Horrible service

"I brought my camper at the end of July 2022 in for a full service and have them fix anything that needed to be fixed in Oronoco, MN Camping World. I’m now just getting it back in December 2022. I called and emailed multiple times to get updates. I was told I will get a call back multiple times for a status update. Great! NEVER HAPPENED! Finally, I get in touch to make an appointment to pick up my camper for a half hour appointment in beginning of November 2022. I was charged the full amount to include one part that was never installed as it was on back order. That part I was tracking on back order. When I should have been charged only for what was completed. I was also told everything will be installed and completed for when I came to pick up the camper and ready to go. Well long story short, 3 hours later, after they find my camper and some other things that needed to be done, a short trip next door with my camper, thinking I finally have my camper back, only to realize they didn’t do anything to it. So back to Camping World! One of the clerks that was still there, that earlier stated yes all parts are installed except that one part, then states the parts are still in the back, and not installed, but the winterization was, after I returned with my camper. Therefore I shouldn’t have been charged for anything except the service and diagnosis portion for everything as winterizing was on the house for having the camper for so long. Fast forward a few weeks later after I contact corporate with a complaint and the Rochester location outsourced my back ordered part, and everything is completed and my camper is ready. Great! Well they added $1,000 to the bill and the explanation is said from the operations manager at Rochester that the previous clerks never added the parts to the work order, and that what I paid previously (I was reimbursed when I brought it back) now giving it this bigger bill. Great, and that’s my fault how? I had a full bill to pay, they did give me a $200 service discount and delivered my trailer for free, but I had to go to Rochester again prior to delivery to do a walk through. I might as well bring it back with me. Well I’m glad I didn’t bring my truck and waste more gas and maybe change my mind on delivery as I was told that it was winterized a few weeks prior right? Well guess what they were doing when I arrived for my walk thru? Yep winterizing it after I reminded the manager the morning of pick up for an afternoon inspection. So it wasn’t ready! What was the point of me showing up for a walk thru when you’re just going to read off a paper on what your mechanics did! Your one of the managers! You should know what is going on! I do know how to read! A walk thru means that you walk me through my camper and show me what you fixed. They just wanted my money and signature. I have never dealt with such a terrible and unprofessional business. Corporate is only a mediator/peacekeeper so it must be a franchise issue or something for no one wanting to make things right. So I get a small tiny $200 service discount and free delivery is what they feel is fair? For months waiting, 3 additional hours at the place when it should have only been a half hour max! Oh and the last trip for a extremely poor if you call that an inspection which wasn’t. Sure! At least they were responsive, in a timely manner with corporate and Rochester location after I contacted corporate! Funny how that works! Goodbye camping world/Good Sam! Good luck to you if you want to deal with this corrupt corporation! "

DONT DO IT THEY ARE A JOKE.

"If I could leave zero stars I would. I bought a camper and as soon as they recieved my money they ignored me. They charged me for a delivery fee and never delivered the camper so I paid a private company to retrieve it. The camper was not clean. Bugs and mice invested. Broken toilets, where blind was broken and the fender was broke. I contacted the office of the ceo and was told they parts would be shipped to the camping world closes to me and would be repaired. It's been 3 months and they still don't have the correct parts. Everyone that's contacted me has no idea what's going on and can't give me an answer. I've had to have pest control come in and paid a company to clean out the furnace as there was mice bedding in the vents. The awning was broken. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! GO THROUGH ANYONE ELSE TO BUY A CAMPER."

Products are generally okay. Product support NOT so.

"I have bought a stove/oven, a toilet, an Excel water heater... With the exception of this lousy water heater, the products are fine. In store the interface and help is "okay". Not great but okay.
Online, they are just losers. Too often the AI responds and it does not understand questions, does not help, does not provide information: the AI is just a total waste of time.
If they have actual humans that answer the chat at times... the humans are no more helpful than the failed AI.

2 months, do not have all keys or tags. Tried to get me to buy wrong camper.

"I bought a camper on 8-24-22. I still do not have tags or all of the keys yet. It is 10-26-22 today. They lost some paperwork and made me drive back. First I was sold the wrong camper with a smaller AC that could not cool it from 88 outside below 80 inside and I specifically was told it was 15K BTU. It was 11K. I had not taken it off of the lot when we caught it and I said of course I need the right camper with the features I bought and their ridiculous solution was for me to buy it anyway, pay the tags, and taxes, put the title in my name, let them get paid, and trade it back in some weeks later at obviously a loss and let them make 2 sales for the mistake instead of not turning in the paperwork. Of course, I refused and they finally after a very firm protest agreed to cancel the purchase and sale me another one. They did not care about me or fixing their mistake, just getting paid and making 2 sales instead of one out of their mistake and at my expense. This was very unethical and I will never forget it. It gets worse. I still do not have the keys to the back door. I have asked them several times to order a new one. I had to go get it out of storage and take it in and they did not fix it, put a new lock on the back from some after-market lock off of the shelf. They refused to pull a lock and key off of another camper from the same maker off of an unsold camper to take care of the one that is paid for that needs it and then just replace it when the lock comes in. 3 managers refused to do that. Then the ordered lock was put on hold and I AGAIN asked for a manager to approve taking one off of another unsold camper. Again, no. I called the sales manager Glen who made a call to the Service Manager and promised me a call back the same day. It has been 6 days. I called a few hours ago and could not get a manager, my original service tech, and left another unanswered message. It is worse. I paid over $1,400 for a braking system installed on my truck that I found out is about the most expensive in town. They did not calibrate it as they were expected to. I had to get it calibrated later. I paid $1000 for a weight distribution hitch that they did not calibrate and set to level with my truck. I had to get that done at another location. I asked about mounting a TV and they send a "knowledgeable service tech" to answer my questions when I asked where to mount a TV since the walls are super thin and they have special mounting places, he told me to put a 2-inch bolt into an unsupported place that would have poked a hole right through the wall that is NOT EVEN 2 inches thick! Idiots. Incompetent. They do not care. Save yourself. Do not buy a camper at either the Grain Valley or Legends Locations."

Corporate Incompetent and Ft Myers Dealership

"Bought 2022 Forest River Vibe in September 2022. Trailer damage from Hurricane Ian. Dealership has had trailer for 3 weeks. No estimate given to me yet.
Manager no call back, General Manager no call back, Corporate Complaint office no call back. Camping world is totally Incompetent.
Ian destruction have left many people homeless and that doesn't seem to matter at Ft. MYERS CAMPING WORLD. STAY AWAY.

Biloxi store awful

"The Biloxi store is the pits. I purchased a stackable Splendide washer dryer. Paid cash almost 2000.00 I picked them up around 9:30 am on Saturday. Got them home , stacked them , hooked everything up. And turn on the washer and it coded out . So I tried again and again coded out . I called them up and asked for manager . Heather is her name and I hear she has had the position of 3 weeks. She told me I could Not return it . I only had it 2 hours and it never worked but that she would have to call the manufacture. I was so shocked .they never told me when I came in that I could not return it . She was supposed to call them and return my call by Monday. Not !!!! . Never have I heard from her . I called splendide myself and he told me how to fix it. It’s a 4.00 fix everybody . Call splendide he will tell you . It worked . I went to the store yesterday to purchase something else that says on their online site that it’s in stock. The man told me that just means in stock in the warehouse and it could be ordered. Wow . So I agree with everyone . The Biloxi store has no clue . They obviously don’t train managers before promoting them . And yes I found out I could return it after the fact . Amazing !! If I could give them 0 stars I would . Poor poor management . Heather you need to get trained , then try again, you yourself told me on the phone you didn’t know if I could bring the washer back for another one so I did your job for you . What you should have done was put me on hold and called yourself to find out , instead you did nothing . I had it fixed the very next day by myself . I hear lots people saying they won’t shop this branch . Fix it !!!"

"I ordered 2 sofas, 2 recliners and 2 sets of legs to install the sofas for my rear-engine Class A pusher. I spent $3200 for the furniture, shipping and expedited 2 day shipping. All items were "in stock".
Next day I get an email that the legs for the sofas were "on 2 week backorder". How the hell do you install sofas without legs? (Like buying a new car and find out that the seats are on back order) Mind you they did not bother/offer to refund the $189 I paid for "expedited shipping 2 day ". I had to DEMAND THE REFUND.
I call Camping World Customer Service. After 15 minutes on hold for "questions on my order", I call them on the other line at my office but this time I punch "#1 to place an order". Wonders of wonders, I IMMEDIATELY had a representative (I left the other line on hold to see how long it would take for them to pickup up----30 mins if you have a question on order status but immediate response if you want to order something) The representative refunds my $189 expedited order and tells me the legs will be here "in a few days". She tells me the furniture should "arrive in a few days". I told her "I paid for expedited shipping". Her response is that "expedited shipping" only applies to certain items. I told her that they did not explain that in the order when they charged me $189 extra. She said that Camping World knew all about this and this was a problem that Camping World knew about, that the Customer Service Representatives keep bringing it up to Management and Management never does anything to correct the problem. Finally she takes my info and is going to have a Supervisor call me in the morning. So I hang up and finally the other Camping World representative picks up after I had been on hold for 30 minutes. I asked her why I spent 30 minutes on hold. She said, "its been so super busy here". I told her that was a lie. I had called in and pushed the prompt to place an order and it was picked up immediately. I told her she was lying to me and I wanted to talk to her Supervisor. She hung up on me.

Tip for consumers:
Camping World customer service is the worst of the worst of the worst of the worst.
All the help you will get is cliches, platitudes, fake empathy and a world of worthless word salads of sorrow. (we are sorry for the inconvienience this may have caused you etc..)

I wish I had gone somewhere else to someone who WANTS MY BUSINESS. Maybe RECPRO?

Great Promises when buying a new camper, terrible service when using the warranty!

"On March 27th 2021 went camping in Norrh Carolina! Had trouble opening the slide. Left April 6th and side didn’t close properly!
Called Camping World on April 10th.
They gave us the first appointment available which wasn’t until May 27th!!!!!!
On July 8th I got a call that they had it in the shop and discovered the problem!
On July 11th I got another call telling me they should have the parts in 2-3 weeks!!!!
So hopefully I get it back by August?
I guess camping in 2022 for the summer is over!
Looking forward to 2023! As long as there are no more problems!
If this is the best they can do Marcus Lemonis doesn’t care about profits because I will never buy from them again!!

Stay away from camping world

"This is a letter I wrote to the owner. His response...take a hike. Youre on your own.


To Marcus Lemonis,
I am compelled to write this letter, hopeful to get a response and resolution.
Please be patient as i explain and write a longer story than you'd like. I am Jonathan Mark Hatch and I live in Scarborough, Maine. I am an automotive shop owner and tech for more than 40 years. I am also a commercial pilot 27 plus years. I am happily married with 4 boys. My family camps a lot! My wife and I were in Conway NH. for a weekend in January enjoying a getaway and we stopped in and were met by Destin. A kind salesman and as he should be... willing to hear our needs and wants. He began searching for the right motorhome for us. After several weeks and countless units that he had emailed us, we found a motorhome all of us agreed was "The One". It was a unit that was only a few years old and not enough mileage to have had its first oil change. We put a good faith deposit and got your company to hire a trucking company to reposition it to the Conway store. Please keep in mind that this was at another Camping World dealership and was listed and claimed ready to sell. The motorhome home was delivered to the Conway dealership. We as a family were excited to see it!! Knowing it wasn't serviced, multipoint inspection, completely gone thru, cleaned and ready for us to take ownership by your Conway store, we still wanted to see it. The family loved it. That was pretty much the end of the fantasy experience. The motorhome supposedly went into your shop. The financing gentleman Rick was rude, nasty and condescending. I was ready to walk away, but Greta called to save the sale and apologize. We pressed on and met on the delivery date a couple weeks later. The camper wasn't ready! We did the so called lead tech tour and instructional time of the motorhome. Mind you, remember not only am I a tech but my shop repairs campers and motorhomes. I said nothing of my knowledge and let the tech do the tour. Bluntly, he was lost!! One thing after another I pointed out things that were broken or didn't work. I asked to start the generator and his reply, "oh we can't the camper is outta gas"...so the motorhome got delivered from ohio on fumes? Generator serviced but you didn't find it necessary to actually run it and check its operation? The water filter base was broken off and sitting on the compartment floor. The list i will give later if you'd like on what was wrong, what didnt get fixed, and what I had to fix. The family was asked to go have lunch as supposedly the issues were being addressed. After we returned we found out that nothing was done. Excuses were made and parts were promised to be ordered. Later I found out nothing was ordered. Paperwork was already signed and now my family in debt on the second biggest purchase of our life. But we are good right!? We bought a practically new camper from a nationwide dealership that was just serviced and a stamp of perfection by professionals on the family camper, with promises galore!! Good Sam, extended service, discount fuel, cheap camping!!! Yeaaaa! Drove home and parked it. Yup the onion has many layers. In two days we had realized that the batteries were dead in 24 hours, doors damaged, generator didn't run, electric mirrors didn't work, battery controller issues, drivers window leak, radio defective, water filter still broken, camper dirty, etc. Needless to say I was upset and said the motorhome is coming back to get this stuff fixed! The next day after boosting it i drove the 60 miles to return it the your dealership. Yes the Company Ipad came out and pics of every corner were taken and the failed systems were promised to be repaired. We drove home leaving the motorhome expecting it to be priority and do everything to get it back to us asap.. but nope I was sadly mistaken. A month, maybe a month and a half to repair it!!! What? Are you serious? You delivered a motorhome claiming its 100% ready and two days after you say 6 weeks to repair it?? I think not! You had the motorhome a month. I made my first payment while my camper sat on your lot. This is insane!! Yes I hound! Yes I'm mad! Rightfully so!! The camper was claimed to be repaired minus the doors.(claimed to be ordered the day it was delivered to Conway). We went to pick up the "repaired" motorhome. I was ignored for 30 minutes at the service desk. I walked to the salesman to get the cold shoulder and sent back to service. Yes I'm fuming. No list, no invoice, no explanation, no apologies. Nothing!! I insisted the service contract be eliminated and be issued a refund. Do you blame me? Why should I pay $6500 for future service when you can't even fix basic problems. Why should I spend $6500 when you sell me a motorhome with obvious issues. Why should I trust your service dept? I signed the voided extended service plan and asked how this affected the loan. Nope no rewrite just a payment to the loan was the promise. At this

CW Tallahassee - Stay a way!

"The service department in Tallahassee is a mess, and the manager will not take any responsibly for his team's mistakes.
Starting with the coordinator that bring you back for another visit because they missed the fact they needed the awning down to get the part number (she messed up so much she was let go before I came back for the 2nd visit), a 2nd coordinator with a really bad attitude because she needs to handle many unhappy customers that were mistreated by the previous coordinator (was let go..), a technician that list "bad wiring" as the fix that was done (and CW demand another hour for them to find out again why stopped working after their "fix"), and then they damaged the RV so I had to come back again doe them to fix just half of the damage "because I didn't notice the damage on the bottom were not fixed. Maybe if I didn't have to deal with a drained battery since the tech battery disconnect on ("he keeps doing it") I would have noticed.
I've been to a few different CW locations with different level of service but CAMPING WORLD OF TALLAHASSEE MADE ME STOP WORKING W ALL CAMPING WORLD LOCATIONS AND ALL THE OTHERS UNDER THIS UMBRELLA - THIS IS A COMPANY MENTALITY!!

They Sell Your Information to Telemarketers - Do Not Buy From Them!

"I bought a portable generator cart generator from them via their website. Straightforward transaction, product received quickly. Then the telemarketer calls started for RV Products. I know CampingWorld sells their customer lists, as I do not own an RV, and the only way I would be receiving RV Resort timeshare calls is due to CampingWorld. Beware - they do not have any way on their website to say no to mailing lists, other than not receiving email from them. Do not do business with this firm!"
