"A good friend of mine once told me that "you only learn the true quality of a company when something goes wrong". That is a very true statement.

Summary: I was working on a computer build with a deadline, and ZipZoomFly was a bit slow to ship a desperately needed part - forcing me to have it overnighted from another supplier. After speaking with ZZF's customer service, they agreed to accept the board's return, sans any restocking fee. Keep in mind I didn't have to "fight" or anything - I simply asked them. That small gesture has gone a long way in improving my opinion of ZZF, and overall, I'm impressed with their helpfulness, as well as their intent to take an active role in ensuring customer satisfaction.

Conclusion: I still may hold a slight grudge if I need something shipped ASAP, but overall they're a good business with good prices and I'd recommend them to anyone.

"I placed an order on 2-12-2010 for a processor and motherboard, since at the time ZZF was a bit cheaper than their competitor. At the time both items were in stock and I was allowed to add them to my cart and check out. I checked my order status online yesterday evening (2-15-2010) and it showed that both items were backordered, although my credit card had already been debited. I sent them an e-mail asking for an explanation and for when the items would be in stock. Note I did NOT receive any e-mails notifying me of the backordered items. Today I had not yet received a response so I called customer service and was told they had received my e-mail and were still "researching" when they would get them in stock. After complaining about my ordeal on a forum I found out that I am not the only one to experience this, so I checked resellerratings and sure enough there are dozens of complaints just like mine. I called ZZF again and canceled my order. I never had any problems with Googlegear and they always had decent ratings, but apparently this is not the same company, BUYER BEWARE."

"This company needs to be renamed ZipZoomFly By Night. They have demonstrated one of the most shady return policies on the Internet that I have ever seen.

I ordered 5 hard drives for a raid setup. One was damaged, so I RMA'd it and shipped it back. When the company received it, they would not issue a replacement, nor could they tell me if they would even issue a refund.

I told them I needed a replacement right away so I could complete the array setup, or a refund so I could purchase the product elsewhere. They simply said that they did not know if they could issue me a refund, and wouldn't know for 3 weeks.

After 8 days getting to me, and 7 days at my cost shipping back to them, they wanted me to wait 3 more weeks for them to tell me whether or not they would even issue me a refund. Are these guys not living on planet earth? Needless to say, I initiated a chargeback right away, the first time I have ever done that.

If you do buy from them because of their prices, you better get down on your knees now and pray with all your might that nothing will be wrong with your merchandise. Because if it is, you're done.

There is absolutely no need to ever buy from this company. There are plenty of other highly competitive merchants that will do cartwheels on your return in order to get and keep your business.

No amount of hassle, headache, or heartburn, is worth the aggravation and wasted time that ZipZoomFly By Night will give you if you need to do a return.

"I was looking for the ASUS Rampage II GENE MB for a new computer I was building. I checked Tiger Direct and several other sites (including Amazon and EBay), and discovered they had the MB for almost $30 dollars cheaper. It was ordered on a Friday and arrived in town on Monday. The carrier didn't deliver it on Monday only because it was slated to be delivered on Tuesday, and they had already done that days packages. That was fine with me. They are extremely fast with order processing and shipping. It arrived sooner than I had expected and is currently performing flawlessly in the liquid cooled rig that was built for it. I will definately be using them in the future, and I have told all my computer buddies to shop thru them if they need components at a low price."

"Made several purchases from them a couple of years ago and never had any problems, but was hesitant to order from them based on recent prior reviews.

My fears were put to rest. Order was shipped on the same day it was ordered and I received my order thru ground shipping a week later on the East Coast.

"Very UNFRIENDLY customer service policy! Everyone considering buying from ZipZoomFly BE FOREWARNED!!! They charge customers a 15% restocking fee on defective merchandise when you return it! I ordered a power supply and when it arrived, it was dead on arrival. I requested a refund, and was told I had 10 days to ship it back and the return required insurance...OK, $24 later and several weeks - I get a refund...LESS 15% restocking fee! How can you restock defective merchandise? I sent their customer service a friendly email and heard NOTHING back. When I called, I was simply told flat out there was nothing they were going to do about it. I've done business with them since they were GoogleGear but they just lost a regular customer. If you think about it - they might as well sell nothing but defective merchandise; their lousy 15% "restocking" fee is probably more profit than on working stuff!

"Great Company. I had a lot of fears after placing my order. I did not read the reviews until I had placed the order. Many reviews on this company is for their return poilcy. I had to return something and did not have any problems that was not quickly resolved. I am glad to have done business with them and look forward to doing business with them again. Thier prices are super low. As a company, they must keep cost as low as possible to give us the low prices. So as a customer, i order only what i know I need. If it a problem on their end they will make it right. "
