If I could I would give this company a zero rating

"I ordered a rug from this company. It was delivered. However they began charging me $14.95 a month as a member of their VIP program. I did NOT knowingly enter into this agreement. Who would pay $14.95 a month for a modest discount and free shipping? It's insane. When I contacted them they refused to issue a refund. They said they would cancel. I will NEVER deal with them again. They have lost my business forever. They are scammers."

Agent told me I would be able to use coupon when, in fact, you cannot use a coupon

"I called your rep because I wanted to place an order and use a coupon code. I told the agent that I had been on line and there is no place to put in the coupon code. She informed me that I would be able to use a coupon after I put in my credit card information. I placed the order, and nothing came up on line to let me put in the coupon code. I asked her if she would place the order for me and use the 25% off plus free shipping coupon code, but she informed me that she could only place an order and get any money back if I agreed to purchase their VIP membership and pay $14+ per month. I told her I did not make that many purchases and therefore could not make use of this offer. THERE IS NO PLACE TO ENTER A COUPON CODE AND I BELIEVE THAT THE AGENT KNEW THIS WHEN I SPOKE TO HER. I BELIEVE I WAS GIVEN UNTRUE INFORMATION JUST SO THEY WOULD GET MY ORDER.
I will not make any further purchases from In The Company Of Dogs because of the untrue information I was given.

I would have given a negative star if I could.

"Hours spent trying to get the promised rebate back for shipping and 20% for the over $200.00 items purchased last Christmas for my grand puppies. I never did get the money. This is the worst shopping experience I have ever had. Several phone calls, all promising they would take care of the problem. They never did. I will never buy a single thing from this company ever!!!!"

What joke of a company!

"Honestly - I would give 0 or even -2 stars if I could! About the worst customer service one could imagine! Where do I start? I am in Canada. In may (2019) I found this company website when looking for leashes and other dog related stuff.

I found some stuff I wanted - a couple flexi-leashes and a floor mat. So I ordered them. After almost three weeks I heard nothing from the company and contacted them. I got an email back saying my credit card was declined because of a problem with the shipping address. Well that happens, so I called them on the number the CUSTOMER SERVICE department gave me in their email. Turns out this number was incorrect and instead of getting customer service for the company, I was connected to a company trying to sell me a health monitor....

Eventually I located the ACTUAL customer service number. When I called them, I was told by the "customer service" person that "since you are in Canada we don't know whether your shipping and billing addresses are correct". Hmm - odd why would that be? If I specified a billing address and a shipping address, why was there any confusion? The agent had no cogent response to this question.

So we verify things and indeed they had all the correct information - billing and shipping address was good, credit card expiry and security numbers were correct - so why the issue? No explanation. Just I guess you know, Canada.

The agent then asks me for the "1-800" customer service number on the back of my credit card! In many many years of online or phone ordering using a credit card (AMEX in this case) for things literally from ALL OVER THE WORLD, I have never once been asked to provide this information, particularly when this has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the validity of my credit card. I told the agent this and refused to provide this number. I mean I may as well have been asked to give them my shoe size or the make and model of my car!

After a few days I get a charge on my credit card that is for much much less than I expected. This is followed by an email telling me that my "order" would be arriving in THREE WEEKS. From MA to Ontario Canada? I could ride my bike there and back faster.

Sadly the story does not end there. The reason the credit charge was less than expected was that the floor mat that I ordered apparently can't be shipped to Canada. Apparently there is no possible way that a floor mat can be shipped to Canada.

So all in all a very disorganized, poorly run, incapable company. I would not recommend anyone consider ordering from this company - certainly not if you live in Canada!

Give Me the T-Shirt Off My Back

"Ordered a t-shirt for my wife's birthday and received supposedly "it" two days before it. When I opened the package to wrap the gift, I discovered that it was a Doggie **** Bag Holder. Called them up and was informed that it would take 7-10 days before I got the correct gift. Unacceptable. They informed me that they would put a rush on it and get it to me via express shipment. Neither happened and it was 4 days later it arrived via mail. I then discovered that the shirt ran too large as it was a unisex size and I wanted to return it. It looked pretty simple, I packed it up used the label they provided and put it out in the mailbox from whence it came. Mailman said he couldn't do anything with it. My wife called CS of this company and they said send it UPS. Wife went all the way to UPS distribution center only to find out that it wasn't made (the label) for UPS either and that it would cost $10 plus to ship it back. Again, unacceptable. Reached out to CS once again, only to be informed that I would have to pay to return the t-shirt, but they would pay for the return of the correct size item. FORGET IT! They have the worst customer service of any company. Save your money and shop elsewhere."

Not the best experience , not the worst either

"Placed order on a Saturday. Immediately received email confirming my order with a message that I would have an update in 24 hours. I did not expect an update on Sunday, however Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday came and went with no update. I called customer service since the online order tracker had no information. Was pushed through two levels of customer service. Level one could not give me an information (strange I thought). Was told that it was drop shipping from the vendor and it may take 3-4 weeks for delivery. I told the customer service agent that was too long and that I wanted to cancel my order. She said I could not cancel my only option was to receive the order and then return it, at my cost. My feedback to her was that the returns policy was terrible and that estimated shipping dates should have been clearly stated on line. She deferred my comment and asked if there was anything else she could help me with. 10 days after placing my order ,the package did arrive. There was no ship notification , it was dropped on my front porch. Glad I opened the front door , otherwise I would not have know there was a package there. My order total was $175.00. Product , a rug, is fine, not fabulous. I will not purchase from this web store again. Delivery time & return policy do not meet expectation. "

"VIP Program" fraud taking money without permission

"Beware when you order from them they secretly sign you up for their "VIP Program" while ordering an item and to be more sneaky they but it in your card over 30 days later in hopes you wont notice it!!! I had to call and raise hell to get the fraudulent charge remove and took two different calls to get it done!!! I will never buy anything from them again due to this fraud!!! THEY ALSO DONT HAVE REVIEWS ON FB for good reason...I cant be the only one that ot happy with this fraud of taking 14.95 over 30 days later on my card!"

Painful telephone ordering experience

"Having tried to order my items online and experiencing problems with their defective website, I compounded my misery by telephoning the company to try and place my order. The sales agent spoke such weird, stilted English that at times I thought he might be a sort of Scandinavian robot. He managed to take my order after bombarding me with questions about my name, address, credit card etc and he wasn't able to understand me easily as his grasp of the language was so poor. We finally managed to complete the order when he then tried to HARD SELL me all sorts of items and promotions that I did not want. What a thoroughly unpleasant experience all around. I will do everything in my power to avoid using this company in future as it was just a pain from start to finish. Dreadful. "

They Have No Customer Service!

"The dog bed I bought appears defective. There is not enough room for my dog to get into it. It arrived almost one month late, after Christmas. When I spoke to customer service, I got no satisfaction. I was told that is I sent it back and they thought it was defective, they would reimburse me for the shipping costs and the cost of the bed. I am not paying $85 to return the bed and hope they think it's defective. When I asked for a RMA, he put me on hold for several minutes. When he came back on the line, he apologized for the inconvenience and said there wasn't one for this catalog. Surprise! The catalog looks classy but the customer service is anything but. I'll never order from them again!"

Backordered items, terrible service

"I wish I had seen these posts before placing my order. 2 items on backorder, never notified when placing the order. I asked if there was an ETA and here was the response they emailed me 2 days later...
As noted when you placed your order online, both items would have shown as backordered with a date as to when our next shipments are due to come in. Both items were due to arrive from the vendor last week but we have yet to receive them.
No apology for the inconvenience...just an accusation that it notified me during my order. NO it did not, or I would have not ordered them knowing I needed them for Christmas. Looks like 1 year later this company still cannot get their act together!!

Horrible experience!

"I placed an order over a month ago (on 11/13/20) and I only received one of the many items I ordered. All of the items ordered, including a personalized stocking, were Christmas gifts. A customer service representative said that there was no tracking info for the rest of my order that I already paid for and she could NOT guarantee those items would be instock now and delivered by Christmas! I asked for a refund!!! I have waited several weeks for the rest of my order and I am very disappointed that this company took my money but had no intentions of shipping the items to me!!! I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN! I wish I could’ve given them zero stars!!! "

Slow and horrible customer service

"I placed 3 separate orders to be mailed three different cities first week of December. I get an email a week later that orders are being shipped out and will not be delivered for another week. This is unacceptable when the gifts will not be delivered in time for Christmas and I ordered first week of December. "

Actually should be 0 stars

"They charged me $10.99 for a 3 week shipping method. I believe that they are taking advantage of shipping charges by charging premium rates for a deal that they have with fed x to put it in thier system when they can. I could walk this package to my house faster than this. Will never get ripped off by the company of dogs again!"
