"Placed order for Olympus C-5050 ($575) online Thursday (01/09/2003) with Visa card. Was contacted at work (with number I provided) by Bilibi.com sales account representative the following Monday. At my query, he assured me this was in fact US-market camera with valid US warrantee, etc. He encouraged me to purchase a number of accessories and an extended warrantee package, all of which I politely declined, however, I did elect to purchase an Olympus 41-53 lens tube ($29) and a camera carrying case ($39), bringing the total cost to about $665 (including about $20 S+H UPS ground). Later that day, I was issued a UPS tracking number. Product arrived two days layer (01/15/2003). Camera and all parts were packed cleanly in Olympus box, along with the two accessories purchased. Camera was as promised: a new US market camera with full warrantee. No problems, I am a happy purchaser."

"Placed order on Dec29. Was called the following Thurs. for sales pitch. Was told Olympus c5050 was in stock. Even added more accessories to my order. Called Bilibi Jan12th,and was told it was on backorde,for 4-6 more weeks. Wasted 2 weeks waiting. Canceled the order. Customer service people dont tell the truth."

"Ordered online, website said it was in stock. Called 2 days later to see if it shipped. Guess what! They said 4 weeks to ship. BUT if I bought 500 dollars in "JUNK" it would ship in a day. I wasnt born yesterday. All these "cheap" guys are the same. HORRIBLE, DO NOT USE THEM. LET THEM GO BANKRUPT"

"I ordered an Olympus C4000 for $349. When I called to confirm, I was offered accessories at about twice the “street” price. There was no pressure, but the delivery was to be in two or three weeks. I thought about it and sent an e-mail canceling the order. It was acknowledged promptly; my credit card wasn’t charged.

From reading the comments posted to this site, I’m sure I could have negotiated a decent price by including some accessories. I eventually purchased the camera from another re-seller for $375.

These guys don’t charge your credit card until the item ships AND they honor your request to cancel, “no questions asked”.

Try that on eBay!!

They may be hustlers, but they are not crooks.

You could, as I almost did, walk into a Costco “Wholesale” Club and pay $499.00 for the same camera.

Who are the bad guys.?? Is it Bilibi trying to squeeze out a $25 or $50 profit, or Costco, charging $125 over the “street” price??

Beats me.

"I ordered an Olympus C4000 digital camera from bilibi, 144 Avenue T, Brooklyn, NY 11223. The advertised price was $340.00. Shortly after placing the order, I called for the expected shipping date. The camera was backlogged and would not be shipped for at least 3-weeks. I was however, offered a chance to purchase an accessory package which I declined. In late November, I again called and was told the camera was not available as a single item but was only available with an accessory package consisting of a camera case, extra batteries, and a charger. I agreed to order the accessory package with the understanding the order would be shipped within a day or two. The value of this order was now $409.99. The order was shipped 3-days later, but only the camera – no accessory package.

I have attempted to contact bilibi several times about this matter. First by e-mail on Dec 10th and later by phone. I have received NO information on my complaint from bilibi.

The compensation I am seeking is that bilibi ship to me the accessory package that I was pressured to buy and for which I have paid.

"Ordered Fuji Finepix 3800 from this company, with hope of having for Christmas. Got the call to sell me accessories, which I didn't need. Was a little rudely told I needed to know more about LENS FILTERS when I wouldn't buy one, but order was shipped promptly anyway - arrived day before Christmas Eve. VERY SATISFIED; GOOD PRICE; GOOD PRODUCT, even tho I know what I need to know about lens filters."

"Ordered a Fuji S602 Zoom digital camera - advertised as "In Stock", but after a quick phone call, I was fed the standard discount-reseller line: "Those will be in Monday; we have a great deal on faster shipping and accessories/warranties you can't live without"

I cancelled my order immediately upon hearing this schpiel. I would never odrer from this company without validating their online inventory data against info from a quick phone call.

Great prices, but looks like you pay with anxiety.

"I bought a panasonic mini dv camcorder pvdc252 on nov 26 and of course i got the hard sell for over priced accesseries but i bought the filters, which i was going to buy on ebay, and a carry case for 100 dollars which was still way over priced but i still saved money. the camcorder was shipped on dec 5 and recieved on dec 10 it is a US camcorder with a US warranty and was a brand new, never opened camcorder. i opened it to make sure that it was and that everything was there. i guess i got lucky. before it was shipped i found this web site and got pretty nerves so i called and they told me it was shipped and i told the guy about all the bad reviews and he became very angry and insolence ,which i didn't care for. so i told him goodbye. all in all i got the camcorder, 3 filters and a pretty nice carry case with shipping for 627 dollars. at dbuys they had the camcorder for 587 plus 24 shipping. and ebay had the filters for 20 dollars plus 8 dollars for shipping and walmart had a carry case for 10 dollars. if i would have bought it that way it would have cost me 641 dollars and best buy wanted 699 for the camcorder. i will never do business with them again because of how the do business."

"I had the same experience almost everyone on this site had. Ordered Minolta Xi online Dec. 9, received a call the same night from Bilibi salesman telling me that as a "first time customer" I was entitled to a "free" item if I purchased two accessories for my camera. I finally agreed to the memory card with a free camera case, which increased the price almost $100. After getting busy signals all day and being on hold for 10 minutes, I finally talked to Jason, who assured me my order would be shipped Dec. 17 in time for Christmas delivery. Today I called back and was told it had not been shipped. I cancelled my order. The charges went through on my credit card the day after I ordered my camera. I think they tare using customer money to cover purchases of merchandize to cover previous orders. This company is a scam and is engaging in unfair trade practices. Stay away from them!!!"

"Purchased a JVC Mini DV Camcorder online almost 2 weeks ago with the same complaints as others listed. No active online tracking of the shipping process, it is there but it never displays a status. Numerous calls to a busy line. When I finally get through I am on-hold for over 15 minutes. Once a customer sales representative comes on line I learn that the camcorder that I ordered on line 10 days ago has yet to ship, and by the way did I know that as a member of their web site I am eligible for discouts on accessories. When I told him that I did not want accessories they said I would have my camcorder in two weeks. From everything that I read here I didnt want to waste my time...I cancelled my order. Best to stay away from this one. I should also note that dealtime ranked these guys 4 out of 5 and I think epinion gave them 3.5 out of 5. Glad I found this site before I order another camcorder."

"I have had a horrible exerience with Bilibi. I placed my order 2 weeks ago. I received a confirmation email from them. However, I waited and waited and never heard anything from them again. I checked on the website to track my order and it was never given a status. I emailed them to no avail. I called them MULTIPLE times to no avail. From what I've read from other people that have rated Bilibi, and my own experiences, these people are ripping us off! I can't even get a hold of anyone to cancel my order! And now it's 9 days from Christmas and my presents aren't going to be here! "

"Lowest of the low (slime). They use cheap pricing to get you interested and when you don't want their overpriced accessories they just ignore your order. You HAVE to call them even on an internet order (so they can talk you into buying more). My order sat for 4 weeks until I cancelled. And they did that in 2 minutes - gee, how surprising."

"I ordered a Coolpix 4500 at an attractive price a month ago. Order was immediately acknowledged but never sent. Each inquiry about shipment was prefaced with a hard sell on overpriced accessories and claims the order was about to be shipped. They now advertise the camera at a price $70 above my agreed-upon price and THEY cancelled my order without e-mail notification."
