Poor Quality Clothes, Worse Customer Service

"I ordered about $250 worth of items from Zara's online store, only to receive poorly made garments that were already falling apart. When I contacted Zara to let them know the $70 dress I bought arrived with button elastics snapped off, buttons scratched from color, and seams falling apart, they responded back to say that they denied this a result from their manufacturing. What else could be the explanation then? Did the garments start to disintegrate during shipping? Unbelievable. I'll never be shopping with them again."

LaserShip, Amazon's New Shipping Partner, Might Be the Most Hated Company on the Internet
By
Dan Nosowitz

There are certain industries that inspire outsize amounts of rage when they screw up. Airlines are one. TV providers are another. But angry comment for angry comment, there may be no more rage-inducing business than package delivery. If you want to garner widespread customer fury, just deliver a package late or damaged and wait for the storm to roll in. LaserShip -- an Uber-like service that delivers packages for Amazon, Walmart, and Sephora, among others -- might just be the most hated company on the internet. Some comments, helpfully gathered by the criticism website lasershit.com:

LaserShip -- and the ocean of dissatisfied customers it leaves in its wake -- is an inevitable result of stratospheric growth. Reliable shipping companies like FedEx, UPS, and the USPS aren't able to deliver all of the same-day, next-day, and two-day packages that Amazon's Prime customers are paying for, and the infrastructure just isn't there to do it as cheaply and efficiently as Amazon needs. That's led to parasitic companies popping up to take advantage of Amazon's need for cheap, fast package delivery. The poster child might just be LaserShip.

Amazon uses a variety of ways to get people their packages. Because its volume is so huge, an algorithm automatically chooses the best available option between the USPS, UPS, FedEx, Amazon's own Flex delivery service, and any of several companies Amazon calls DSPs, or delivery-service providers. Customers can't select which shipping service they'd prefer; there's too high a chance that one of those companies is maxed out on how many deliveries it's making, or that the cost for Amazon would be too high. A same-day delivery done by FedEx could cost Amazon $50, according to Kevin Porter, who has worked for LaserShip, FedEx, and UPS as a courier. So Amazon sources cheaper options. One of those is LaserShip.

Twitter and many message boards, including posts on Amazon's own forums, are full of complaints about LaserShip. Packages aren't delivered. Packages are delivered late -- this is more troubling given that Amazon often claims a strict delivery window of the same day, the next day, or in two days -- or are left outside. Packages are marked as delivered and not delivered. Packages are delivered to the wrong address. Packages are often just completely lost. (The message for that one is, "LaserShip is unable to confirm control of your package at this time.") Sometimes, an error will show up on the tracking page: "Parcel damaged and will be discarded." Customers who attempt to contact LaserShip report being totally unable to solve their problems; they are better off contacting Amazon or whichever company they originally purchased their item from.

AND
Tom Mara of LaserShip cultivates an innocent persona. It's as if he is playing a character in a play, with very thoughtful displays of his personality. He completely puts on the innocent or especially sweet act, which is easy to believe. You shouldn't take your first impression of him or any of them at face value. If you don't know a person well, they can mislead you into thinking they are innocent or sweet. The only real way to know a sociopath's true personality is by getting to know them well. But if you listen to your intuition, you may get the feeling that their persona is just too simple to be real. Non-sociopaths are genuine people and not a perfect picture of a simplified personality.

WARNING: PLEASE BEWARE OF Predatory, philandering, sick men there, including but not limited to, effeminate Tom Mara who feign victim when they're exposed, outed or confronted.

I would just like to warn anyone looking for a position with this Company. Most of the people there are unskilled labor just trying to make ends meet. It's very diverse, which is a good thing, but then you realize, people are stuck there, with little to no education. LaserShip counts on this ignorance or lack of the ability to see that anyone has the ability to go somewhere where they can prosper and thrive.

I would say this isn't a company for anyone with any integrity. It's especially not fit for females. Predators to the Nth degree. All in management, sales especially.
Remember Uber, in the news recently? You NOW have an idea of what LaserShip is like. A bunch of dim-witted, philandering, Neanderthals who haven't realized that growing up and not cheating on your wives is not that bad. Beware of all of them, who pretend that they're family men and the ones who, especially project that they're so virtuous -- that projection is the red flag. They really wear who they are on the sleeves, so just watch and listen, but only if you have to work there; otherwise please stay away.

Don't ever shop at ZARA online

"Don't ever shop online at Zara! My order was apparently delivered during a time when 2 people were home. Even if they'd left it in front of the door, that would have been extremely careless. My house is at a street with many people walking past. I contacted customer service. They've denied my claim. Don't ever shop with them online, it's been a horrible experience!! I would give 0 stars if I could. "

Won't make good on defective product

"I purchased the men's item "Coat with Buckles" in fall 2017, and barely wore it for one month. The "leather" (I don't believe it is real leather) began tearing almost immediately, and the metal buckles sliced through.

I reached out to Zara's customer care team November 30, 2017 with photos of the defective product. First, they told me that I needed to bring the coat into a Zara store for assistance. When I told them that this was an online purchase and as such, I needed an online solution, and that I don't live near a Zara store, they said they would look into it, ultimately telling me that the product isn't defective and that there is nothing they can do. This is ABSOLUTELY a defective product.

The damage that has been done is from barely one month of wear, and it is not normal. I am not doing back flips or cartwheels in the coat. I buckle the coat, I ride a train to and from work, and this is the result. Recently, the bottom buckle, which I never buckle, fell off—just fell off!

After being told there was nothing that could be done by Zara's customer care team, I reached out to the CEO, Dilip Patel, via e-mail and postal mail, and... shocker...

received no response.I will never, EVER shop the Zara brand or any of its affiliates again, and will make sure everyone knows what poor quality the apparel is.

Monetary Loss: $249.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

cant't handle customer service

"cant't handle customer service at all. they will simply read the policy that call back in 72 hours, receive email 1 hour, return process in 10-14 business days, supervisor call back, but get no feed back within those time frame. case number 23544704, please don't tell me you will contact me in 24-72hours. I tried for a month now. Call in multiple times, no one called me back or send me the email or process the return. Customer service should be provided when customer have time to call you, not wait for you to call back. we have jobs and things to do. if keep making mistakes in returning or providing actual customer service, you should close those department and let people know you can only do physical stores. 80% of the representatives cannot even understand my problem and not helpful at all, try to created duplicated case or ask for something i already told them over and over again in the beginning, can't find my case, can't understand the situation, simply told me return takes 14 days.wasted way too much time with them for a loss of $100. if a refund will take a month, is it too long, zara??? you can't even solve the problem on the spot or actual call back in 72 hrs? never had any experience with other business.I am shocked there is such unprofessional things existing, and it's from Zara!"

Horrible return policy

"Bought a $260 leather jacket for our son on 11/13 for Christmas. Realized Christmas day it was too small. Immediately purchased another one in the correct size and put the wrong size in the mail back to them. Just received the return package back refused by Zara because it was outside their 30 return policy. unbelievable !!!!!!!!!!!!! So......you cannot purchase Christmas presents earlier than 12/4 or you are STUCK with them no matter what. Am surprised these people are still in business.

Money not refunded

"On 6 Nov 2017,I had placed for a few products from Zara India website. One of the sweaters were 2 in number but only 1 was delivered so i wrote to the Zara site and they said they would send the remaining sweater. however in the initial order due to size issues i returned two sweaters because they were medium and did not fit me well. i was refunded the amount for these two sweaters shortly after. Meanwhile i received the one outstanding sweater which was also medium sized thus i placed the request for that also. the sweater was picked up but never refunded. And then kept writing endless mails to the site stating that my money has not been refunded. They kept sending me one answer that amount for two sweaters has been refunded. Whole November and December and January till now I am mailing them and they just send stupid answers and now only automated mails. In my last mail i had sent them screenshots for 2 returns (one for 2 sweater and second one for 1 sweater) proving that i returned 3 sweaters but was only refunded for 3 sweaters. but all i receive is automated system generated mails. The amount to be refunded was 1890 rs. the order number that were involved were :418030289 (where 2 sweaters were returned) and 424005464 (where one sweater was returned). the return request screenshots are attached which proves that i returned 3 sweaters. All were priced at 1890, but i was only refunded 3780 (rs 1890+ 1890) for two sweaters."

Horrible return policy

"I bought a Christmas present at ZARA and tried to return it on Dec 31 only to be told that the deadline was 30th. So lesson learnt, you can't buy Christmas presents at ZARA if you are away for Christmas since you can not return, exchange etc past Dec 30th. TERRIBLE. will NEVER shop at ZARA again. "

Experience very similar to the other complaints, so it's no fluke! Employees trained to lie and ultimately steal from customers.

"My wife ordered several shirts for my daughter as a Christmas present. The order arrived in a few days, but when she opened the box, one the shirts had razor cuts on it. Bottom line, they wouldn't accept the shirt for a refund. They sent the shirt back because they said it was damaged. Yes, that's why we returned it because it came to us damaged. When we received the damaged shirt for a second time, my wife called again, and they said they can't accept return of damaged shirt. STAY AWAY from this dishonest company."

Did not receive all items and Zara refused to provide refund

"I used to love Zara and have spent a lot of money at their stores over the years; however, after being ripped off by their online shopping site, I will never shop there again. I ordered 4 items and only received 2 of them. The parcel was left outside of my door. The package was poorly wrapped and it was difficult to determine if it was tampered with, but obviously it must have been. The company claimed that all items were in the box, so I guess it was the courier company. Regardless, as a customer, I feel robbed...especially when the company does not give the customer an option as to how the product is shipped! :(

absolutely worst return service you could possibly imagine

"I returned two separate items, in two separate boxes on 12/6/17. Got my refund for one, but the other $129 coat I had not received a refund for. I called Zara customer service and gave them the order number. He looked it up and said it has not been scanned in.
I told him that I physically took the returns myself to the USPS and watched her scan them in, and have a receipt of proof of return. I was told by that representative to send a picture of return receipt from USPS on the zara.com chat and I would be refunded.
I sent the receipt in the chat site and the chat sales represtentative said she would email me with conformation that the refund is being processed. It's been almost a week and I still have not even received an email.

Ive got on the chat about 4 more times now to re-explain the situation and conveniently after I give them my order number to look it up they disconnect. I just talked to MY 3rd "case manager" via phone, reexplained the situation and she said she would have someone call me back in 24-72 business hours. The case managers name is Cheri. I will never order anything online from this store again and I recommend no one else does either.
