"This was the worst shopping experience I ever had in my life. They charged my credit card fraudently (more than the invoice amount) and have not returned my money yet. On contacting customer service they say that the money will show up in my CC in the next two billing cycles. I wonder what will take them so long to return my money that they have took from me fraudently!! NEVER SHOP AT BO."

"I used a coupon that stated 10 dollars off which could also be used towards shipping. I bought an item that sold for 4.97, plus shipping charge of 5.99, minus the coupon of 10.00 for a total of .96 cents. I was sent an email comfirmation stating the total price of .96 cents to be charged to my credit card from them immediatley after i placed my order. After a few days my shipment came in, but on the invoice with the shipping it stated my cc will be billed 5.99 for shipping. I immediately called Bargain Outfitters, and spoke with a cust rep, and then a superviser. I was told the coupon was not "valid", and that my order should not have shipped out, but since they were getting a lot of orders, that a few slipped by and that was an error on their part. I then asked to get my credit back and be cahrged a total of 96 cents as i had agreed to, and they said they could not credit back the shipping because it cost them shipping, and that because i used an invalid coupon they could not do anything. I asked why not the cancel the order, or send me an email stating as such before sending the product out, atleast giving me the oppurtunity to reject the product as a result of the circumstances. It was not my fault that Bargain outfitters shipped the product out at a price i had not agreed upon, and without any type of notice IE an e-mail to state as such. The supervisor further stated that for me to get a refund on the item, i would have to send the item back and pay for shipping myself. I then told her, that for me to get a $5.03 credit, i would have to spend 3.00 to ship it to them( and thats wihtout insurance,i'm sure i'd have to pay another 1.00 for insurance), even though they admit they made an error in shipping it to me to began with. I was pretty upset at this time, and asked them if they would send me a prepaid envelope to ship the $4.97 item back, and the supervisor said "no". So its their fault that the coupon was not valid, they should have caught the problem and not ship the product out, if they could not honor the price that i had agreed to, as well as the e-mail confirmation they sent me stating the price i had agreed to, nor did they send me an e-mail-update stating the price/coupon problem and giving me the option to cancel the order, nor did they cancel the order on their part, but rather they shipped a product out at a price i didnt agree to, without giving me any notice, and they are refusing to credit me the price difference nor pay for me to ship the item back. HOW IS THAT FOR CUSTOMER service??? On a side note, the supervisor did say that she did not agree with this, but this is what her bosses had told her to do. Complete BS, stick to shopping with the other more credible merchants, ie amazon,officedepot.com, etc. I will be filing a dispute with my credit card. OH and finally get this, the supervisor told me that if my credit card comapny does give me a charge back, that means i would still owe them the $5.99(the price of shipping), and that they would send me to collections to collect on that amount. I was like, are you kidding me, are you already threatening me? and she states no, not a threat, but that was their policy. I hope they do send me to collections, i would Love to sue them for messing up my credit for something that an error on their part. "

"I also made a purchase with a promotional coupon code. My card was charged (for more than the amount stated in the confirmation email) and I received a confirmation email.

Two days later I saw the charge disappear from my account so I went to check on the order and it had been cancelled! No notification to me or anything. When I called customer service they stated it had been cancelled due to inappropriate use of the coupon code.

There were no usage conditions given with the code and it went through their system just fine. If they had made a mistake or decided to retroactively impose restrictions they should have informed me- at that point I may have just gone ahead with the order anyway, before I knew the extent of their lack of customer service.

I would not have known of the cancellation had I not checked the site. How very unprofessional!

Today I noticed the charge has reappeared on my card, again for more than the stated amount. This is ridiculous. At least it's not a large amount of money and the bank will recover it.

What a headache!

"Ordered with a coupon code. Seller sent notice that item had been shipped and gave me an arrival date. Never arrived. They charged my credit card immediately upon order. When I checked web site it showed that my order had been cancelled but I was never notified. They did later refund my payment. Terrible, incompetent web vendor - will NEVER buy from them again."

"I also made a purchase using a coupon code and received an email saying item was in stock and to expect delivery in 3-7 business days. I didn't think anymore about it until I saw a posting regarding someone else's experience with this store. I checked the status of my order and saw it had been cancelled then I checked my credit card and found that it had been charged the day after my order was placed and was charged for more than my confirmation email had said the total was. I never received a cancellation email from BO or a response to my email requesting a refund applied to my credit card. I would not recommend this company to anybody, what a headache.

Update: a refund has now been applied to my credit card but I still have not received any emails or notification of why my order was cancelled, very unprofessional!

"I ordered an item with bargainoutfitters.com using a coupon code. The order went through and I was supposed to be charged $0.96. A few days later, I checked my credit card, and I saw that I was charged $5.99. And worst yet, my order was canceled. So far, I've been charged more than I authorized for and the item I purchase won't ship because it was canceled. I'll give it a few more days to see if they credit my credit card. If they don't, I'll have to dispute it with my CC company. This is very unprofessional of BO to allow an order to go through, then illegally charge more than what was authorized, and finally to cancel the order without any notification or immediate refund."

"Very unimpressed. I ordered some gloves that were on sale, and got my order confirmation email. According to their website the order has been canceled (they did not notify me), and looking at my credit card statement online they charged me $5 more than the total amount I authorized. Also, I was automatically signed up for their daily junk mail list. I'm trying to get my money back.

UPDATE: It has been more than ten days and I still have not received a refund... I wonder if this is a fraud operation? :(
