"As the company mobile phone administrator for Neave Landscaping, Inc. in Wappingers Falls, NY, I looked into possible ways to dispose of our broken iPhones. We use iPhones only and I had heard that there are companies that buy cracked or non-functional smartphones. We have about 25 iPhones on our mobile account and as a landscaping and design-build corporation our crew members break numerous, if not way too many, iPhones. Through my research I came upon Totem and their website made it incredibly simple to recycle old broken, smashed, cracked, water-logged or just non-functional iPhones, among other products. I made the website a “Favorite” and simply click on the icon on my web-browser and follow the simple instructions. Less than two minutes later I have email confirmation of my request; a couple days later I receive a box and bubble-wrap slip to put the broken iPhone into; a couple weeks later I get a check in the mail – love it! Sometimes I do not even know what type of phone (8GB, 16GB, etc.) that I am sending in or exactly what is wrong with said phone, but what I do know is that pretty soon I will be cashing a check from fair market price for a product that most others would just throw in the trash. If anyone ever tells me that they dropeed and broke their smartphone or it isn’t working and the manufacturer or their service provider cannot assist them, I tell them to at least sell it to Totem; they take most smartphones of various shapes, sizes and conditions. "My overall experience with HelloTotem has been excellent. I contacted the company on Wednesday, 6/26/13, and got a quote immediately which I accepted. Due to a slight delay, I received an emailed shipping label on Th6/27 and sent the phone and its accessories in their original packaging to them later the same day by USPS. It arrived at their company on M7/1 and I was alerted the next day that it had been inspected, approved, and payment was being processed on Tu7/2/13.
