Customer service reps need more training

"I placed 2 orders on black Friday. One order arrived within 3 business days as expected. The second order never arrived. I called a week after it was supposed to arrive and the rep said that fedex misplaced some packages and to please give my order 5 more business days. I gave it 7 more business days then called timberland for another update. This rep tells me the package never shipped out and they are out of the boots so I can either wait until they are available or I can get a refund in 5-7 business days. I opted for the refund. Most companies don't charge the customer until the item is ready to ship but timberland charges the customer immediately after order is placed whether they have the item or not and then never bothered to apologize or offer a discount on a future purchase for the severe delay. I also had to return the first order because it didn't fit correctly and it's been almost 3 weeks since I shipped the boots back and I still haven't received my refund. I recommend only purchasing their products from a store vs having to deal with the on-line shenanigans. "

Anthony was great

"I was looking around the store for fifteen minutes than I sat down ten minutes before anyone asked if I needed help.. Anthony came assisted me until I received everything I asked for with the smile n he looked until he found both boot n shoe for my big Pretty feet. I guess your coming back I just hope these boots don’t fall apart. Which my work boots had done in the past. I decide to give your another chance because Anthony worked hard for me and for once my size was in the back but you had it.. "

Poor customer service

"Ordered boots through the build your own boot program. When boots arrived the color was not close to what was shown online. When I brought this to Timberlands “customer service” attention with comparison photos, they responded after (2) days saying they felt the colors matched. When I responded that I disagreed, they never responded again. I am a lifelong wearer of Timberland clothing & foot wear and felt so dissapiinted that I was basically dismissed as a distraction.

I do not typically write reviews, but wanted other shoppers to be aware that Timberlands colors shown online are not accurate, and their customer service is certainly lacking. I used to view them in like LL Bean, but unfortunately they are not of that caliber.

They lost a LOYAL customer!

"I bought a pair of Timberland Pro boots for work.I paid close to $200 for these boots.The very last eyelet(by the toe)ripped right out when I went to lace them!!!I emailed Timberland about it and they said to basically take it up with the store!!The store didn't make the boots and I don't have a receipt no more so what can the store do?!I have always enjoyed and even bragged about how comfortable and everlasting Timberland boots were.I will NEVER buy a pair again and I will never recommend Timberland to anyone...and you don't care about customers...you just keep spinning them in circles!!!"

Timberland ****

"Bought the endurance work boot paid close to $200. Boot fell apart completely within three months. Sent the boot back for a warranty claim and instead of a replacement boot I was issued a gift card. Gift card did not even cover the cost of the boot nor did they refund shipping or sales tax. This process took about a month to complete.
Used the gift to purchase the ag boss boot and was sent the wrong item. Contacted customer service and was told the only choices I had was to return the boot again and wait another month for a refund. Or I could purchase another boot in the meantime and in about the month when the return was processed I would recieve another gift card for the boots I returned? REALLY?! So you want me to purchase another boot? I've gotten a boot that only lasted three months. Another boot that was not what I ordered and is too small. And another pair of boots that I really did not want! Timberland you have lost another loyal customer forever. No wonder your ratings have fallen so drastically. YOU ****! I am a business owner owner myself and allow a boot allowance to forty of my employees. In the past I have recommended timberland allowing them to purchase the boot online and I would reimburse the cost. Never again will timberland recieve this. I will join the rest of my fellow business owners and open an account with Redwing shoes. If your reading this review then you must all ready be skeptical of timberland. Follow your instincts and buy from a different company red wing is fantastic so is ariat and wolverine. You work hard for your money don't waste it on a company who does not have your interest in mind.

Terrible Customer Service

"I have been trying to send back a pair of boots since Christmas, its now the 25th January. I arranged twice for a pick up by their courier, stayed in all day and no-one came. I then drove a round trip of 20 miles to drop the boots at Collect+ store and that was a week ago – last Wednesday. As I had not had an acknowledgement that they had received the boots or a refund to my husbands account I sent an e mail chasing this on Saturday. Nobody has responded to that e mail. I look in my account today and still no refund so I have had to pay the credit card balance of £136 so i dont get charged interest. I have had to send another e mail today to request that this money is refunded to my husbands account. All I wanted to do was return a pair of boots bought on the internet. I have wasted I don’t know how much time staying at home waiting for couriers and writing e mails and chase ups, petrol and driving time, frustration and effort chasing this forwards and backwards and Timberland still have my husbands money. Will never order from them again

Thieves!

"Bought a pair of timberlands from timberland.com end of November for a Christmas gift. Used free return shipping because needed a different size. My husband called 2nd week of January to check on status and they said its processing. So called today Jan 23rd because still no refund and now they have no record of any boots being returned and say there is nothing they can do since we don't have a tracking number. And when I asked to speak to a manager I was told he will just tell you the same thing. What thieves these people are!!! Do Not order!!! Warning!!!!"

I TRIED TO MAKE AN ORDER, BUT IT SEEMS THAT FAILED, BUT THEY DEBITED MY ACCOUNT AND 8 DAYS LATER THEY DIDN´T RETURN MY MONEY,

"Hi I tried to make an order on the website www.timberland.pt. and the only thing I got was 121 € debited on my account, and no order, I spent money to call to the only number available for store support, and they have said that in 24h I would have my money back, this was at a few days ago, and until now I got 0€ back?
Since then they are saying that don´t find find my payment, but I already sent the proof of payment with card number, hour, day, value, everything that I could send an until now, nothing satisfactory, they don´t even care about the items that I was trying to order. Cold support client, I do not recommend to buy anything on timberland website. Beside that, the site is slow, and not intuitive, there is some difficulties in the filters the client can use. sheety website..

Do not shop at Timberland.com!!!!!!!!

"I purchased some 6 inch timbs for my husband for Christmas when they were at a sale price. Everything was good and on time. Turns out they didn't fit my husband and we had to return. They sent me a label and i returned January 4th 2016. It's now Feb. 4th and the money still hasn't been placed on my account. They say it takes like 2 weeks for them to receive and 2 weeks for (blah,blah blah) and 2 weeks for them to return money!!! Are they serious!? Customer service is the worst! they can't just exchange so i would now have to purchase at regular price. I also had a promo code which was applied but didn't show at the end. I can't express how upset and disappointed I am."

"Timberland is just bad in customer service and their website is terrible! Placed an order today and they charged shipping anyway while it should be free over $50! No such thing. Also emailed customer service and never got an answer. I chatted with them over a discount ( day after labor day sale) and they refused to apply the discount, they don't know sales and customer service at all. Stay away from them is my advice!!!

Here's an example from their customer service department:
"Thank you for your inquiry! The only order that I see under your email address was placed today? This is to far from the sale, and we are not authorized to post date sale prices at all! I am very sorry! Thank you, have a great day!"

This shows how far they are removed from a sales oriented company. Idiots!!!

"I purchased a pair of 6 inch Timberland Boots via their website. I have to say as a customer I am very disappointed with their customer service and providing customer satisfaction. I received a valid discount code through a trusted source and applied it to my order no problem. My order went through smoothly and was charged the full amount by Timberland. I even received an order confirmation number and two emails informing me that my order is being processed. Two days later I go to check my order status and it says that my order was cancelled. I was never informed that my order was cancelled by Timberland. I could have went weeks expecting a package with no information on the cancellation of my order. It is wrong on Timberland's end to cancel my order after I have been charged and confirmed of order processing because of a certain issue with discount codes. If Timberland does not want to provide validity of discount codes then they should do so before people process their order and guarantee order status for those who were able to utilize codes in the first place. I have purchased from other companies alike and have always been backed by the company if the issue is on their hands. Be aware that Timberland does not back customer satisfaction whatsoever. "

"The retailer participates in the ShopRunner program which provides a good incentive to shop there. I had free shipping and free returns so I would order a bunch of sizes and return the ones that didn't fit or didn't like. One time I placed an order of 15 shoes, and returned all of them because they didn't fit me.

Cons:
They don't do exchanges, only returns. So if you bought a shoe at some sale price and it doesn't fit you, then you might have to buy the next shoe at full price if it's not on sale anymore.
The return shipping is by USPS and there's no tracking number, so if it gets lost, then that'd be a big problem.
