"I ordered a USB to serial adapter from USBGear about 18 months ago. It worked perfectly and the price was good so when I needed another one and a USB hub I didn't give a second thought to going back to them. "USBGear did a good job for me; they had the right part and shipped on time. I would buy from them again. I did not have to contact them at all during this order. (Update Dec 29, 2009 **however** I did email them at a later date (6/23/09) to request a copy of my invoice. They did not bother to answer. I tried again 2 months later (8/18/09) still got no reply. I gave up, will have to "live" without the invoice that I needed. At least the part I ordered is still functioning and that is probably a VERY good thing. If they do not answer simple email, could I expect them to answer a request for warranty help?)"

"I regularly buy USB adapters of various sorts from USB Gear. Most importantly for me, USB Gear tells me what chip is in the adapter so I can be sure the adapters I get will work with my application.
I order from USBGear and CoolGear several times per year and continue to be happy with the products and service.
On my last order I received the wrong part and USBGear shipped the correct part next day with a pre-paid return label for the incorrect part.

"We've purchased 4-5 USB serial ports from this company in the past month or two. These are for medical devices and we needed to meet specific specs. USB gear has an excellent selection and we found what we needed. All worked on arrival. Tech support was quick (overnight) and accurate when used 3 times. Shipping was immediate and for a fixed, inexpensive price.
The only drawback to this vendor is the limited online information concerning one's purchases and and the inabilty to reprint invoices.
I'd rate them 8/10

"This company clearly redefines "Customer Service". When I received a DOA unit and filled out the required web form (because you can't call them, they make that very clear) requesting a replacement unit I immediately received an email and voice mail explaining that the problem is in my computer and that they checked the unit on three different machines prior to shipping. How likely is that? The tone of the voice mail was belitteling and arrogant.
When my repeated request for a replacement wasn't even acknowledged I called my credit card company and took care of it on that end. That's when their tone changed from dismissive to insulting and threatening. Only when I guess it became clear that I will not budge I received a UPS return label. Originally I just wanted a replacement. Now they can keep their box, I have ordered a similar item elsewhere - after checking the ratings here.
The funny thing is that they even helped me with evidence against them since I have everything on voice mail and email. How silly is that. Needless to say, never again.

" WARNING DO NOT BUY FROM THEM! The worst online shopping experience I have ever had. They will ship defective products and charge you a restocking fee, then repeat the process with you or someone else. The worst customer service - can't be reached and when you do reach them they are very unfriendly."
