"AudioMidi is an interesting company. I ordered a Mackie Onyx 820i mixer / audio interface, and a set of M-Audio BX8 D2 speakers during one of their "Inventory liquidation" (or similar) sales. This was a one-day, 20% off of everything in the entire store sale.

Experience:
* Web page took so long to respond after submitting my order that I thought the web page timed out. I pressed "Submit" again, and wound up placing the same order twice.
* This must be a fairly common issue because the first order was listed as "Credit cleared", and the second was listed as "Under review". AudioMidi was good enough to cancel the duplicated order.
* The items were listed as "Usually ships in 3 to 5 business days" on their web site. I got an e-mail the next business day saying they'd ship the items as soon as they received them in stock. 20% off to clear out inventory that's not in inventory? Weird, but good that the discount still applied.
* The items finally shipped 8 business days later.
* The mixer was shipped to them by Mackie just in the mixer box itself, which got somewhat beat up in transit. AudioMidi put it in a bigger box before they shipped it to me (boo Mackie).
* The M-Audio double box didn't fare very well, a few small holes through both boxes, but no damage to the speakers.

Overall, this wasn't the best shopping experience I've had, but it is by far the best price available ANYWHERE for this equipment (saved me $180 over anywhere else). I bought my last set of BX8a Deluxe speakers from B&H for $275, but they sell the new version for $499 just like everybody else. Same for the Mackie.

Will I buy from AudioMidi.com again? Absolutely, but only if there's another BIG sale. Would I buy from them versus Sweetwater, B&H, Musician's Friend for non-sale items? No. I'd rather purchase from a vendor who keeps items in stock and has a better-designed web page.

"After my bank rejected my order through Amazon ( no fault of Amazon ) I contacted audioMIDI.com directly. Not only was I treated professionally, but the kind folks a audioMIDI,com honored the Amazon offer of free shipping. Both the lady and gentleman I dealt with were knowledgeable and able to complete my order quickly. I HIGHLY recommend this merchant to anyone who is interested in dealing with courteous and friendly people.

Order placed on 29-Dec-2010, order received 5-Jan-2010, not too shabby for the holiday season. My merchandise was packed in a double-walled cardboard box and bubble wrap. The shipping department really knows their stuff.

AudioMIDI.com really earned every one of their 5 stars AND a couple extra.

"Was a bit reluctant to order from them after so many bad reviews, but I got the gear I wanted (SM-Pro Audio M-Patch 2) in record time, well packed, no problem. No one else had it in stock for a good price so I am quite pleased. Ordered on a Saturday, got instant e-mail confirmation, was shipped Monday, got the e-mail with the tracking number by 2 pm. No idea about customer service -- there was no need to talk to them. "

"I buy pro audio gear online all the time and this was by far the worst experience I have ever encountered. It took near a month to receive my gear and my call and emails never yielded a response. Customer service does not exist there and I would highly recommend to avoid them. This is my first and last purchase from them. Buyer BEWARE, avoid the headache."

"This web store wins the award for the most horrible service of all time. They got nothing right, were slow at shipping, sent me the wrong item and when I tried to return my item they would not respond to me. "Craig Lofton" in live chat actually stopped responding to me as soon as I told him I needed an RA to return the merchandise that they got wrong. 2 weeks, 10 emails, ZERO responses. I emailed all sales reps, and the owner and got nothing. Go to a reputable site like MusiciansFriend.com if you need midi gear, because AUDIOMIDI.COM are crooks."

"I ordered a product and was dissatisfied with it. It was not broken. rather, it had poorly written drivers and advertised features that hadn't been implemented until a recent beta firmware update. without even questioning me they agreed to an exchange i offered to make for a higher priced item. only after this did they called me to ask me about the item and arrange payment details etc. I felt like i was their most valuable customer and will be buying all my audio hardware from them in the future."

"I checked online at about half a dozen web sites for the behringer ub1204 12 channel mixer. I was unable to find it in stock. I found it and ordered it along with an m-audio 24/96 sound card. both comparably priced, and free shipping for the two together. Ordered on a Monday received on a Friday. Pretty good for free shipping, Everything arrived in good working condition. No problems at all. "
