Smooth and Pleasant Transaction

"I was looking for a sound system as a present for my son who’s a videographer.

Instead of searching for this on Amazon, I chose Crutchfield because this is an area in which they specialize. I have also purchased audio equipment in the past with them, and have been quite pleased with every purchase.

This purchase was no different than at other times; smooth and pleasant.

Only place I go!

"Shipping, returns, prices, service,,,, all 100%! I've been using them for over 10 years, never had an issue! They've discounted items that I was honestly shocked they did- and returns always were just a click and done- I don't even compare prices online anymore, I just go straight to Sonic.. "

In my case, not so much

"I think Crutchfield is a good company in many ways, but in my case, I feel let down. Luckily, I was getting an alarm put in by a pro stereo installer while on the phone with Crutcthfield. He saw my issue while I was trying to figure things out and knew what to do.

The Boss stereo recommended by your associate, and recommendation engines, came with with the the ready harness I ordered wired incorrectly. It was a slight issue, and tech support guided to a proper splice and reattachment.

Once hooked up properly though, it was obvious the head unit's sound was WAY too low: barely audible at highway speeds. It's the recommended stereo that's at issue. It has low voltage, and is way under powered to produce sound needed through the RCAs provided. I couldn't believe the power drop was so great! The stereo guy knew to cut the connectors you provided and wire it directly, producing sound with about 70% more volume. Now, Crutchfield wasn't going to tell me to do this. Too messy, too complicated. Maybe I need to buy more stuff?

You all should have recommended a stereo with greater power, even if more expensive. It could overcome the impedance of those connectors, and saved us all time and money. I almost had an expensive brick thanks to you...
