Signature only shipping to your credit card billing address. If you are not home and need shipping to another address then you have to print out, fill out, and send them another form. A Hassle. I complained to them in an email and then cancelled my online account so I couldn't track my package. I will never order from them again and will tell the story in both my firearms and retired military blog/wed sites. Update, I did get a FedEx tracking number about an hour after I posted this. "i purchased a ps90 back when factory 50rd mags went for $50 to $90 dollars depending on where you shopped for them.that was 2 or 3 years ago.now with at least 2 other company's making after market mags for the weapon the prices for factory mags have dropped to an average of $30 to $35 bucks apiece.through Cals Sporting Armory i paid around $21 a piece.i'd challenge any other company out there to try and beat that price on factory 50rd mags.also my order was shipped and received in a very short time with no hassle or delay."

"My order arrived quickly, was correct, and everything functioned as expected. The singular reason I give Cal's 4 stars instead of 5 is their shipping policy that requires a signature for delivery.

True, it is posted prominently on their website that this is required; however, it is still burdensome for the consumer. I've made purchases in excess of $10k that did not require a signature for delivery. It seems to me that Cal's has decided to make every order more difficult for their entire customer base, in order to reduce the few lost/mis-delivered packages they would have to deal with otherwise.

I would encourage all future customers of Cal's Armory to sort the complaints listed here by 'rating' and then jump to the back few pages (page 22 on up) and read the responses Cal's posts to customer reviews. See what is written, analyze the tone used with their customers, and determine for yourself if this is who you want to be giving your money to.

My hope is that you order from someone else.

I could only find a single case where Cal's admitted a mistake, and even then the response was a terse 'your credit card has been credited $xx.xx'... NEVER 'We're sorry', or 'We apologize for our error'.

Here, on resellerratings.com, the average score for this place is currently 7.23 out of 10. Percentage-wise that's a 72.3% approval? That was a D- when I went to school. Hard to believe that there's no room for improvement.

As far as a signature being 'required' by Visa; this is just false. I would direct the reader to Visa's own documentation: (http://usa.visa.com/download/merchants/card-acceptance-guidelines-for-visa-merchants.pdf) page 54, which specifically addresses on-line retailers.

The capitalization is mine, but the quote is complete:
"Delivery policy. MERCHANTS SET THEIR OWN POLICIES ABOUT DELIVERY OF GOODS,that is, if they have any geographic or OTHER RESTICTIONS on where or under what circumstances they provide delivery. Any restrictions on delivery must be clearly stated on the website."

Cal's has ELECTED to require a signature. I'd have respect for that if their response to my inital review was something along the lines of: "We require a signature in order to reduce the chance of fraud, and keep our prices low. We know that sometimes it can be an inconvenience, but we find this a necessary step as an on-line retailer in today's market.'

A response from a Cal's which demonstrates professionalism, concern for customers, a desire to continually improve and be the best? That is quite obviously expecting too much..."

"Placed an order Thursday night for 7 mags and a stock, all Magpul. Was slightly skeptical because the price was so great, but figured this place was reputable not to have fake Magpul rip-offs. Site security was broken, which is a huge minus, however everything went on without a hitch. Received an order confirmation, a payment received (and approved) confirmation, and the next day received tracking information. All automated, but fully detailed on how my order was going. Fedex came by today and I signed for the package, opened it up and found everything I ordered, as described. Great transaction, and will continue ordering from here. If you cannot be somewhere to pick up the package, then you should have FedEx hold onto it at a nearby location, or order elsewhere. These guys make it VERY clear that signatures are required, and while I know it's a pain (also shipping to the billing address), it's very clearly stated that these are their terms for shopping at their site.
