"Avoid them. I ordered some memory from them. They never answered my emails asking how long it would take to process my order. I finally cancelled the order. They billed my charge card immediately, never sent me anything, and never credited my charge account for the cancelled order. Phones are now disconnected, hopefully they went out of business. "

"One word: AWFUL. Too bad I found ratings on them AFTER I placed the order. I ordered 1G Samsung DDR 400 RAM, CDRW, DVD-ROM and MSI Ti4600 video card for my new PC on October 30. The other pieces were ordered from another vendor. They came first, nothing from nMicroPC. I called them and they told me that video card is not in stock because of the strike on the west coast and
suggested options of waiting or getting refund for the video. I decided to get a refund for the video and they told me the rest would be shipped right away. Sounds reasonable, but from there everything went wrong. I never got
tracking numbers from them and had to call every day since November 6.
Video card credit never showed up either. I kept calling. Finally, last Friday (November 8) they gave me a tracking number. It was empty.
On monday they gave me another tracking number - did not work also. I lost my patience and called credit card to stop payment.
Next morning the second tracking number showed my package being sent on Monday, not prevous Friday!
Today morning it came: memory sticks were USED and without ANY PACKAGING, they were simply wrapped with a bubble wrap! DVD-ROM was missing. So I paid more than $700 to get a $70 CDRW. Cool.
I called my credit card again and confirmed that I am not going to pay for this. They suggested sending everything back. So I did.
Now I checked my order status and it shows a second package tracking number, shipped yesterday AFTER I told them that I am canceling my order!!! Probably my DVD-ROM.
Too late. I am not going to accept it. I will never use this company again. STAY OUT OF THESE GUYS.

"I placed an order for an AMD Athlon XP 2100+ processor and a 512MB Samsung PC3200 DDR memory module. After two days with no word on my order, I sent an email inquiring about the status. The next day I received a phone call in barely understandable Enlish saying that they did not have my credit card information, which is why my order was never processed. Also, they asked me to give them a call back, and gave a long distance phone number in some area code I'm not familiar with. I know that my credit information was entered properly, and their system gave no indication of any processing error. I promptly cancelled the order and went elsewhere."

"I ordered (1) Samsung 512MB DDR400 stick of RAM and an (1) Intel Pentium 4 2.53GHz 533MHz FSB 512k on 10/28/02. I waited until 11/05/02 to call nMicroPc.com, assuming that they had already shipped my order. When I called I got an intelligible person who knew enough English explain to me that the price of the memory I ordered had gone up (presummably before I placed the order). He offered crediting the cost of the memory back to my account. Instead I merely wanted some memory so I offered to substitute the RAM with DDR333, which happened to be the same price at the time (I verified it myself first). The representative then said that he would substitute the memory and ship it right away. So now I just have to wait and see what happens. I find that they were perfectly reasonable in what they did. It would have been nice if they had brought the problem to my attention, or if they weren't misleading in their price to begin with. They just need to change a few things about the way they do business and handle orders, then they will be much better off. It's one thing to be competative and standing by your prices and quite another to cut your own throat. The key is making sure that the technology you use doesn't let you cut your throat while still remaining competative and allowing you to stand by your price. I hope that this review was helpful to customers and nMicroPc.com alike.

I received the memory and cpu the very next day, so danbarr... it's your loss not theirs

"!!!BEWARE!!! This company is bad news. Ordered an item which was "lost" by FedEX. (Apparently this is not a unique occurence with nMicroPc). Both FedEX and I tried to contact the company in September 2002 but there was no answer. Weeks later, I got through and the response was, "Sorry, we were in the process of moving...Read your contract, shipping loss is not our problem." I am in the process of following up with appropriate authorities but let my lesson be a forewarning to anyone thinking about using this company.

REPLY: Yes, the package showed up on 4 October (ordered on 17 September). After FedEX admitted to losing it (23 September), they informed me that no one at nMicroPC would return their calls either. I then purchased the item from an alternative source (newegg - delivered in 1 day). Then the nMicroPC purchase finally arrived in October, and no one at nMicropPC would respond, FedEX finally told me that you had claimed the shipping refund they offered, but you apparently will not accept return of the unopened box. FedEX told me they are considering removing nMicproPC from their approved list as they do not appreciate vendors who act this way. I will admit the initial failure was with FedEX. The subsequent lack of customer concern lies solely with nMicroPC. Caveat Emptor.

"!!WARNING!! !!WARNING!! !!WARNING!!

"Order at your own risk" is the name of the game at nMicroPC.com. But you don't have to take my word for it; just read the full page of small-print disclaimers that pops up when you submit your order, and understand that they mean EVERY word of it. I am still waiting to receive $377.75 in server parts I ordered for my company back in July, which nMicroPC claims were "lost" by FedEx. Funny, that same thing seems to have happened to a number of other consumers submitting comments to this site. nMicroPC tells me that if I had wanted my shipment to be "insured", I was supposed to have contacted them seperately by phone. The only problem with this is that they rarely answer the phone. Does this sound like a reputable company to you? I am not buying their "oh, we are really sorry, but we have moved recently" line. This nonsense has been going on for three months now, and they often do not answer the "new" phone numbers listed on their web site, either. I do not want an apology, I want a refund. To that end I have submitted complaints to both the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General of California.

Smart consumers should pay close attention to the comments posted on this site. Notice that after every really bad review is a plausibly positive one written in really bad English. Now this may be just a coincidence, but I think that ResellerRatings.com needs to find a better mechanism to prevent companies from stuffing their own ballot boxes. Notice also the company reply to the comment dated 10/7/02. Are there any lawyers out there willing to decipher this? Fishy, fishy, fishy.

In the last 8 years I have never had problems like this with any other computer parts company. I may never get my money back from nMicroPC.com, but hopefully this warning will save many others from making the same mistake.

forgot my password, found no way to correct that until their staffs called me to have my profile updated. Products received today, nicely packed in a mid-size brown box. I am happy enough because of the on-time arrival of my PC parts.

"Ordered a TI-89 but they were having problems processing my CC due to the billing address. So I told them to cancel the order and I'd resubmit the order with another CC. Well, the order was cancelled, but they still charged my credit card. I tried calling them for 2 weeks and sent an e-mail with no luck. So I finally had to just go to my bank and file a claim against them. I don't know if my bank ever got in touch with them or not though."

"I ordered a motherboard and now 3 business days later I still have not received a tracking number or any information regarding the shipping status of my order. I have tried calling them repeatedly and keep getting the same message of a "mailbox being full", so not only can I not speak with someone I can't even leave a message. I've also sent them an e-mail and have yet to receive a response. My overall experience with them has been overwhelmingly negative. I am trying to put together a computer and all the other places that I have ordered from (newegg.com, Comp-u-plus, Cruxworks) have already delivered my merchandise. I highly recommend staying away from this company. They did not even post a notice about potential difficulties they might currently be experiencing. Only purchase with them if you like being kept in the dark about your purchase."

"While this company does offer some great prices, it does come at a cost. I was informed by their customer service dept. that my order would indeed ship on a Wednesday. My credit card was quickly charged on a Tuesday and I got an email stating that my order was being shipped via FedEx.

On Wednesday evening I checked the tracking information and nothing was in FedEx's system yet. I checked it again on Thursday morning with the same result. I called FedEx. I was told by FedEx that while the order had been paid for, but they had not yet picked it up from the nMicroPC. I called nMicroPC and spoke with someone with broken English and was told that my order had already shipped, and that I should call FedEx again.

On Thursday night I called FedEx and started a tracer on the package. Friday morning the FedEx tracking info showed that that package had been located and was now being shipped. More than three days after I had been promised that it would ship.

So whose are fault here? FedEx.....Did they loose the package? nMicroPC....did they fail to ship the package on time? I guess I will never know.

The bottom line is that if you want your order on time dont use this company. If you dont care when you get your order and want to save a few bucks then go for it. But be forewarned that I am not the only customer this has happened to with this company and I am sure that I wont be the last. They need to get some better organization skills when it comes to shipping.

"!!!!WARNING!!!!

As of 10:00 am PST on 17 Sept 2002, nmicropc.com's primary web server for handling online transactions is down. They are running on a backup server which DOES NOT HAVE SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) PROTECTION!!! Any orders made at this time will have your information (to include credit card number and personal information) sent across the Internet WITHOUT ENCRYPTION!
To protect yourself, I highly suggest that you use their phone ordering procedures until they resolve this problem.

When ordering online, always look for the little "closed lock" symbol on the bottom of your browser window to make sure that SSL has been enabled on your end. As of the time of this post nmicropc.com does not have this symbol when going through any part of the ordering process. Wait until they do before ordering online from them.

I am highly disturbed that this company would let this happen without giving fair warning to its customers.
(telephone customer service made it pretty clear that they resort to their non-SSL backup server during any maintenance on their primary server...this must happen pretty regularly)
What other customer-protection security/privacy steps are they missing or skipping?

I would like to add that their customer service and technical staff were very helpful and other than the security issue, my experience with nmicropc.com was fine.
