"I really wish I can give this company a good rating, since the price was great and the customer service was very polite but they did not ship my order for 2 weeks!
I placed the order on Sunday night, called them the next morning to confirm the order as requested. Customer service person was polite, didnt even push for any overpriced accessories. They told me I would get a UPS shipping confirmation soon, and it would reach my door the end of the week, so I was like okay. My credit card was charged that same day.
It was Thursday and I didnt get any UPS email yet, so I called and they now said I would get it early the next week. Thats fine with me.
It was week #2, Tuesday, no shipping email whatsoever. I called them, and they spent a lot of time talking to the manager, so on and so forth. The guy then told me they had directed the order to a distributor and somehow there was a delay in shipment, but they now had the item in stock locally and can ship it overnight. I was like great, and he apologized.
Friday, no shipping confirmation, no news whatsover. I called in and canceled my order.
It's a week after Friday now and they haven't reimbursed my credit card charge. If they don't do it by the end of billing cycle (in a few days), I'm going to my bank and file a complaint.
Good luck dealing with this company. Personally, I would look elsewhere."
"Web site said the item was in stock, and when I called to confirm, the service representative was friendly."
"In shopping for a digital camera, I searched through hundreds of online stores. I actually called over 10 stores who advertised very low prices on the camera I was interested in. Each time I called these stores I found that contrary to what their website had said, the camera they had for sale was either not in stock, only in stock if I purchased several overpriced accessories, or an import model with no warrenty and none of the accessories that are normally included with the camera. Wells Digital was the only store that I found to be completely honest on their webpage about what they were selling (they did mention that they sold some import cameras or refurbished cameras, but each of these were clearly labeled as such). I purchased a refurbished camera from them for about the same price as a new import model. The price was a little more than I wanted to spend, but they made up for it with excellent customer service (by far the best of any digital camera store that I called), and they gave me a great deal on some accessories (a spare battery pack ~$50 on most web sites, a set of 3 lens filters ~$100 on most websites, and a barrel adapter for the lens filters ~$20 on most websites, all this for $115). Whereas most websites posted low priced cameras with very high priced accessories ($400 for a 512 Mb XD-picture card) Wells digital gave honest prices for their cameras and excellent prices for their accessories, and they back it up with the best customer service in the business."
"This order was confirmed by phone as in-stock on the 3-18-2004. The on-liine store tracking still showed it as "Placed" on 3/23. I called to confirm my in-stock item had shipped on 3/23, the "Wells replied it will ship today." I sent a email to Wells Customer Service on 3-25-04 asking for a tracking number. I called them on 3-26-04, and was told I was on there list to call today. I was also told it was never in stock and my credit card had already been charged. The order has been cancled, but a week has been lost and the event that drove this purchase is now a week away.
"
"website indicated "in stock" -- I was called about "my address and availablility" -- when I was finally able to get back to them, they said "we have lost our distributor and have no stock available, but we are functioning through a reseller who only offers the camera packaged with accessories; would you like to cancel your order or buy a pacgake?" -- I elected to cancel"
"This company had the best price listed on Pricegrabber for the Sony TRV-950 Camcorder. Their website said it was "In Stock" so I ordered one on 2/3/04. I received a confirmation email that same day saying "1 Ordered/1 In Stock". I checked my order status online daily and it never changed? Finally, on 2/6/04 I called customer service to ask when my order was going to ship. They told me they could only get the cameras as a package, apologized for the delay, then proceeded to offer me accessories "at cost"! I cancelled my order.
This company operates just like the worst ones in New York even though they are in Delaware. Be careful."
"Fast, clean, easy transaction. No sales pitch and the product was as promised. They took a little longer then I thought was necesssary to ship the product, but that was the only hitch."
"I placed an order for a Canon A80 on 12/11 and requested 3-day expedited delivery. Aside from the automated response following placement of the order, I have heard absolutely nothing from these folks. Order tracking was down much of the time, the phones are unanswered by a live body and 5 days after I sent in the order, the product is somewhere in limbo. I just sent them a formal request to cancel this order. They can proceed at their own peril, as I will not accept any deliveries from Wells Digital. A completely unsatisfactory purchasing experience."
"Wells Digital had a great price for my camera (canon powershot s400). However, I had a rather hard time getting the camera. My online order was great - everything went through. I got a call the next day to tell me that they needed my security code on my credit card to process my order. I gave it to them, and expected my order to be shipped out that week, which I was told that it would and would arrive in 2-3 days. I waited and the camera never came. When I checked my order online, I saw that the status had been changed to cancelled. Apparently they had cancelled my order for me (without telling me ahead of time), although the camera was still in stock. I thought it might be an error due to the fact that they didn't have my credit card security code so I did nothing. I recieved an email about my cancelled order a couple days after saw it online, and then I quickly called to figure out why my order was cancelled. I spoke with customer service who was very nice, said that there was a mistake and upgraded my shipping, telling me that she would ship it out the next day so that I would recieve it as soon as possible. But again, the camera never came. So I had to send out two more emails and give Wells Digital a call AGAIN. Because of phone problems, I didn't recieve a call back from their customer service until almost 5 days later, although I don't know why they didn't respond to my email. I was assured that the customer service representative would personally send out my order that day. I didn't know what exactly to expect since I had been let down twice already. However, I did finally recieve the package, about 3 1/2 weeks after I first ordered it. I never really got an explaination about why it took them so long to process my order, but at least I have my camera now. "
"HOLY COW!!! You can actually order a camera online & not have to go through living hell to get it. After a bad experience trying just to place an order with one of the bottom-feeding bloodsuckers that masquerade as an online camera retailer, I came upon Wells Digital. Only a couple reviews but they were positive. The price was lower than most but not rock-bottom for the camera I was looking for. The website told the whole story upfront of how the company operates including shipping charges without having to put your items in a shopping cart first. So with much trepidation, I sucked it up & ordered since the camera was “in stock” (yeah, right!!) Well, guess what? No need to call to confirm your order – checkout through Yahoo. Thus no hardcore sales pitch budget buster to be subjected to. The company gives YOU the choice when you purchase of buying the camera only or one of 3 progressive kits or a la carte…right there on the website. So I ordered the camera & starter kit because I wanted a case anyway & I would eventually want an extra SD card & rechargeable NiMH batteries & charger at some point. I placed my order online at 1AM Saturday & got the immediate proverbial “thanks for your order” e-mail (oh, boy – they must be working on it right now!). Lo & behold, I got a FedEx e-mail Monday that my order was shipped (what?…no way!). Thursday afternoon, it arrived. Everything! As promised! Never needed or wanted to make a phone call…never had to. Get this…THEY’RE e-mailing me a survey to rate my experience (happens all the time, right?). If Wells Digital can service their customers’ wants & needs like they did mine, the bottom-feeding bloodsuckers will get their just reward…no business. Wells Digital goes in My Favorites for tech bargain surfing. I highly recommend them based on my experience. Hope this helps others trying to find a decent online camera retailer."
