"I ordered what I thought was two protective screens for garmin nuvi 760GPS units for $12.95. $16.35 was billed for this order, including $3.40 shipping. The shipping was placing the protective screen in a business envelope then adding 64 cents postage to the envelope. The single protective screen is ok but clearly not worth $16.40. I emailed Boxwave complaining of the high cost and only receiving one screen instead of two screens. They replied the screens are available for $9.00 - $12.00 from other sources. When I requested the email addresses of these other sources they replied the $9.00 - $12.00 prices are other devices not the nuvi 760. BoxWave is a major rip off!!! I will never ever do business with them again."

"I ordered a fuchsia colored crystal slip for my Samsung Instinct cell phone. When the item arrived it was the wrong color. I emailed the company and they immediately emailed me back, apologized, and attached a prepaid return slip for me to return the wrong item. At the same time, they issued another order for the correct item which arrived, as promised, a few days later. They couldn't have been nicer about the return and reorder. I will definitely order from Boxwave again!"

"I ordered a Clear Touch Anti-Glare screen for my Garmin nuvi 350 GPS. I received a conformatio with an estimated delivery date. After a week past that date, I contacted them and told them I didn't receive it. They told me that it must have gotten lost in the mail and would send a replacement in a couple of days. Wouldn't you know it, I received it the next day. I cancelled the reorder. Back to the Anti Glare screen: It made absolutely no difference. It does protect the screen though. Save your money."

"Not too happy with these guys. I ordered a miniSync retractable USB cable for my Axim x51v and have been using it for the past several months. Recently I noticed the cable stopped retracting and then I noticed the entire unit came loose and ended up completely falling apart today! I emailed customer service and got a prompt reply back saying the warranty is only for 100 days and after that I would just have to buy another one - they offered a 15% coupon code. Considering I spent $99.xx at their store, and the USB cable was only $5~, I would have hoped they would just send a replacement out. Instead, I'm given the option to spend more money for another one (which will probably break just after 100 days again) + shipping. I think not.

This is the last time I'm buying anything from these guys. They seem responsive, but don't seem to have the right answers.

"Ordered 4 screen protectors for digital camera LCD screens and some microfiber cleaning cloths (required custom order). Customer service rep was very helpful and responsive. "I bought 4 flexiskins for my Pharos traveler GPS 525. They are pretty hard to find at any store or online, the only other place I found them was on ebay from a seller in Hong Kong who removed his listing. At first I was a little hesitant to buy from boxwave due to the less than stellar reviews but decided to buy them anyway since they were on sale for 99 cents each. Shipping was a little more than I expected but considering I couldn't find these skins anywhere else I decided to go ahead. After placing my order I received a confirmation email immediately followed by a notification ~2 days later stating one of the colors was no longer in stock and that my order would be placed on hold until I changed my order, I emailed back stating to give me a clear skin in place of the one sold out so there is no need to credit my account. I was pleasantly surprised since I received a response within a couple of hours after made my changes. The responder was also very friendly and changed my order with no questions. my order shipped the next day and came a couple of days early. I would definitely do business with them again."

"I have ordered from Boxwave in the past for a 3g iPod and have been very happy with their products. They're not flashy, but they are very utilitarian, fit my iPod perfectly and are good quality.

As for customer service, I just ordered a skin for my new iPod video and noticed in the confirmation email that shipping could take 24-48 hours, so I looked for a phone number, found none on the website, but found one here. Called it and a nice young lady answered, indicated that it would definitely ship tomorrow which would mean that it will arrive when needed.

She was very helpful, cheerful and answered all questions quickly and, I hope, accurately, we'll see. If my skin doesn't arrive by Friday (2-day DHL), I'll post a note to that effect here.

(UPDATE)--> It's 36 hours later and since my order was placed and I placed a call to Boxwave asking if they can ship it in time, has come two emails from Boxwave confirming the call, promising to get the item shipped and an email reporting that the item shipped as promised with tracking info. And this morning DHL delivered the item one day _early_. I was hoping for Friday, it came Thursday morning. I don't know if my post here played any part, but my experience with Boxwave has been stellar. Five out of five stars!

BTW, I just realized this morning that the skin on my Treo 650 is also a Boxwave skin and when my wife bought a Blackberry 8800 I put a skin and a screen protector on her device as well. In all cases the orders went smoothly and the products perform as advertised.

One note about why I/we now own four Boxwave Flexiskins. I didn't kneejerk the selection after buying the first skin from Boxwave, in each case I looked at every competing product I could find a review or a photo on and made each choice independently. In each case I just found that the Flexiskins were the best balance of design, fit and utility. Some skins had better belt connectors, others had trendier, flashier or sharper design and some skins had more complete protection for all parts including (on the iPods) the dock port and hold slider and some were easier to use with a docking stand. But sometimes, "perfect" isn't what's really required and the Flexiskin just seems like something I'd design if I were going to protect my pretty and fragile electronic devices.

Sure, I'd like something to show off my new black iPod's shiny surface, but I just don't see anything that can do that and still be the silicone rubber I prefer. I don't like the hard plastic cases.

"I ordered on 7/17/06 and received the product on 7/19/06. So far so good, right? Wrong. I ordered a Cleartouch for my Palm Tx and that was shown on my invoice and packing slip. They sent me product for a Tungsten T5. I've emailed twice and called twice with no response at all. They don't list a phone number on their website. I found the number on switchboard. The phone is answered by a machine that says they're not available. I phoned several times during business hours. There's never anyone there and the calls aren't returned. I've heard they have good products. I would advise buying them through a reputable reseller so you have some recourse if there's a problem. These guys are out to lunch. I'm not sure they're even still in business.

Later today, I received an email reply saying the product I received works for the Palm Tx. So they sent the right product, but it was poorly labeled, they took 2 days to respond, and they don't answer their phone. I'm not changing or my recommendation to do business with a reseller, and not Boxwave directly.

"After the item I ordered arrived, I discovered that it did not fit my device. So I emailed Boxwave and was provided with a RMA number and returned it via their normal return process and policy.

However, Boxwave then tried to claim that I had returned it with no RMA number and that the product had been used! I had and RMA and the product was not at all used.

They proceeded to charge me a 10% restocking fee even though it was not my fault that they sent me the incorrect item and the product they advertised on their site did not fit even my device as advertised.

Boxwave.com has no customer service phone number published on their website at all (very shady), but here is their number: ***-***-****.

When I called, they were very evasive and said that the department that would be able to help me was closed, even though I called during normal business hours!

I am very dissapointed and will *never* order with Boxwave again. They are totally unhelpful and completely unfair to customers.

"After reading many positive reviews on ClearTouch screen protectors, I decided to purchase one from Boxwave. I easily found one for my Cowon A2 PMP on their website. They had a decent price and cheap shipping.

I made the order on July 10th, in the evening and got a confirmation the same night. Their website did a decent job at tracking order status. The order shipped the next day (11th) but I wasn't notified until the 12th.

My order arrived on the 13th via USPS. It was put in a thick, white envelope; I would've preferred a padded envelope, but they did include 3 flattened packing peanuts (not sure that helped). Nevertheless, the item was in perfect condition.

If you are interested in the screen protector, I bought the ClearTouch Crystal screen protector. It was fairly easy to put on, as long as you have canned air ready to blow away dust. Bubbles were a bit annoying to remove, but not too bad, they include an applicator to help. The screen protector is truly crystal clear; HOWEVER, you should note that it is VERY reflective since the surface is so smooth. If you are bothered by this, get the anti-glare version, though I don't think it will be as clear as the crystal version.

"03/09/06: Placed order for 6 Unique SmartPhone accessories.
03/10/06: Credit Card Charged
03/13/06: Realized I had no tracking notice. Emailed customer service.
03/14/06: CS replied that one item was out of stock, but it was expected by 21st. Given option to cancel, skip item, or wait. I chose to wait.
03/20/06: Noticed held item's availablity was "Instock" on website.
03/21/06: Got shipping notice that item had shipped the pervious day. (Web site inventory had been accurate.)

Items should arive in a few day.

Positives:
* Good product selection - some unique
* Customer service quickly responds to inquiries.
Negatives:
* Immediate charge of card
* Would prefer charges held until item shipment
* They did not notify me of delay, I had to ask.

Overall - I'd order from them again if they had a unique accessory that I wanted or the only other vendors were unrated/unproven. Boxwave prices are fair and comparable to what you would expect at local retail. Website storefront inventory may be accurate (I wasn't paying attention). By ordering 6 items at once, It's understandable that one might not be immediately available. While not exceptional, their service is acceptable. (I'm so used to expceptional services, I tend to be over-critical of anything that's only average).

"I ordered a set of PDA screen protectors. Their site has a permanent "In Stock and Ready to Ship!" notice with this item. They promise to ship in 24-48 hours. After a day I checked the status and found out it was "Awaiting Stock". I sent an email asking how this differed from "Backordered". They said they were temporarily out of stock and would be getting more the next day. A week later they had still not shipped. I received my credit card statement and found out I had been charged the day I ordered. I sent an email asking that the order be cancelled if it was not shipping that day. They said they had credited by account and would charge again when they received the shipment "sometime next week". They also gave me a code for 15% off my NEXT purchase.
Buyer beware with this outfit.

"Unbelievable!!! My experience as a customer with BoxWave has honestly been the single most exceptional purchasing experience I've ever encountered. I was simply amazed by the outstanding customer support provided by BoxWave. It all began with an e-mail to BoxWave inquiring about one of their products. The reply came much sooner than expected and was very informative. They gave me all the information I needed and more allowing me to make a well educated purchase. During the shipping process there was a problem with the delivery due to an error in the mailing address I provided. I was contacted immediately by a live customer service representative to resolve the issue and the product arrived without delay. After receiving the product I ran into some technical problems which left me stumped and unable to use my product. I sent a message to BoxWave's customer support e-mail address which, unlike many other websites, was very easy to locate. Again, I received a prompt reply complete with technical information and links to websites where I could download programs useful to operating my product. After further failed attempts to operate my product I soon realized that the problem was not with the product itself but with the item I was trying to use it with. Unable to use the product, I contacted BoxWave about returning it for a full refund. At this point I assumed BoxWave might be tiring of my correspondence but again I received a quick and pleasant response from customer service with instructions on how to return my product for a full refund. Within two weeks of dropping the product off at the post office a full refund was credited back to my account just as promised. Simply put my experience with BoxWave was Unbelievable!!! In the often detached customer-seller relationship of on-line retail, it is reassuring to know that there are still some businesses which value the individual customer despite the world wide marketplace.
