"Computer arrived a little late due to backorder on some parts. Once it arrived, I found it to be in exceptional condition. Worked great out of the box and is head and shoulders above my old computer. SLI configuration works great. Only problems I have are the noisy fan (which I found I can control with an, add on, free fan controller) and the 3.5 floppy wouldn't work. An email to support brought a phone call. The guy actually left detailed instructions on my voice recorder to fix the problem the next day. (upside down ribbon). That's good service in my book. I will definitely buy from them again."

"I had a mixed experience with buyxg while buying my xg action 6000 from buyxg.com, but in the end I love my purchase
I ordered it on the 16th, originally planning to purchase an xg action 5000, a day after they ended a promotional where i would recieve a 1gb flash drive with my order.Then the day after i ordered it the price dropped significantly, i called to see if i could change my order, but they couldn't just do that, they had to take a couple days to credit my card and I had to reorder. The lady i talked to wasn't very patient.
I could call the store about any time i wanted, so about 5 days after not receiving my laptop and the order status site not being updated past the date it should have been shiped, i called and they said the people who were supposed to ship them some parts hadn't done so yet. The man I talked to was pleasant and understanding, and upgraded my shipping to 3-day without a problem.It took me a month to get my computer after the original purchase date.
I LOVE my laptop. I use it for gaming and I wll be using it for school this fall. I run games like Day of Defeat source, counter-strike source, World of Warcraft. It can take on any games at the moment. I got the turion ml-40 and a x1600 256mb card, 2gb of memory, and an 80gb 7200rpm drive. The screen is nice and big, the shift key to the left is a little hard to get used to because it is 1 space long and has a slash next to it. I would buy from this company again because they make a killer product for the lowest price i've seen Anywhere! It took a while to get it, but I could understand why it took so long. It will last almost 2 hours unplugged, and runs a little warm while playing games hardcore, but i got a lapcool 3 to keep it from getting too bad.

"I am very satisfied with the pc I ordered and the customer service I received during and after the sale. The order status was updated regularly and even shipped before the date stated on the status page. I received my order via fedex in excellent condition. Everything works and I could not be more happy. I contacted customer service a few days after I received the pc to inquire about additional memory for the device and received a prompt courteous reply. I will definitely do business with XtremeGear again in the future.

**** UPDATE ****
After a few weeks the PC started rebooting at random times for seemingly no reason. The problem it would seem is the video card. I tried contacting support but never got a response from them. I replaced the ATI x800 GTO with an NVIDIA Geforce 7300 GS and it is working now with no issues. I am updating this review to say that it seems this company will only respond to calls/emails that DON'T include problems. Which in my eyes does not favor well, although I still think I would buy again from them.

"I ordered a $1800 gaming system from these guys 2 months ago, but I waited to post this review until I received my refund. DONT BUY FROM XTREME GEAR. My system arrived and it was like it had never even been tested... could not install WoW or Oblivion, got memory errors, blue screen crashes, etc. Tried replacing the RAM but it didn't help, when I tried to re-install Windows it would crash and give errors. I finally sent it back for a refund. The sales guys were ok, the tech support guys were bad though... rude, condescending, couldnt find my order in their database (!), hung up on me, etc. If you have problems with your system this is what you can expect to deal with, as well as disorganization from Xtreme Gear regarding whether your order is from Cyberpower or Xtreme Gear, long hold times on the phone, etc. I was completely unimpressed with these guys and I would never recommend them to anyone. Yeah their prices are good, but when I order a PC for $1800, I expect it to work, and if doesnt, I expect some good customer service. Bottom line: AVOID."

"I purchased a custom MSI 1039 laptop from Xtreme Gear, and I love the laptop and price, and the service was acceptable. I placed the order at the end of may, and was told it would ship in 1 to 2 weeks and take a week to ship. This was all fine. However, by about June 22th, it had yet to be shipped, so I called the company up. The first time I called, I could not get through, but the next day I did, and I was informed that the barebones kits (the laptop case, screen, keyboard, and system board) received were fewer than expected. Only 15 of 100 were received. I was assured that it would be shipped out shortly. I was okay with this, I just wish I had been informed.

On June 28th, I received an e-mail stating the same situation, and that they would be receiving their order by July 5th, and would ship them ASAP. Well, a few days after the 5th, still nothing shipped, so I called again, I believe on the 10th. The rep told me the shipment was still yet to come in, and might come in on the 14th, but it was unlikely.

For some reason, the laptop ended up shipping a few days later on the 13th. I hopped for complementary express shipping to compensate for the delay, but it was still standard groung, though I never requested a shipping upgrade.

I receive the laptop through fedex ontime on the 19th of July. The laptop was VERY well packed, and everything expected was enclosed and intact.

Overall, I am happy with the product, and the customer service is acceptable, though I wish more updates were given on either the site or e-mail if there is a delay. I understand things happen, and it was most likely out of their control, but over a month an a half is a long wait for a laptop one expects in 2-3 weeks.

I would reccomend this company because of their great prices, products, and good service, but I would be weary of ordering anything that was needed immediately. Of course, this is just luck.

And Xtreme Gear, thank you for the great laptop and the low price!

"I purchased a $900 system from these guys, and they did a great job. The system arrived right on time, and was in perfect condition. I read through some of the negative reviews of this place, but after going through a tweak or two to start my system (and contacting their customer help for assistance), they not only helped me within 12 hours of my emails to them, they called me back and spoke to me about how to get it up and running.

Great company, great system, glad I used them. My brother had bought a very similar system from them a few months ago, and he recommended them. It was a good recommendation, and I make the same to you.

Their sales people are on the ball, and extremely helpful.

"Overall, I am unsure about this company. Their prices are great, I got the laptop I wanted for less than I would be able to build it for myself, rare with whitebook dealers, but the integrity of their product is suspect, as is their RMA proceedure.

When I got the laptop, with 2 gigabytes of RAM, I was working happily until I started getting random BSODs. I narrowed the problem down to the two sticks of Corsair value ram they were using, when testing with memtest86+, one stick threw 300,000 errors, the other, nearly 3,000,000 errors.

I called buyxg tech support, listened to their hold music for about 10 minutes, got an RMA number, and shipped the individual ram sticks back.

Two weeks later, I get new RAM. With one of the sticks in slot one, the machine won't even boot. With that in slot two, and the other in slot 1, the machine throws around 500,000 errors within the first few seconds.

So I RMA that too.

Just got the RMA back today. It's another bad stick.

I called and got an RMA number. I can understand that it's difficult to test each and every stick of RAM that goes through a reseller, but if a customer has filed 3 RMAs on a specific piece of hardware, it would be nice to be able to offer them the reassurance that the next piece of hardware WILL actually be tested. I asked if they would do this, they refused. Even a "I'm sorry for your trouble, there will be overnight shipping on the return" or "I'm sorry for your trouble, here's $50 credited to your account on your next purchase" or "I'm sorry for your trouble, we're going to give you premium RAM instead of the hardware you've had trouble with."

Even an "I'm sorry for your trouble" would be nice.

Overall, great prices, terrible shipping speed on fully systems (three weeks roughly, though admittedly, it does say so on the website), and dubious customer relations. While they're willing to do their RMAs at a reasonable pace, they're unwilling to go the extra step in providing great customer service, unlike other retailers I regularly buy from.

It is unlikely I will be purchasing from buyxg.com again.

edit:
I appreciate the quick response. I'm inclined to believe that it is the RAM itself that is the culprit, since 4/5 of the sticks I have recieved so far have failed. The remaining stick works fine, and I've had no issues with it so far.

I really doubt that the whitebook is the problem, since I did all the testing in both my old system and the new system provided by buyXG. The stick of 512 that I have tested fine in each, and the 1 good stick of 1024 tested fine in each, with the remaining 4 sticks throwing many errors on both systems.

Edit 2:
Ended up getting another bad stick of ram, which buyxg was kind enough to allow me to return for refund. Changing review from somewhat dissatisfied to neutral.

"I entered this purchasing experience with buyxg.com with some hesitation. But after reading dell.com's rating (in fact if you're thinking about buying from them, read about their current situation on this website), I thought I'd give Xtreme Gear a try.
I ordered the msi-1039 notebook, which was exactly what I was looking for in a laptop (light weight balanced with power). The day after I customized my system they called me the day right after to confirm the order, and also informed me that the paint job would take an extra 3 to 4 weeks (so I took that off the order). Everything went smoothly and I received my order in a little over 2 weeks (there was a holiday in between and I didn't put it on rush).
However a minor heart attack happened right after I received the laptop, to make the story short, I almost returned it if weren't for a)I deducted the problem to purely memory, infact both of my 1gb ram sticks were faulty (scanned w/ memtest) and b)Xtreme Gear's service.
I sent the damaged memory back and they sent new memory back to me in less than a week (it almost seemed like the new ones were upgraded from the generic i purchased at first). The notebook's been working great so far.
A word of advice to future buyyers, you should understand that buyxg does not necessarily QC every part that came from different manufacturers, you should have some understanding of computers when you are ordering a custom system. But overall this company so far proved to me that small businesses can thrive in the shadow of corporate monsters like dell. They've been great to me in both sells and tech support(though sometimes it's nice to know a little about tech when talking to tech support.)

"Preliminary Review. I shopped around a lot before I decided on BuyXG. I placed the order last night and I was told this morning that my order should ship on the 4th of July. Since that's a national holiday, I'm expecting a 5th of July ship date and then delivery by the 15th [at least that's the hope]

I've ordered a brand new video card to the market so I hope there aren't many issues with it. Joe in the sales department was kind enough to gather some information for me on power supply requirements, fan noise and general case value.

I'll update this as the process goes on.

update: Expected ship date now stands confirmed @ 7/5/2006. I've called them every other day to ensure that they intend to meet it. So far so good. More updates later.

Update 2: Shipped a day early from them. So far I am impressed. Received a sales invoice as soon as the package was picked up from their warehouse. Estimated delivery day is Saturday 7/8/06. Looks like we wait till they deliver and I plug the sucker in.

"I recently ordered a custom computer from buyxg.com. I have heard various things about this company, mostly that shipping takes a long time and sometimes parts can be switched on the buyer. I will be updating this review after my computer arrives and let everyone know if it arrives hopefully before the end of the month ok and is working.

Update: I received the PC on 6/23 and it is in one piece and works just fine. BUT, I inspected the components and realized that the Ram I ordered was not installed--instead there was a cheap brand which goes for $35, so that was a disappointment since the point of custom PC's is to have control of the quality of the guts of the computer. I've been told it was an honest mistake so I'll give buyxg the benefit of the doubt; I'll be satisfied as soon as I get the Ram I ordered and I don't have to send the whole PC back in the mail.

-Asked for an RMA for the Ram--I was told that the Ram in the PC was comparable to what I ordered by the rep which is false and when I told him so he did not agree with me and basically would not give me an RMA number. Calling back again later--this is not the way this is supposed to work folks...

Final thoughts on buyxg-- Well everything I read about them before is still true--shipping takes a long time--stay on top of them..and parts were switched on me without notice (I did not get the RAM or HDD that I ordered, and the RAM was inferior to what I payed for, not sure about the HDD). After calling customer support twice I cannot get an RMA for the RAM so don't order from this company unless you don't mind kicking and screaming to get problems solved. Basically ordering from buyxg is a little risky and they don't seem to be a company which really "has it together", so if you want to work with a more customer friendly company with no hassles then buy elsewhere, otherwise they aren't that bad as long as nothing goes wrong with your computer...and you get what you ordered...
