"I Purchased a Dell Optiplex 745 for a relative from Recoupit in early December. Upon receiving it I discovered the OS installation was corrupt and the optical drive was non-functional so the restore CD was useless and the Windows XP serial number was unreadable due to heavy scratching on the case. I called recoupit (don't bother they don't answer their phone and you have to wait several hours or in one case days to receive a return call) and two days later they contacted me. They offered an RMA and replacement which I accepted. When I received the replacement unit everything appeared to work fine until I went to install software on the system. At this point I discovered that this system also had a faulty optical drive. Finally last week (over a month after receiving the original order) I received an optical drive replacement which finally solved the problem.

Now in the meantime I made another purchase from them on DEC 21. This time it was an HP Compaq NC6400 Laptop. Once more the first unit they sent was defective. The keyboard on the Laptop did not function. I contacted Recoupit and they offered to send me a replacement keyboard. I informed them I was done repairing their hardware and that they needed to replace the entire unit with one that was 100% operational. They agreed and shipped a second laptop. At first this one seem to be working just fine. That is until I attempted to use it on battery power. As soon as I disconnected the AC power adapter the system shutdown cold. Upon further investigation I discovered that the battery was not recognized in BIOS or in windows.

Once more i was back on the phone and left yet another voice mail. That was on Monday Jan 17. It was not until Friday Jan 21, when I called back and left a message threatening a charge back on my VISA that they finally returned my call. They agrees to ship a replacement battery. I received the battery om Monday Jan 24 (yesterday). I have had the system connected to the AC power adapter for over 24 hours and the battery will not charge above the 75% level that it was at when I placed in the Laptop.

I left a message over 5 hours ago and still have not heard back from them. I would strongly advise anyone to consider another company before recommending Recoupit. I have spent over $500 (including extended warranty costs) and still don't have both of my orders in complete working condition over a month after making my second and last purchase from Recoupit."
