"I purchased a Canon 60D package...it shipped and arrived quickly! Love the camera, they called to verify the order before shipping (really just an excuse to sell warranty) but they did offer a very affordable long term warranty that i purchased, it extended warranty to total of six years including a free cleaning every year. Two of those more than pays for the warranty. I def. recommend Electricsam"

"I feel like I was cheated by this company. Before I ordered a camera, Cannon SD 400, I called the Electric Sam salesman and asked if this product was in stock. He told me if it was listed online as available it was in stock.

Seeing that the camera was available I ordered on July 1st. They sent me confirmation right away. I waited for a tracking number for awhile but never got it. I left numerous emails but got no response.

Finally, July 14 I called the service department and a lady named Jessica said that the reason I hadn't received a tracking number was because they didn't have the camera in stock.

Being a little upset, I told her to cancel my order. Without any apology she said "no problem."

About 2 weeks later, after I bought my camera from another company online, I got an email from Electric Sam saying they had shipped my camera.

I called service to explain my situation and was told there was nothing they could do, the product was shipped already. I asked for the manager and his answer was that I would have to accept the camera or send it back and pay a 20% restocking fee.

I again gave him the name of the person I canceled the order with along with the date, but he said that's not possible because I didn't have a cancelation number. I asked if it was possible she forgot to cancel my order and he said no, not possible.
That's the type of management they have at Electric Sam.

"My first order was not processed because ElectronicSam no longer takes AMEX, contrary to what the site says.
After finally managing to speak to someone, it took longer to ship the camera that I ordered than I was first informed. I was promised that the camera would be shipped on a Friday by 2 day shopping; instead, it was shipped on Monday the next week by 3 to 5 day shipping.

"I ordered a Panasonic DMC-FZ5 camera from them on the 7th of July. They sent me an email saying I had to call them to verify my address and billing information, so I called them the next day on lunch (They're only open 8-4 Central Time M-F). My order was shiped that same day, and arrived On Monday the 11th. I had to pick it up from the local FedEx center, since they won't leave it on the porch (A good thing in my opinion).
Overall I'm very pleased with the transaction.

One thing to note: When I called to verfiy they put me on hold but didn't have any hold music, you just have to wait through the silence.

"Purchased a refurbished Pentax Optio S4 from electricsam.com, and while their security policies border on overkill, the company's customer service is great. The first camera I received came without the battery that was supposed to be included. A relatively quick call (I was on hold for a couple minutes) to their Customer Service department, and a battery was overnighted to me.

Once I received and charged the battery, I discovered that the camera was defective. This time, I contacted electricsam.com utilizing their online form, explained the problem, and requested an RMA number. Received the RMA # and return instructions within 24 hours, shipped the defective camera back, and within 24 hours of receiving the old camera, they shipped its replacement, which works fine. I'm very happy with the purchase, and the level of service I received from electricsam.com

When deciding to order from electricsam.com, keep in mind their rather strict online ordering and shipping policies. Once you place your order online, you will be instructed to call electricsam.com to confirm your identity. Failure to do this will result in your order being cancelled. Electricsam.com will only ship to your billing address, and requires a signature on delivery (no exceptions). None of this is problem, except that they also will not authorize forwarding to an alternate address once a delivery attempt has been made. This means that if you're not available during the day at your billing address, you'll have to go to your local FedEx facility to pick up your order. In my case, it wasn't too far out of my way home from work, but I can see this being a big issue for someone.

"like many others i had to call in to verify my order which i did not mind.the second i finished verifying info a salesman started to try to sell me other things i did not want.to my great surprise after i said no very nicely he hung up the phone. i called back to customer service and waited on hold for 35-45 minutes and was told that my order was cancelled because i did not buy any accessories.i asked to talk to a manager and was switched to the owner alias joe.he began abusing me verbally on the phone and then cursed me and hung up the phone.after much research i found out the owner is s.a.m. inc located in new orleans. and his name is haim toorgeman they also have avery bad record with the better business bureau at the retail store they operate.buyer beware they are not who they say they are just a bunch of knuckleheads trying to rip people off. i have been buying on the internet for 8 years with out any problems .this is the worst company on the internet.i tried to order a sd500 canon which was marked in stock and ready to shipp nowhere on there site did it say i had to buy xtras"

"Worst online buying experience ever. The prices look good, but it is 14 days from the date of purchase and they have yet to even receive the camera yet, let alone ship it to me. I would not have a problem with a wait time if I was told they had to order the camera before I purchased it. However, the camera I ordered was listed in stock and the check out page indicated 24-48 hours before shipping. They further slowed the process by sending me an email that required me to call them to confirm information that was all correct. My suspicion is that this was just another chance to ask me "are there any other items or accessories that you may need?". I called 10 days after my order and the customer service person promised the order would ship the next day. The next day they finally emailed me and indicated a problem with the credit card number (the only thing that wasnt checked when I called in the first time to confirm my info). When I called and gave them the right info I was again told it would ship that day. Three days later I'm still waiting for notice of shipping (and my credit card has not been billed)."

"Based on my personal experiences with this vendor, I recommend this dealer to digital camera buyers. I bought a Nikon CoolPix 8800 for a very good price from this dealer ($569 after rebate). I received an email that I needed to call them to confirm the purchase, which I did. They didn't pressure me to buy add-ons and even though their computer network was down at the time, the salesman entered my information manually as soon as the network came back up. The camera was delivered on time, in perfect condition for the advertised price. My experience with the sales person was good. I also bought another item with them about a year before and had a similar good experience."

"I ordered at this store because the merchant had a good reveiw rating. I ordered the Canon SD500 and just like most of the negative write-ups with other stores, this store emailed me that there was a problem with the order so please call. I have already gone through this process with two other discount online stores and recognized the drill. I responded with an email to either fill the order or cancel it but I would not be calling. No surprises, the order was cancelled.
I guess you get what you pay for (or try to pay for).

"After carefully checking the ratings and comments on this web site (which I use religiously to check out vendors I am not familiar with), I found the negative comments to be mostly minor problems and decided to buy a camera from Electric Sam. I ordered a Canon SD200 online after calling and checking stock (and I know a lot of the hokey vendors lie about this), and I called their toll-free telephone number to confirm the order as directed in the email message you receive after placing an order. I was asked a simple question if I wanted any accessories, with no pressure whatsoever. They emailed me an order verification message with a tracking number. Their ordering procedures seem to be intended to prevent fraud, not to create hassles or to try to sell you overpriced accessories. The camera was delivered to my door less than 30 hours after I place the order - and I used the free shipping offer with FedEx super saver, not expedited service!!! I found this to be really amazing. The price was the lowest, within several dollars, I could find anywhere online, including shipping, etc. It was obvious the product was brand new and all of the packaging had never been opened or unpacked; everything was in perfect condition. My single experience with this company was outstanding and beyond all expectations (and this camera is awesome, considering its tiny size and ridiculously low price). FedEx also kicked butt, providing overnight delivery performance at super saver rates (which Electric Sam offered for free)."

"I was a little leery ordering from Electric Sam because their prices were so low. I have read horror stories about other stores with similar pricing. My experience with Electric Sam could not have been any better. I ordered an Olympus C-770 digital camera via their web site late Wednesday night. Immediately after submitting the order I received an email stating that the order was received and that I needed to call their 1-800 number to confirm the order on the following day. I called them Thursday morning. The person verified my mailing address and stated the order was confirmed. That was it! No high pressure sales tactics trying to get me to buy additional accessories or anything. About an hour after that call I received an email stating the order had been shipped and informing me of the tracking number. The camera was delivered on Monday morning and all was well. Thanks Electric Sam!"

"I placed order for the Nikon D70 with 18-70mm lens and got email to call to confirm order. I called and confirmed. There were no sales pitch. I got the order ontime but I paid for 2nd-day delivery since I wanted to get it for Christmas. The package came in perfect condition and I got my rebate form also. I had to call customer support because I couldn't find the world-wide warranty sheet for the body and she was very helpful. She called Nikon support and told me that they said I didn't need it for the rebate. Still waiting for the rebate so I'm not sure if that was the correct information. Overall I had a good experience and would shop there again."

"I bought a Nikon D70 and was somewhat nervous about purchasing from ElectricSam as their price was significantly lower than the more well known stores, however their reviews on this and other forums were OK. Other companies offering the same price had universally bad reviews. The order process was smooth, however I expected to get the hard sell for overpriced accessories when I called to "confirm my order". When I called, I had to repeat my credit card info as apparently that did not transfer properly, (never had that happen before), and was waiting for the sales pitch that never came. He just told me that the camera was in stock and would be shipped out that afternoon. I almost fell off my seat, and had to suppress my instinct to tell him he was supposed to sell my memory cards, a camera bag, filters, etc, etc... In any case the camera arrived 3 days later (using lowest cost shipping), and it was exactly as described. Factory sealed, with correct Nikon USA warranty and everything. I did have to contact customer service about another item, and waited about 4-5 minutes on hold, but the customer service rep was friendly and helpful, so I have no complaints about that. In all, I am very happy with my purchasing experience with ElectricSam and would use them again. "
