"did not full fill order of software and unable to communicate thru email or phone. did return email saying we are following up, but no continued disposition and they quit answering emails. phone will not pick up. $300 software purchase is too much and this makes me upset and do not have anything to show for my purchase. company seems to have problem with language as well due to incoherent email response twice and then nothing additional. stay away since they may be taking orders and money and not ful filling them"

"I was going to order a laptop but because of the reviews, I had a friend check-out their place at 444 S. Flower St. #160, Los Angeles, CA 90071. This was the address posted on their website. The area is very impressive - right at the heart of downtown's financial district, except for one problem... California Computer Center is NOT there! In it's place is a restaurant - Cafe Delight. I searched the internet if they had other addresses and found 3930 Broadway Place, Los Angeles, CA 90037. This is actually in one of the scarey parts of downtown. I wonder if Cafe Delight is aware of this?"

"Same sad story as many others here. Ordered a laptop computer, was charged the next day, but never received the product because it was not available anymore.
Was told that I would receive the refund soon. Ended up believing them for too long. By the time I tried to dispute the charges with my bank it was more than three months and the bank would not issue a credit.
At California Computer Center they claim that a refund was issued in January, but I verified with my bank that I never received any money.
Will probably have to take legal action.

"WARNING!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!! We ordered and received a damaged printer in March 2011. After 3 weeks we got authorization to return and a promise of another printer ASAP. We returned printer. Nothing. After another 2 weeks and numerous emails they finally acknowledged receipt and were to ship replacement. Another 16 business days and nothing. After numerous emails we were told they were issuing a full credit for the $668 because they could not fulfill order. It is now 4 months from initial purchase. No printer, no refund, no further responses to email. We are a non-profit serving sexual assault victims. This was a HUGE amount of money for us to lose. DO NOT TAKE THE CHANCE."

"DO NOT BUY FROM Californiacomputer.com or Californiacell.com. They are scam artist. I purchase $500 computer from their site, and never received my order. Contacted them over 7 times with my bank representative on the phone in the past 4 month.Not luck to have my money back. DON'T Let Their Low price fool you.By the way, I already file complaint with California DA, FBI and BBB."

"Do not order from this company. I ordered a proffesional photo scanner from them in January of 2010. It took 2 months to receive it and I never received a tacking number. The item was not on back order, it just took them forever to get it ordered from the factory and on it's way. That scanner was stolen from my home in June of 2010. I contacted them again to replace the stolen scanner in January of 2011. I chose to order from them again because they still had the best price and I was hoping to transfer my extended warranty to the new scanner. I was contacted by email on January 27th because the scanner was no longer available. Nick was very helpful, found one that was available and asked if I would be interested even though the cost was a little higher. I called and told him to go ahead and change the order to the one that was available. They immediately took the $1738.00 from my account and sent me an email saying that it had been ordered and I should receive it in 7 to 10 days. I did not receive it. Contacted them by email (the only way to communicate with them because they don't answer the phone or return phone calls) and was told that it was on back order until March. Contacted them again in March and was told it was still on back order. Contacted them on April 4th and cancelled the order and asked for a refund. The sales department had no problem with me cancelling and said that they had credited my account. However, the credit was never received by my bank. After trying to contact a manager over 100 times in various ways I finally was able to get a managers extension (from Nick once again, the only employee at the company who answers his emails and phone calls)I was able to get a hold of Kevin, Nick's supervisor by phone today May 11, 2011 but was still unable to get my refund. He says that there records show that the refund transaction went through. I had to file a fraud charge with my bank to try and get my money through VISA directly. Some one has committed fraud and I hope VISA finds out who it was and prosecutes them! "

"I wish this site had come up the first time I searched for reviews of CCC. I would never have placed my order. My story reads like most of the other reviews listed. I placed an order on Feb.9,and credit card was charged the same day. I received an update with a staus of "shipped" on Feb. 15 but never received a tracking number. Phone conversations and e-mail responses are very abstract. Long story short, received this message on Feb. 28 in response to one of my e-mails... "I am also checking with my direct manager regarding the product number assigned to your order. He will check if the unit is on backorder." BACKORDER??? Feb. 15 status listed it as "SHIPPED". I cancelled the order on Mar. 1 and received a message that I would get a refund in 4 to 10 days. I also filed a dispute with my cardholder the same day. Also just like the review posted by "Epiphanies" on 2/28/11, a short time after placing my order with CCC two fraudulent charges appeared on my card and I had to have it cancelled. Still patiently waiting for that refund, do yourself a favor, DO NOT ORDER FROM CALIFORNIA COMPUTER CENTER !!! I really needed the item so ordered it through Amazon and received it in 2 days. CCC's lower price is of no value if all you get are headaches and no merchandise. "

"A TYPICAL BAIT AND SWITCH:

My recommendation is to anyone, even contemplating, placing an order with this company, avoid them as if they have Leprosy.

I ordered a Lazer Printer, cost $359.00, including shipping, December 30 2010 to be charged to my credit card, which was debited the same day I placed the ordered. After many e-mails, with generic replies that it was being worked on, and failed phone calls, to find out the status of my order. I finally received the following e-mail.
Exact wording and spelling.

Sorry we couldn’t release your order from manufacture distributor center, Because there is no more promotion price on this product. New cost is $465.00. Please let us know if still want to ship product to you with new price. Difference price of $106.00 can charge on your credit card.
Please advise-

I advised, by phone and talked to Richard, as well as advising by e-mail to the same person. To advise them I was not prepared to spend the additional $106.00 and please credit my Visa card with the original charged amount. I was advised it would take a minimum of two weeks to process the credit, which never did come.
I had to contact my Credit Card Company and request a credit, as I did not get any product or service for the charge on my Credit Card. I was issued a credit immediately.

If you order from this company, I feel very strongly, all you will get is a heart ache, a lot of stress plus the possibility of loosing your money.

"Ordered a desktop from California Computer. Failed to ck the reviews. Like everyone else we had terrible service. Never got our computer. Couldn't get to talk to anyone. Got one e-mail that didn't tell us anything. But they wasted no time billing our credit card. Will never do business with them again. Recommend if you don't get the service promised in the time promised, contact your payer and disputer charges immmediately. Better yet, don't even look at their website. Worse company we have ever ordered from. They surely won't be in business much longer. "

"On 1/24/11, I placed an order from the California Computer Center (CCC) website for an Acer PC whose manufacturing had, in truth, been long since been discontinued. CCC sent me a purchase invoice, billed my Discover Card for it, never shipped it, & never contacted me about it's availability issue beyond an order confirmation invoice. When I attempted to contact CCC, all phone lines & email addresses rejected all customer communications, except for the "Sales Dept" line. On 2/7/11, I spoke with a CCC Sales Dept. representative & requested a refund for my purchase. However, by 2/11/11 no refund was issued & my order status at CCC's website still reflected a "Pending" order, & not "Canceled", despite my cancellation request.

CCC's Sales representative offered to substitute another PC model for the one I ordered at the same price, as an even exchange at no additional charge to me, instead a refund. I accepted this offer, & comparable model #VX488G-UQ8400W was OKed as a substitute by sales clerk "Nick" on 2/11/11. "Nick" said it would ship Monday 2/14/11, & arrive at my door Wednesday 2/23/11. After receiving no order #, tracking number, or confirmation of shipment for this substitution from CCC, I wrote "Nick" 2/15/11 to request them. On 2/17/11, one week after our initial agreement, "Nick" emailed me to renege on the even exchange agreement we had reached together by telephone on 2/11/11 - & asked me for $50 more, in order to complete the transaction. Because CCC broke our agreement a second time, & has been giving me the run-around for weeks, & I said No. On that date of 2/17/11 I requested a refund of my money from "Nick" - & as of this date CCC still has not refunded my money, all of my attempts at communication have been ignored, & I have heard nothing more from CCC. At this time, however, I am still making payments to Discover Card for a PC I have never received.

As a result, I am now forced to wait until 3/5/11 when I can file a dispute for my 1/24/11 transaction with CCC at Discover Card, to finally get my money back...so that I can use funds to purchase a PC from a reputable dealer who will actually maintain sales agreements & ship me the merchandise I purchase.

As a side note... According online reviews on this site & elsewhere, CCC has developed a growing reputation for following this same pattern with other customers. Customers purchase a high priced item that CCC is not in possession of at the time, followed by extensive waiting periods, circular communications, & empty promises, during which time the customer's credit card capital is tied up in the transaction & used by CCC, while no merchandise is ever received, after which customers can only get a refund by way of a credit card fraud dispute process. By the time a customer disputes their charge & obtains a refund, CCC has already lured several more unsuspecting buyers into similar unfulfilled transactions, & so the process continues.

As a further side note... Beginning 2/15/11, around $1500 worth of mysterious charges for high priced computer equipment was fraudulently purchased directly from PC manufacturers with my Discover card, by an unknown source. When I spoke with Discover Card's financial security & fraud investigation department, they thought it was all too coincidental that my problematic dealings with CCC occurred at the same exact time as this particular variety of identity theft. Discover Card asked me if I thought I knew who the source of this fraud might be, & I asked them to look into CCC, who is by its definition running a "Ponzi scheme", when investigating the source of the theft.

"They are a scam outfit--ordered an HP laptop. Never did get any confirmation of shipping after 9 days. They work on a 4% charge if you cancel the order! Called my credit card co. filed a dispute. Still in process--don't order anything here!!!!!!! Big rip off outfit!!"
