"The single port RS-232 serial cardbus PCMCIA ordered does not work at all- I am an experienced PC builder and engineer. The insulting language of their return policy is the worst customer service anyone can receive. I returned item,, paid shipping to receive, then return shipping at a cost of almost the product price. Received an email only that item was received. No response about item or refund, now July 2.. I will not order ever again and strongly advise read these reviews."

"It was a horrible experience. No communication; I called and emailed several times, and never received an ETA for the cables I ordered. After four inquiries over the course of more than two weeks (only one time did I actually get to talk to a live person, who knew nothing), I get an automated email telling me that my order was cancelled. The cable I need isn't sold anywhere else I could find; otherwise I wouldn't have gone to this amount of trouble. One of the worst and most frustrating online shopping experiences I've ever had."

"I purchased a powered USB hub with a serial port from USBGear / CoolGear (same people) in December. It arrived DOA, the power adapter was bad. I was completely underwhelmed with the product, absent users manual, and lack of drivers and technical data on their web site. I contacted their tech support and after being told to read the manual (none, remember), my trouble ticket was closed. So I returned the item for a refund.

I received the item back a month or so later with a good power adapter, and no refund. No replies to my e-mails, I am probably stuck with it.

In short, marginal product, no documentation, offensive technical support and no customer service. Never again.

"I ordered twice from these guys. My first order I had an issue since they send me a bad USB2.0 card; it didn't work with my USB2.0 drive OR USB Keyboard/mouse. (I run WinXP SP1). So I ask for an RMA, and during the course of our exchanged e-mails he suggested that I was stupid basically (I am a Software Engineer who works on Operating Systems code and Network Monitoring systems). But he did allow the RMA however.

I ordered a second time from these guys; this time my product I ordered was not as stated as on their site. (I think the distributor of this usb audio deviced changed the product w/o giving it a new revision/model #), so basically I didnt not get what I wanted. Again, tech support exchanged e-mails with me. Again, tech support said, literally "(i think we have records of you having problems with other devices from us, i will check into this asap)", suggesting that it might be my fault once again. In another e-mail, he realized I was the person who had a problem with the previous order a month before, and said, in a rude sort of way, "Please do send item back for re-testing (did you ever learn that PCMCIA
specification does not provide power?)". either the tech is not a native English speaker, or he is just normally very rude. (The above comment comes since he was refering to my previous order, which was btw uncalled for, in which I had hooked up my USB 2.0 drive to the PCMCIA card. This has worked for others, that is why I tried it, but his statement is out of context).

Basically these people are rude, and will hassle you if you have any problems. I would suggest you all go wide out of your way to avoid them. Only reason I ordered from them a second time was because they were the only distributor of the product I wanted. Also the techs automatically assume you are stupid, which is very interesting since 1) one of them incorrectly stated USB1.0 devices were not compatible with USB2.0 cards/hubs 2) PCMCIA slots do not provide power (if that is the case, then how do wireless cards work??).

Anyways, avoid these guys like the plague. My first order with them btw came with no OEM packaging, which is funny since they will charge you extra if you return a product with no packaging. go figure.

"I bought an external Firewire/USB 2.0 enclosure from them. It cost me nearly double the price for the same product from another (reputable) online store (of course I only found out afterwards). In any case, after paying a hefty $90, my enclosure became defective 2 and a half months afterwards.
Oh, and when the product arrived, I was extremely dissapointed. I paid an overpriced $90 for this plastic POS that broke after 2.5 months?! I mean, the plastic isn't even the high quality plastic that, say, laptops are made out of... it's just regular old junky plastic! Maybe if they had sold it at the appropriate price, I wouldn't be so dissapointed.
This just really sucks; being a student, do I really want to go through the certainly 1-2 month process of obtaining an RMA, waiting for them to test it, and then waiting for them to ship it back via snailmail? Plus, seeing as how the other reviewer said they didn't even send the product back, I am doubtful about my own chances as well...
I don't recommend ordering from this company, simply because the quality of their products is poor, and the charge DOUBLE PRICE for the SAME PRODUCT!
PS this company assumes a huge number of different names under different websites... Their "biggest" (ie parent) name is Quality Cables, and they also go by USB Gear, Firewire Gear, Hardwaremax, Coolgear, and a bazillion other names

"I placed 2 orders at the same time to be delivered to seperate addresses. Their brilliant system kicked the second order out thinking it was a duplicate--completely inane, but at least explainable.

No response to email attempts, but I finally reach someone on the phone. He apologizes for problem and replaces order for me.

First order arrives with double appropriate shipping charge. Week goes by and there's still nothing on the second order. I call again. I'm told they screwed up again, and will (AGAIN) replace the 2nd order, and wave shipping (because of wrong charge on 1st order).

Another week, nothing. I call, its on backorder, will ship next week.

Another week, nothing! This time I call and they have no idea who I am and don't see anything but the first order in the system. I have to write a long-winded email explaining everything and they finally reply with: only one order was placed and we shipped it according to your request, we made no mistakes. I have both of the online receipts to prove them wrong (and I attached them to my email).

So not only did they completely screw up and screw me out of extra dollars, I never received the second order and have now been called a liar.

Don't ever order from this company!!!
