"On 1/18 I paid online for these two monitors with PayPal. That day I got an email from California Computer Center saying the item would ship in 5 to 8 business days. I waited a week and heard nothing from them about the item shipping. On 1/25 I called and spoke with John at Order Status. He told me the monitors were in stock locally and “would ship right away”. I then got an email saying they had shipped but would not get any tracking for them for 1 to 3 days. I never saw any tracking numbers, so on 1/31 I called again, finally got John after leaving multiple messages, and he said "If I promise they will ship today with no extra charge, do you want to continue with this order?". When I asked what my options were John then said that "I could cancel the order and get a full refund." Since California Computer did not live up to its previous promises, I decided that cancelling the order and going elsewhere for the monitors was the best thing to do. I asked John how soon I would get my money, and he said "Since it was paid through PayPal I would get my money right away." When I pressed him for a day, he said "You will get your money today or tomorrow". At that point I told John to cancel my order. I then got an email saying my order was cancelled and that I should reply to the email to confirm the cancellation - which I did immediately - and that I would get my money refunded within 2 to 10 days.
After 10 days without seeing any refund, on 2/9 I opened a PayPal dispute for this transaction. On 2/10 at 12:20pm PST I called California Computer again, tried connecting to “Accounting” and got a human named “Kenny”. I described the situation, was told to “please hold while I check it out”, and then told that the money was already refunded to my PayPal account. Since I had checked my PayPal account 10 minutes before calling California Computer and noticed that the account balance was $0.00, I told “Kenny” that I wanted to check my account before I believed him. I checked the account and found that California Computer had issued the refund at 12:22pm PST, in other words “Kenny” had issued it while I was on the phone with him. This could have been done any time after I had cancelled the order, but I had to wait 10 days and make yet one more call to California Computer to back them into a corner and force them to refund my money. This company is one of the worst I have ever dealt with and should be shut down.

"They are horrible...JVO/John/Sales/Customer service... they are horrible.. I feel like it's a scam...I Ordered a PC and 4 four monitors on 12/7/2010. They changed my card in full same day. everytime I called to get order status they kept promising it would be shipped at the end of the day. Got sick of their lies never shipped and never received...so I cancelled on 12/22/2010 - I sent over many emails and called over 10 times to get the refund and all i heard was "sorry about the inconvenience".. "sent it to the manager".."resent it..".. "let me talk to the billing manager" they are really aweful and now after reading the reviews.. It really sounds like a big scam... I have filed a complaint with http://www.ic3.gov
please if you have any simliar complaint please write to the ic3.gov, hopefully sometime the FBI will invistagate them.

"Like so many of you, I ordered 2 laptops in December, and never received any sort of shipping notification - although they charged my credit card immediately. I finally emailed them to cancel the order - whereupon they told me the computers had already shipped. This never occurred, because a month later, I've never received them. I have exchanged emails with them at least 6 times requesting a refund, to which they always reply that they're escalating the issue, and don't know why it hasn't been done. I've opened a dispute with my credit card, and am 100% sure this is what it will take to finally get my $918 refund.

Don't believe a single good thing you hear about this company. They must write their own positive reviews, because there's no product, no shipping, no refund. I can't imagine why credit card companies even bother to do business with them. Stay away from California Computer!

"I ordereda a laptop on dec 7 and i need it for travel on dec 13.
they charge my credit card inmediatly and charge my for the express deliver. but i never get my laptop. they never answer the phone. i have to dispute the charges with my bank.

"The day I ordered I got an email about my order and an email saying it was shipped, but the credit card was not charged. It is now 10 days and no communications from them at all. If you notice they hide the telephone number on their site. It is only in Google's cache. But no matter, they will not answer the phone or return messages.

BEWARE!!!!! FRAUDULENT!!!!!!

"I ordered a Dell laptop for my husband's Christmas gift on 12/11/2010. My credit card was charged on 12/13/10. I received an email notice of shipping on 12/17/10. The computer never arrived and on 12/23 I started trying to make contact with them and only got voicemail. I left many messages and then resorted to emails, which they never responded to . On Jan 3, 2011 I went to my bank to dispute the charges on my Visa, which I soon was credited back the amt which I had been charged on 12/13/10. I never received any communication from California Computer Center, they are horrible at customer service and do not send in an appropriate time. Today, 1/5/11 I received the laptop I ordered with a Fed Ex ship date of 12/31/10!! What a pitiful company to have dealt with!!! Never again...don't waste your time and $$ on this company!!"

"I am disappointed. I ordered a document scanner on 12/21/10 and expected it within a week, mostly because my office is 30 miles from CA Computer Center and I could walk there in a day. On 12/28, the Order Status VM said that the guy was at lunch for 2.5 hours before I reached a warm body. They said they would look into my Order, and then I got an email saying that they had moved my Order from from Charge (12/21 and 4% Cancellation charge) to Shipping (12/28 and 5% Cancellation charge)."

"DO NOT BUY from this company. As the other reviews say, this company charges your credit card immediately but then doesn't send you any product. I wish I had saw these reviews first . Been waiting since Nov. 29th for my laptop to arrive. Called several times but only once actually got a person who was apologetic and said "order did not get shipped from the warehouse for some reason and he would get my order shipped out that day and upgrade me to overnight." Well, it has been over 7 days since that call and nothing. No email replies - I've sent three order status requests, and nobody answers the phone, just voicemail that nobody ever calls you back. Spread the word to never shop there. Hope to get my money back!"

"I do not recommend purchasing from California Computer Center. They have very poor customer service and are very slow in shipping an order, if at all. Even though I was told my order would ship the next day, after seven days they can not tell me if it is shipped. They seem to only send out tracking information if you request it. I requested by phone and by email and have yet to receive any confirmation from them. There are just to many of these type of e-sellers on the Internet today and consumers need to expose them.

It should be obvious to every looking at these reviews that you have a very slim chance of being a satisfied customer of this company. "DO NOT buy from California Computers! I ordered a Network Hub that was in stock and here almost 3 weeks later no product and $327 dollars charged to my credit card on the day of the order Nov 16, 2010. After numerious emails of which only one was answered with a bunch of BS about order was at Manufactures Wherehouse and tracking should be shortly and I also called a number of times only to leave a message because no one answers the phone I recieved another email product was coming shortly because weight was entered but still No tracking info. I called my credit card holder to stop the charges as I was not getting any product as ordered. Again DO NOT purchase anything from business because you will not get your product!"

"Don't waste your time ordering anything from California Computers. They charged my credit card as soon as I placed the order, but after a week I started getting phone calls saying they had run out of the computer I ordered, and trying to sell me something else. I got three phone calls; the first two from people who didn't seem to know what they were talking about. They didn't speak English very well and didn't quite have the talking points down. The third guy did, though, and he was kind of a bully. The probably never had the computer I ordered in stock. It took five weeks to get a refund ($950). I don't know what finally did it -- the letter I sent to consumerist.com or that I started posting about them on Twitter."
