"This company was nothing but trouble from the begining. I wish I would have known about this site before buying the computer. With that said, here it is...

I bought the computer because I saw it on half.com for a reasonable price (p4 2.4GHz, blah blah). Well, it came to my apartment in about 4 or 5 days, and I installed XP and all the goods on it, and a week later, while playing half life, it rebooted itself. Thinking that I did it with my foot, I continued on. Then again, and again it rebooted itself. Soon it wouldn't even start up. The power would come on, then the fans, then ... shut off. This sucks because I am a FULL SAIL student and I need my computer.
So I call tech support and tell the sales rep everything. He sends a new power supply and that doesn't even work. So I sent the computer back, today actually.
It cost me $55 dollars to ship the computer, software, and the extra power supply that was sent to me. So I call the sales rep and ask him if there will be anykind of check or something sent to me for the shipping charges, he says only $30.

update 4/4/03
now, after 2 weeks of trying to update my onboard video to a geforce AGP, I have come to realize that the AGP slot is either not working or the motherboard they sent with the computer just sucks. It won't even let me disable onboard in the bios, or with the jumpers. So now I have to send the motherboard back and pay shipping AGAIN. Also, after checking with the sales rep, it seems that they didn't credit my account the last time I had to send the computer back.
Not to mention that everytime I try to run Maya on the computer (the program I am going to school to learn, mind you) The video memory gets sucked dry and I can barely run the program...

"This company is some how related to Antaresnow.com that is why i am posting in this section too, since people need to know the scam being run by this company and others.

This is probably one of the worse companies I have bought from. I saw them on pricewatch.com and after reading the rating here I decided to go with them. I purchased a Motherboard Kit from them for XP1800/MSI KT7 Turbo. I placed the order online and waited a couple of days and it said that it was on hold because needed to verify shipping address.

First of all they do not reply to any e-mails, so don't bother. If you call their number on the website, you will get X Technologies !!! Not Antaresnow but X Technologies, there is no number for antaresnow, this is some sort of scam because alvio.com is somehow linked to Antersnow.com. I believe there are like 10 websites run by X Technologies.

Search X Technologies on this website and you will see their low ratings. Anyway, I called them and the Customer Service/Tech Support people are absolutely rude and have no manner in which to speak. I told them I have an order, they said wait a couple of days. I asked them is the kit coming assembled, they said no, I said on the website it says "tested and assembled with 1 year warranty", they said it'll cost extra to assemble. I said What? I told them I want to cancel, they said we'll charge you to cancel. I finally convinced her of the deal, and she placed a note saying to assemble, I knew it wasnt going to get assembled by her attitude , this was on Nov.18 2002.

I waited a week, and it still said pending, I recieved a call saying the motherboard is out of stock, we should be getting it soon, I said ok, she offered another motherboard, but I wanted the one with SDRAM. Anyways, I kept calling every other day and often times they would say give me your order # and I'll call you back, our system is down, I never got a call back. Last Friday, I called and said I was told it was going to be shipped, Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Friday, why hasn't it been shipped, they said it'll get shipped this week. I called today and it wasn't shipped and still it was a maybe, this exactly after two weeks since I place the order. I said I want to cancel, and she said ok, I asked whether I would be charged, she said no, but I'm still waiting for the payment to post back to my credit card, they took the payment out the 3rd day when I placed the order.

This was the worse experience ever, and I still have not recieved the money yet, I am hoping they post it back. If you want to risk throwing away your money, then buy from these guys, but this is a first class scam. These guys dont care about anything except for charing your card.

DON'T BUY FROM THEM!!!! Lear from my experience, I have decided to go with mwave.com for the exact same combo, at least they have some good ratings. Also don't trust pricewatch.com its a waste of time, most of the dealers on there are the worse. Just use ncix.com , even if it costs a bit more.

Update- 12/03/02 - These guys are the worst human beings alive, I called to check whether my order had been cancelled after I had told the girl in customer service to cancel it, guess what, they never cancelled it. I called my credit card company and disputed the amount and called antaresnow and told them to cancel, finally they did, but I'm still waiting for my money to come back. The cust service had told me I should recieve a full refund, but then they changed to a 15% cancellation fee, hell no, im not paying a cancellation fee, i never got the order, plus, they've lied to me several times, pls do not buy from them, save yourself the trouble. This was the worst online experience I have ever had. I just hope I get my entire amount back, all this frustration for nothing, the best way to hurt these guys is by not buying from them at all, they run a complete scam!!!

"Do no buy from these guys. I bought this computer about 9 months ago, and from reading some of the other posts I should count my blessing that the thing still works. My main problem was with there shipping and customer service. My computer was shipped to me three times before it finally got to me. The first time was my fault...I'll admit, but the second time was not. It was sent back to the vender so I call customer service to see what they were going to do. Well first of all, they accused to of not knowing my own address. Secondly and most importantly, they refused to pay to have it reshipped. They said, "It's not our fault that UPS couldn't find your house." All I have to say is, how is this my problem? Sounds like something they need to take up with UPS instead of making their customers suffer. All and all it was a bad experience and I would never buy from them again."

"Everyone who has had a bad experience from Xtechnology really needs to contact the BBB AND any auction sites that they are on.

Post reviews about them and contact the webmaster or whoever will be willing to protect the customer.

To my knowledge they are doing this stuff to people everyday. If you read the reviews I had the same problems everyone else did..only I had ordered two computers and both arrived DOA.

They need to be stopped.

"I used these guys for a couple of years without any problem. But you've got to be technicly skilled enogh to understand what you want when assembling your new system. They offer huge veriety of components for reasonable prises. So far, I had a positive experience with them. And returns are no problem when they see that you know what you are talking about."

"I posted the following review on the 27th of April, but it "mysteriously" disappeared on May 2nd. Why does X-technology remove all of the bad reviews? Since then, I have called and e-mailed X-technology many times, but I have not yet received a response. They are refusing to address my problem. Here is the review: I bought a computer from X-technology about 2 months ago. Just recently, I decided to update my computer by buying a graphics card. Just to be safe, I asked this seller a question on 4/27/02: Is the motherboard compatible with an Inno3d Tornado Geforce4 MX 440 graphics card? Thanks. The seller responded by saying: Yes, it is. Thanks! Based on this response, I went out and bought the specified card. Well since that time, I have spent over 18 hours trying to get this card to work. I even called the X-technology tech support, and they told me that I would have to flash my BIOS, which I gladly did (twice). Yet, the problem was still not solved. I have reinstalled my operating system (4 times), tried half a dozen drivers, and downloaded several programs to try to fix the compatibility issue. But this motherboard is not compatible, so no matter what I do, nothing can fix the problem. There is even a discussion group dedicated to creating a list of compatible cards for this motherboard! That's how bad the problem is! Why would X-technology tell me it is compatible when it is not? Was I wrong to expect a half-decent motherboard? I even asked if they could send me a replacement motherboard, but they responded by saying it would be a sixty dollar difference, and I would have to ship my computer to Cleveland for them to install it, despite the fact that they said it was compatible in the first place. Any decent business would admit that they made a mistake and send a replacement board, but X-technology has lied to me and have refused to fix my problem. I was naive enough to believe their response about the compatibility, and I have paid the price. What am I supposed to do now?

"IT was my fault with the delay in shipping the first time but they sent my P4 1.8gig and 512mb to me without the P4 and ram. All the rest was there, speakers, keyboard, mouse, dvd, cdr. Tech support gave me crap for a day, then I called a sales rep who ran the ebay post that I bought it from. He did an "investigation," and wouldn't let me talk to the owner, and told me the best he could do was split the cost of a new processor. Since they wouldn't refund my full amount if I sent the system back to them, I went for that and I will never do business again with them."

"I ordered a AMD Athlon XP 1700+ for a client. They told me it would ship in 7 days. 10 days later I called them back and was told that it was being tested. 2 days later they call and tell me that the mobo is so new that the GeForce4 MX440 Video card will not work with it. Then they say but if you will upgrade to a 128 mb video card for 25 dollars it can ship today. I said goferit. Two days later I get the same call. The mobo is so new that the card wont work. BUT, (are you seeing the same cycle here?) if you upgrade your mobo it will ship today. Told them to cancel the order and refund my cc. I suppose I was luckier than most. They did in like a week. Rude doesnt even begin to describe their customer service. "

"My computer didn't work right from the day I got it. It stopped working completely 4 months after I got it. I shipped it to them, and they took 3 months to fix it, and they shipped it back to me broken. It hasn't worked since, and that was a year ago. They wouldn't return my calls, and won't give me a refund. AVOID THEM."
