Do not bay from this company

"Placed an order on 03/16/2022 and never receive the order. Contacted them on May 11 2022 and was promised to ship at the end of May which is too late for the bulbs to be planted. This is a scam company."

Not recomended

"Order on 3/27/22 and not even shipped yet
5/3/22. They take way to long to get your items to you. I start my garden inside at least 2 months ahead. They take over a month before they get things shipped out. Even if you order early. And put on rush. You will not get your items for some time. Have bought from them fee times and it is crazy. Best sean so far was longfield gardens. You Can have your items in one week if ya talk to them. I have called dutch many many times and they just keep saying they will get it shipped prioroty soon as posible. And still weeks and weeks later the items have not even been shipped. You would think that someone that buys large quantities they would want to keep ya happy. NOT. THEY CARE LESS. THERE IS NO REASON FOR IT TO TAKE OVER MONTH

"For the last month my order has said in stock and ready to ship. I checked today and it's showing backordered. I contacted them and they said that it would ship 3-4 weeks later, well after the frost. Now it's too late to order from a real company."

Worst service ever!

"It takes forever for them to ship bulbs, if they do at all. Always out of stock even though when you order they say they have them and take your money. Then in 2 months or so they say they’re back ordered. Never return money. Over 50% of bulbs never come up. Have ordered at least 4 times. I’m done. Extremely poor customer service."

Never Again

"Ordered plants on April 14th. Finally called on May 7th. Was told May 11th was shipping date. Called on May 18th. Was told June sometime. Then received a credit for the one plant I really wanted. Never one email or update from them. 35 minutes on hold with no answer. (chat was better). Finally on May 19th cancelled rest of order. They wasted a whole month of my time with absolutely no communication about delivery delays or after 5 weeks product availablility. I will NEVER do business with this company again. If I could give a negative number I would. This is my first review of any company ever."

Great Amaryllis

"I purchased 50-60 amaryllis from dutchbulbs/KVB last summer.

Potted them up late--about Thanksgiving.

The first ones started blooming in late February and the last ones just finished up around April 15.

Spectacular!

No confidence!

"I ordered about 1000 bulbs from them as a birthday gift for my sister. I ordered them mid March, her birthday came and went, no order arrived. I kept checking the delivery date and they kept pushing it back, two days, three days. I finally requested a refund when they told me they would not be able to get them out until the first week in May. I have no confidence in them to make that deadline after watching them push the delivery date back for over a month. "

Never again!!!

"I ordered 1000 tulip bulbs this past fall. 300 were from Van Bourgendien. I ordered them all on Aug 29. I requested the earliest ship date possible as I was planting in a zone different from my mailing address and our water is shut off early. All 700 bulbs I ordered from 3 other companies were here by Sept. 19. I called Van Bourgendien numerous times. Each time my ship date was pushed back a few more days. Customer service has obviously been outsourced to a foreign country to a company who knows absolutely nothing about planting bulbs.....and doesn't appear to be in actual contact with Van Bourgondien as they couldn't tell me what the problem was. They all parroted the exact same memorized speech, promising results. I finally planted my other bulbs, marking where my Van Bourgondien bulbs would go with popsicle sticks. I had specifically asked customer service to check and make sure all of my bulbs were still in stock so there would be no surprises when they finally got here. I was assured that my order would arrive exactly as placed. When they finally got here 100 of the 300 were a substitute. .☹ My bulbs arrived Nov. 1. Thank goodness our snow also arrived late this year. Otherwise 30% of my carefully planned display would have been nonexistent. Still I had to plant 300 bulbs in bone dry clay soil. (essentially cement by this time). Not one bit of enjoyment in this!! My fall bulb catalogs have started to arrive for this coming year. And I'm starting to plan my display. VB used to be my favorite company but customer service has deteriorated drastically over the last 5 years. And after what happened this past fall Im done with them!! "

Abysmal. Will never do business with them again.

"I wish I had researched reviews on this company before I placed an order.

Placed a large order in September. After two months, still nothing had arrived. I contacted them and was told they would "rush" deliver it (after two months??). Ten days passed and nothing--the tracking number they gave me showed "label printed" status but not even a scan-in at their local FedEx hub. I contacted them again to see what was going on. I was told that they "tracked" my package and it was "lost in delivery" (ha! It never even made it to FedEx to be scanned in!) and unfortunately the items could not be replaced this late in the season. So they allegedly are refunding me, but if my money doesn't show up tomorrow, I'll just file a fraud complaint with my credit card company to get the money back.

My order wasn't "lost in delivery." They just never fulfilled the order after two months, sold out of the stock I'd ordered, and said the package was lost as a really terrible excuse for dropping the ball.

Now it's too late in the season to order from a more reliable company. Lesson learned, I guess: never do business with DutchBulbs.com. They are scammers and liars. Save money, time, and frustration: take your business elsewhere.

Order never shipped

"I placed a $230.00 order on 8/24/18. While nothing was listed as back-ordered, the confirmation said the order would ship 9/15/18, and there was a note on the website about shipping later due to the hotter than average year. There was never any further communication from dutchbulbs.com, however, I logged into my account every few days to check status. Every time I logged in, the ship date had been pushed back 3 more days. Finally, I had a note that my shipment had been batched and would be sent out on 10/15. When I logged in on 10/15, the ship date changed again. How could that be if it was already batched? Was someone else's order more important and they took items from mine? I did email customer service, and they apologized for the delay. But nothing else came of it.
Here we are October 29. I checked my order status and it was pushed to 11/1 (Friday it read 10/29). I'm fed up. We've already had snow in Michigan and I have exactly one day left where I would be available to plant all of these bulbs. I called customer service. I again got an apology. They offered to expedite my order but couldn't give me any guarantees. What good would that do? Is that how my order was shifted in the first place? Maybe someone who ordered $250 called to complain? Today is Monday. I told them whatever they cannot have sitting on my doorstep by Friday can just be cancelled. They said even if they shipped today, it could take up to 2 weeks for delivery.
Needless to say, I cancelled my order. I wasted my entire planting season for spring on this company. We have a new piece of property and I won't have spring bulbs blooming this coming year. I am extremely disappointed.
I was told it would take 3-5 days to show the credit on my credit card, because yes, they charged it as soon as I placed the order. They did not wait until the order shipped to charge me.

Endless excuses for delayed shipments. False promises. How are they in business!

"Ordered 2 months ago. After several communication attempts was finally told my shipment would be sent priority mail on Oct 16. Now I am being told 'soon' and they had more orders then they expected.

I would never order from them again and I encourage you to avoid them!

Terrible Experience and still have not gotten shipment or a refund

"I will never order from K Van Bourgondien again. I contacted customer service 4 times over 4 weeks and still have not gotten my bulbs for planting in my zone and I have not even gotten confirmation that my order can be canceled so I can order from someone else.

I ordered Sept 28 and the order confirmation said it would ship on October 1. I did not receive the order by mid-October so I contacted customer service and they said my order was delivered on October 16 but I never got a delivery and I was home that day so I followed up and they said they made a mistake and that my order would ship 5 days later and then take 7-10 business days for delivery. It's almost November and too late to plant bulbs in my zone.

I then called customer service to cancel my order and get a refund but the reps and 2 managers said they could only refund me once the order is shipped. To top it off, they could not even email me that I would get a refund so I have documentation of the conversation.

I have zero trust in this company and recommend not to order from them.

Delivered too late

"Ordered trumpet and tiger lily bulbs, expecting them to be delivered mid September (My zone is 5A). Mid Sep, no delivery, contacted the co. and was told they would be dispatched in October 'the correct time for my zone'. Arrived yesterday (Oct 13). Nice bulbs, but I can't plant them because the garden is covered in snow. They may survive but it is too late for them to establish themselves before the winter. Shan't be buying again"
