The identity check was that I was to fill out their special form, and send them a photocopy of my drivers license and credit card. "On July 29 I came across PowerMax, who had the lowest price I have found for a Gitzo GT3541LS tripod.
Additionally there was free shipping offered too.
I called PowerMax and spoke with a Ms Michelle Ryther about buying this tripod. She checked inventory and found that the tripod was on back order from the distributor for 2 to 3 weeks.
Michelle asked me if I wanted to place the order and wait for it to ship.
I said yes because of the low price.
As time went by Michelle kept me up to date on the progress of the order.
I began to realize that price was becoming secondary and customer service was beginning to enter the picture.
So far my credit card had not been charged just as Michelle had told me it would not be until the tripod shipped.

Well, today I get an email from Michelle telling me the tripod was on it's way to Texas! That is 3 weeks and a couple of days since my first phone call to PowerMax. I have to say they hit the shipping date square on target.
