It says priority delivery is 1-3 days, but it has been more than 4days I did not receive it yet, and I call them, they said it is not their responsibility cause it is delivered to USPS, and I need to talk to USPS. it doesn't make sense cause I didn't pay the money for USPS, and I didn't buy the book through USPS. When I contacted BookHolders to follow up on my sale, the representative at the time said BookHolders did not have a record of my shipment and could not help me. "I didn't look at reviews before using this site and I'm glad I didn't. Mostly negative stuff which is pretty unfair. I bought my book (for around 100 dollars less than the bookstore price), and within 6 days (only 4 business days) it arrived in the mail. My book is in super good condition, with just a little bit of wear on the corners of the book. No markings or anything really bad. My only problem with the whole process was with USPS, since my package wasn't marked as shipped until 2 days before I received the book, but Bookholders customer service made sure my order was sent and helped me out. It was quite wonderful. I highly recommend this site overall."
"There are some arrogant individuals that will literally deliberately stuff their own faces in front of you knowing that they are undervaluing you and being unappreciative. These cheap individuals run a simple scam, asking that you work more, for less, and think themselves superior to everyone else, because those thoughts were hammered into their thick skulls at a young age. They break promises and demand that you keep every word of yours. They will not stand face to face when they can be equally criticized, but instead hide behind the power to spread rumors and ignorant accusations from afar. They try to find fault in an honest day’s work and ask that you not take it personally when falsely accused and they do this frequently. They careless about those who work hard, yet praise themselves for trying to defame and send others into poverty. They will stall their payment and deliberately cause you to starve as they pocket money and save on your misfortune. They then ask of you to give up property for no compensation. They have no respect for the older peers and while lye about their own youth pretending to have had years of experience and real world wisdom. They do not take into any account of individual living situations and worldly affairs. They will hide your hard earned money from you as if dangling your pay on a string in front of your face and laugh. "

"HORRIBLE COMPANY! I ordered this textbook more than a week before classes started to be shipped to school in Ohio, but never received an email that it had shipped, even though I paid extra for expedited shipping. I emailed the company the weekend before classes started but no response, so I called the Monday classes began. I got bounced around from location to location trying to get an explanation about my order, and was eventually told that it was cancelled because they tried to call my phone number to verify the order, and didn't reach me. Biggest BS reason I ever heard. However they managed to charge my credit card the day after the order. I waited for a refund, and my credit card was finally credited, but less the $6.99 expedited shipping charge. Worse company I have ever had to deal with, and I've had to deal with Comcast a bazillion times."

Bought a book from BookHolders through Half.com, and I was lucky at that, since I got my money back 24hrs after I filed a complaint with half.com. I would be very upset had I bought it directly from them, and I recommend you to avoid such endeavour yourself, much like most of the other reviews here are saying: DO NOT BUY HERE!
Long version:
It seems that BookHolders exist for a noble cause, mainly it can provide cheap alternative to college student looking for otherwise expensive textbooks. So what's wrong? The search function on the site is hard to use, the info that is given for each book is incomplete and sometimes just plain wrong. Overall site design looks like its from the 90's.
Condition of the book seems random (most of the times over-rated) which is usually important (unless you buy a book about gambling maybe)
Customer service is almost non-existent. They did not reply to my mail to try to resolve the condition issue. The only reason they get 2 stars is because I got a refund quickly (again only because half.com)
The good: My book came in fast and was very cheap (sub $1 price) however how good is to get a cheap book that is not in the promised condition? or full with writings and circled answers in places that you may or might not supposed to write in?
I'm not sure where BookHolders get their books from but their inability to sort them and catalogue them correctly makes this service pretty much useless, noble cause and all.

"I will never use this company again. I ordered a book that said "excellent" condition, with o writing or highlighting on it. When I got it there was nothing but writing and highlighting. When I politely asked them to exchange my textbook, they said I would have to pay for a new textbook altogether! With the difference in price being way over $80. They said the students who post their books are allowed to (LIE) say what condition their book is in without them looking at it.
You're better off buying from ANYWHERE else but here! If I could put 0 starts I would."

"I didn't need my book for this class so I attempted to return it, their policy is that I have 30 days to return it but the 30 days starts the day they ship it, not the day I receive it. I got the book one week after they sent it and I sent the book back within the 30 days of the sent date but they would not accept my return because they got it a week after I sent it. (which would still have been 30 days since I've received the book) Not only would they not accept my return, they offered to sell the book for much less than i paid for it, so I just wanted the book back to sell myself. They said I can get my book back once I pay for shipping. I paid the original shipping, shipping to return the book and now I have to pay to get my book back! I will never buy a book here again, they were very unhelpful, awful customer service. It's like I'm emailing a computer because I get the same automated responses, and every time I've tried to call no one ever answers. THEY ARE AWFUL!"
