" In March of 2018 we purchased a pet door for our Pella sliding door. We were told verbally and on their advertising that this would fit our door. It did not fit. The lock recesses and the weather seal didn't line up. There was only a 13 inch opening for outside access. We paid $407.99 for this door and it was sent with free shipping. After contacting the seller that the door wouldn't work we were given a return number and told to return the door at our expense. $56.12. Two months later we had not received a credit for the return so ew filed a complaint with the credit card company. Americas Pet Store finally credited our account for $325.50. It appears that they are charging us for a restocking fee, and an original shipping fee in addition to our return expense. This has cost us to try a door that they said would work. We have proof that their advertisement said that it would fit most Pella doors and when we asked them verbally over the phone they told us it would fit.
The credit card company is disputing the difference between $407.99 and the credit of $325.50. $82.49. and with the return shipping charge of 56.12 it equals a charge of $138.61
BEWARE!!!! DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY CAN COST YOU OUT OF POCKET IF IT DOES NOT MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS

"I placed an order with America's Pet Store .com that included a large sliding door pet door and an extra replacement flap. I intended to use the extra flap on my screen patio for a custom install. I did not really care if the flap was for the sliding door or a hard door, I just needed an extra flap. Stan contacted me immediately before finalizing the order. He wanted to check to make sure the hard door flap I ordered was not to replace the sliding glass door flap I ordered.
This is the type of communication any consumer expects but rarely experiences in a purchasing experience. This extra step was not necessary but greatly appreciated, Thanks again Stan!
When Stan took this extra time to contact me, I made an additional request for an item not listed on the America's Pet Store site. He took a few moments to look up my request and was able to order the part and include it in my order. He spoke with his manager on this small part and they accomodated me well beyond what I expected.
America's Pet Store was also the best price on this pet door I could find after days of research. With a check of local coupon code sites...their price absolutely could not be beat. This pet site will be my first stop on any future shopping needs. Thank You Stan and Manager. "
"I got a pet door to put on my patio door for my dogs to come in and out. It was great, but it left a big gap between the 2 doors. It gets really hot in Texas and the draft was keeping my a/c on. I ordered the Patio Draft Stopper from Americas Pet Store. I couldnt be happier! It was free shipping and came the next day. It was super easy to install. I just cut it to the right size and peeled off the back and stuck it on. I am very impressed!"

"America's Pet Store rocks! Suoer fast shipping, arrived well-packaged and in perfect shape. Excellent customer service too. Had a problem with my card (my fault), so I had to call twice. Who answers a customer-service line on the FIRST RING on two separate days? They do! Very friendly, professional and helpful. Nice change from the usual long hold and grumpy "nothing we can do, ma'am" that you get from most companies these days. Definitely going to be a return customer!

"I used this site for the first time after I got a solicitation e-mail. I order replacement flaps (2) for a dog door about once a year. Without fail, I can get these for $48 for a set almost ANYWHERE on the internet. Except at AMS. Now, it was my fault, absolutely, for not catching that the $48 price tag was for one flap, but really? TWICE the cost of almost anyone else? I feel that this is done deliberately in the hopes that the customer will cut their losses. They can almost guarantee this by charging a 15% restock fee. Most likely, that's what I'll have to do (keep the horribly overpriced flap I stupidly bought and buy another one from a more reputable site with reasonable prices). Will NEVER, EVER buy from AMS again. Ever."
"I just ordered another pair of replacement pet door flaps which reminded me of the last time I made this same purchase from America's Pet Store, 3 years ago.
I was initially pretty unhappy with that order because they sent me the wrong sized flaps, not the ones I'd ordered, but they quickly made things right by shipping out the correct flaps and didn't ask me to hassle with returning the incorrect flaps.
Yes, it would have been better if I'd simply received the correct flaps the first time, but the kind of treatment I get when things do not go as planned means a lot to me. Mistakes happen, but a merchant I can trust to do right by me in the end is worth dealing with."

"I had seen a electronic patio door on multiple sites however a friend said she had an excellent experience with this company. Problem was they were higher in price than other sites. I emailed them for a price match. They responded the same day and provided a code to enter on the order for my discount. I placed the order and entered the code. The following day I received a phone call from customer service saying the code had not appeared on the order. They immediately issued a credit to me. I couldn't believe that they followed up on my order. EXCELLENT. Still haven't gotten the door (just shipped) but I am very comfortble with this company's service."
