"Sent in a brand new, never used book. They claimed it had significant water damage and want me to pay for its return. They are shady, stay away. Sell back to Amazon."

"I ordered a two volume set books from this website but I received only volume one. The title was the "complete works", without specifying the volume. So I assumed there should be two volumes. I checked the ISBN and it was the same as the two volume set's ISBN. Also they didn't mention anywhere (in their description or the title) that it is only volume one.
I should also mention that the price for this volume one was higher than a new one (same publication, same edition, etc.).
Strange thing is that I don't have access to that page anymore!

They have a return policy that you can return the book within 30 days of purchase, and I received the book 21 days after purchase, so I had only 9 days to return it. So I had to pay more for shipping.

It's been more than a week that they have received the book back and I haven't got any confirmation or refunds. They don't even reply my email (both seller and textbooks.com).

Also there is no way for customers to rate the sellers."

"This company needs to CLARIFY their BuyBack policy, because I sent in a book that was in perfect condition, I hadn't scribbled in it, or torn any of the bonus study guides out of the back. However, customer service emailed me back and told me that the book was "Damaged" because the Access code was used. Well, no duh, that is what it is there for- to be used by a student for studying purposes!!! I barely used it myself, I think I just looked it up to see what I was offered with it, but I never fully used it. It just annoys me that I am not allowed to gain any money back because of a used access code.
Also, why did they send me emails reminding about this "cool" experience, when the original book that I bought from their website isn't even allowed back?!? It is beyond me.

Do they only take non-access code related textbooks then for this promotion??? It doesn't say this anywhere for the promotion or in their emails. I even tried looking for this information on their website's return policies- NOTHING. Can I at least get credit for the rest of the book's condition, probably not. After having read the other reviews on here- sounds like a bunch of snowflakes are running this company.

(I was able to send another book that I did not purchase from Textbooks.com, and the condition they gave me for that one was "good"- so I hope to receive the 5 bucks everyone on here has been saying comes, instead of the "guaranteed" price offered)... Just peeved to say the least.

UPDATE: I was able to get the Criminal Justice book w/access code, for genuine BuyBack price. The customer service was quick to respond, and helped me right away. I was a little mad at first, but I am grateful that everything got sorted out. Now they will send me the guaranteed buy back amount. Just talk to these guys and explain what happened, they will sort it out for you. "

"This is a scam. They claimed the book I shipped them had water damage. The book was in new condition...barely ever used. It appears they use this same reason for many other people as well. DO NOT SELL YOUR BOOK TO THEM. They emailed me back that if I wanted my book back, I would need to pay a fee of $8.95. That's basically the price they were going to pay me for this little book.... I guarantee they tell everyone the book has water damage, and then they keep all the books and still sell them and make a profit from them. DO NOT USE THIS SITE. When I received it in the mail about a week later, the printed receipt that came attached to it said that the price was $21.99. I wish I would have known how slow they are at shipping things because I needed this textbook right away and was told I had two day shipping which would work out fine for me. "I returned my math loose leaf with an unused access card, no writing on pages, and they're refusing my Buyback saying it was damaged for missing a cardstock back cover. The first rep. was going to send details and a photo. Never did, now they're saying my book was the only one available so they can't send me details. I unwrapped their book and stuck it in a binder as is, used my dividers and sent to them to help someone else. So they want to trash a $166 book for one back cover that is not important for a student, but I'm upset because they did not follow through with the details. I believe the cardstock was used as a divider and they threw it out. So 667 pages of a neat and clean book is getting put in the trash. I will never use them again. I just bought $396 in books from another company. So for 3 years, another company will get my money and buy backs. They are not even trying to send pictures as stated or helping out by offering a discounted price for 1 back page missing. Poor customer service and they want money to return the book back to you. So, shop around with other companies that are supportive to students. I mean buy back $30, take $2.00 off for a missing nonimportant cardstock or anything. They just do not want to give refunds as promised. "

"I ordered a textbook for school on 12-21-16 in the am. I was outside today (12-23-16) plugging in Christmas lights when the UPS truck pulled into my driveway. I was unbelievably impressed with the speed at which my book arrived. The book was a used book; however, it looked brand new. I usually don't take the time to write a review, but this time is an exception. Great work! I will be ordering from textbooks.com again in the very near future.

"I would highly recommend NOT to use any services of textbooks.com. I bought a brand-new book and just used it rarely during 3 months. When I decided to sell it back to textbooks.com, I was quite sure that the book looked like new and the code was not scratched. Later I received an email from textbooks.com saying that the book was not eligible because of lack of online code. I believed that that the code was intact, and I did not want to lose the book so I had to pay for return shipping. If the code had been scratched, I would have contacted the publishers website of the book to report this. When I got the book returned, the code was still intact, so the reason for the book being returned is not correct. I will NEVER USE ANY SERVICES OF TEXTBOOKS.COM, and RECOMMEND ALL OF MY FRIENDS NOT TO BUY/SELL HERE!"
