. It is our hope that we will walk away from the warranty repairs with a new attitude towards Camping World’s service department. Look for additional updates as that happens.
As the Service Director, it is not his place to address the title work issues, but it is our hope that someone will. There is no reason to argue that you know more than the BMV when it comes to title work.

If you are thinking about buying a camper at Camping World – RUN as fast as you can – and don’t ever look back. They will gladly take your money and then they will give you the run around.
We bought a brand new 2019 RV in Richmond, IN on June 12th. We paid over $600 in prep fees and are wondering what that was for because no prep was ever done to this vehicle. The RV was never de-winterized and had 2 dead batteries – 4 cells in each battery had NO WATER. While on vacation, on July 5th, the batteries had to be replaced. The Camping World we stopped at told us they would be replaced for free because of DEALER NEGLECT. Is this acceptable for you? Apparently for Camping World, it is.
35 days after I purchased the RV, I received a paper from Camping World, stating, this is what you will take to the BMV to get your plates. WRONG. Three trips to the BMV and I still don’t have my plates because the bill of sale wasn’t properly filled out. They were too lazy or incompetent to type the VIN # of the camper I traded in on the bill of sale. Another call to the dealership, and I am still getting the runaround - they have NEVER had to type the VIN # on the bill of sale in Indiana before. The BMV begs to differ with you. Instead of arguing with me that you are correct and the BMV is wrong – why don’t you just correct it? Finally, after FOUR trips to the BMV, I was able to transfer my plates.
I received an email from the CEO of Camping World, “If you’re not happy, I’m not happy.” Need anything, I’m here to help – call my office. I did and was put on hold for over 20 minutes, waiting for the next available agent. My guess is that a lot of other people are also not happy.
I am tired of hearing how busy they are and how many campers they sell…
Again, I say to you RUN, RUN as fast as you can, YOU ARE BETTER OFF ANYWHERE ELSE.

Lied and fraud on newly purchased trailer

"Bought a new Jayco travel trailer in January. Table was broken when we purchased it but they said it would be fixed before we picked it up. Picked it up and table wasn't repaired. Made a schedule to bring it back to have the table repaired. Also had the dewinterize done which cost over $70. Brought back to have table repaired and ask why the onboard water pump wasn't working. Turns out that they never did the dewinterization which would explain why I had to flush the system to get all the anti-freeze out. Pump wasn't working because they never turned the valve which would have been done had they actually dewinterized it. Argued for an hour with the service manager to get my $70 back for the work that wasn't done while he rolled his eyes and treated me as an annoyance for taking up his time. Jo, the service desk woman lied to me and said that they never flush the system of the anti-freeze but the technician said in front of her and the service manager that they always flush the system after a de-winterize. No respect to customers who just spent nearly $30,000 and to argue and lie is beyond just dishonest."

The Slowest Shipping I've Ever Experienced

"I recently ordered an item on Camping.com sister site Gander Outdoors. I ordered 5/19 wasn't presented with any shipping options other than standard ground.

I called their customer service to ask if I could pay more to have it expedited, and while the person I spoke to was friendly, I was told that oncr the order was placed shipping speed can't be changed (even if you're willing to pay). I told him it might not arrive in time and was told I could cancel. Instead of coming up withe a solution.

Yesterday 5/24 I received Fedex tracking shpwing it would be delivered 5/26 which I can live with. Now today 5/25 Fedex sends updated tracking showing delivery on 5/29. 10 days after the order was created. They need to hite some warehouse people or something. This is yje longest shipping time I've experienced simce about 2003 and the fact it can't be changed is crazy. Now it's probably going to arrive too late and I'll have to call and cancel or refuse delivery.

Most likely my last purchase from Gander/Camping.com.o very much hesitate to recommend thrm.

Camping World of Biloxi MS

"WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF ANY COMPANY EVER!!!!!! Not enough space here to even begin describe the multitude of problems with this company. They will lie, lie and lie some more, that is if you can ever get someone to return a call. At every attempt to work with them another lie was told to cover up the last from sales to service. If you need a camper or service save yourself a lot of trouble and go absolutely anywhere else."

Camping World Hanover PA

"We have been dealing with the Hanover, PA location fro many years. Our salesperson is Travis Smith who has always treated us great and we would highly recommend to anyone. Our most recent purchase from Travis was a 2019 Rockwood Mini Lite in May or 2018. Travis is always a pleasure to work with and very helpful."

Byram, MS store stay away!

"Just wanted to share a very valuable lesson learned. This is an update on my previous review posted. We have learned that the only way a warranty will be covered on your roof is that you keep receipts for purchased products needed to maintain the roof. It is not necessary to purchase their $399.00 roof maintenance service as they have been telling a lot of people. However, we did not know that we needed to be saving receipts as proof of roof maintenance. Also take pictures of your roof periodically time stamped with dates and by all means take pictures the day you do your roof maintenance. I would even probably take a video just to be on the safe side. You will need all of this information in order for your word to stick about your roof maintenance even if your roof looks immaculate.
If you purchase a Forest River product, being they own 40% of the RV industry, apparently allows them to take five times as long to get the needed parts to the locations for repair. So steer clear of Forest River products. This is the company which taught us a very valuable lesson of roof maintenance proof. They do not like to honor their product even if it is a defect as proven. Our camper was a 2016 Wildcat and we had treated the roof four different times but the glue was separating from the rubber roof product. We were told by two different service departments this was a defect and Forest River would replace the roof. Well they started fighting from the word get go but unfortunately the people selling their products would not fight back. So, understand you are purchasing a product and you were pretty much on your own if you were denied and also make sure that the words chosen to describe a defect are accurate and can be supported with pictures or video. You make sure as the consumer that you see all of this information before it is submitted no one is going to fight for you except for you. It's unfortunate that the same energy put into selling you the camper is NOT I REPEAT, NOT put in to helping you maintain the camper. Do you know why, because their handy dandy salesmen are waiting to pluck you out of the service department in your time of despair to sell you a new camper. I'm not making this up go back and read a lot of the other reviews do your research. Also, apparently all of the RV companies close two weeks for Christmas and a week for Thanksgiving so allow extra time for your RV to be in the shop during this season.
If you are an easy pushover, take someone strong with you if you are still choosing to use this company.
Camping world has nailed down a great hustle and apparently a very lucrative hustle because they continue to open stores. My only concern really are the elderly and the weak who choose to do business with them. I know there is someone's grandmother and grandpa other out there who possibly wanted to retire but cannot do you to being suckered into their scam.
I even got corporate involved. The only option Kenny Durham gave me was to return my camper with the defect roof that was not going to be replaced due to choice of words and inaccurate pictures which were sent. Which I blame part of this on myself for not checking what the service department was sending in to Forest River. Of course we checked afterwords but the damage had already been done. Forest River ran with the wear and tear comment that the young boy sent in because he could care less. To our knowledge he was fired. Not because of our ordeal but because he was always sitting around on his phone playing and half doing his job. So let me see.... do I keep a brand new camper which I feel I paid a little too much for, or do I get my old camper back with a roof that I will have to replace even though we did the maintenance and the new service guy as well as the others who looked at it 100% felt that it was a company defect. After the new service manager saw our dilemma, he sent in new pictures that clearly showed the problem unlike the previous pictures which were taken in the dark. For it to be covered by Forest River it had to show a 6 inch diameter bubble. It was only showing a 5 1/2 inch bubble.
You've been warned. If you're needing parts for your RV that you can fix then order them online or find a mom and pop shop that can help you out. If you're in Mississippi or a close state and know of an awesome place with awesome service for RVs that has ratings and people that can back it up please shoot me an email. ****@****. We just so happen to be looking for a new future service department.
I also noticed, as I was reading through the comments, they give reviews for themselves. Now you know it's bad when you have to do this.
STAY AWAY!
