"A very poor experience, ordered Photoshop CS2, at really good price, but that was all that was good. Downloaded the software, it never ran without activation, which failed everytime contacted Adobe upon activation, which was required at start up, they said it was pirated software. I sent E-mails to the support site for a week without any help, and then they deleted my E-mails and help records from the site. I am a twenty year computer tech. I can install software almost in my sleep, the support guy kept telling me I was making mistakes during install. I am out $265.00 and I can't do anything about it, write a note to warn others, these guys are crooks! "

"After reading the negative postings about this company I felt nervous about ordering my TurboTax software from them. My goal was to buy an older version of Turbo Tax Business so that I could become familiar with it in order to do our business taxes in 2006 instead of spending $500 on an accountant. I ordered the CD backup because I'm still on dial up and the total price was $27.49. I figured even if this was a pirated copy, as long as it worked I wasn't going to register it anyway and just wanted to become familiar with the product.

I did not receive my CD backup within the 13 day period and sent them an email advising them of such. They immediately contacted me, apologized, and told me a backup copy of the backup was on its way. I did get it within 4 days. I had no problems at all installing the software and it seems to work just fine!

I took a chance on this company and am completely satisfied. I understand that my situation may be unique, but I did not want to pay over $100 for something that I was not going to use professionally when I could get something cheaper.

"Don't Do It. Stay far away from these guys. They just refer you to another site to download the software which appears to be bogus. When you go to install it nothing happens. Fortunately I only got ripped off for a few dollars."

"STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!! I am a business professional and have purchased a copy of their OEM version of Studio 8 to develop my website. They never sent the product and don't even have a customer service phone number to handle customer problems. They seem like a "fly by night" sort of operation and can't be taken seriously. Now I've got to get them to either send the product or my money back. Either way, it's time spent that I don't have.

"They sold me a copy of Quickbooks Basic 2003 that had already been registered with Intuit and which was already the subject of an Intuit piracy investigation.

When I informed Tekdealers' support desk of this, they deleted all of my previous support ticket requests from their online support desk, which is the only point of contact.

Unfortunately for them (I hope), I had already provided Intuit's security people - who jumped my case when I tried to register the software sold by Tekdealers' - with all of the links the Tekdealers' had given me - including the link to download what Intuit said is a pirated copy of Quickbooks 2003.

Normally I check with sites like rellerratings.com before buying from an unknown online retailer. I didn't do so in this case and deeply regret my haste.

Now that I've done that research retrospectively, I find many, many warnings.

My trouble started when I went looking for an older version of Quickbooks (Basic 2003) which would be compatible with an the online e-commerce database used by several of my clients. I found Quickbooks 2003 for $18.95 at Tekdealers and too-quickly assumed the bargain was because it was three years old and in a surplus inventory.

I was wrong.

I installed and ran the software once, going through all the trouble to create a company in Quickbooks. When I opened Quickbooks a second time, it notified me that I had 13 more uses before mandatory online registration/activation of the software. I started the online registration process and as soon as I entered the product key code supplied to me by Tekdealers, I was directed to the Intuit piracy investigations office.

Intuit's investigator told me the copy that Tekdealers gave me was long-since registered by its original owner and has since been sold many times over.

Unless you really look forward to explaining yourself to the internal piracy police of a major software publisher, avoid Tekdealers like the plague.

"I purchased Quicken 2006 CD on 11-8-05 and as of 12-15-05 I still have not received the CD. I have sent them several e-mail asking when will I get the CD. All I get is we will send it. The only was to contact TekDeals is by e-mail. I WILL DEFINITELY NOT DO BUSINESS with this company again. Very poor customer service."

"Purchased Sony Movieblast Studio. Downloaded fine. Install was bugged and would not work. 5 e-mails and 1 week later no response at all besides the generic automated response. Called the number on my bank statement and get a generic voice mail. Again no response. STAY AWAY!

"I purchased Nero 7 via download from Tekdealers website and was given an activation code. I have later learned the TekDealers puts one copy of a software product on their website and provides one and only one product activation code/serial number to all who buy their cheap software. When a person tries to register their software attempting to get support, they are told someone else has registered that software. One will find that whether they buy Nero 6.6, Nero 7, Easy Creator 7.5 or 8.0 or Partition Magic or a host of others, one product activation code per product will be issued to all. Tekdealers claims this keeps the costs down and that you are buying for full installation only, no registration or support. You are out of luck ever getting any support from the manufacture of the software.

TekDealers also claims to "always answer every complaint" from its customers. That is absolutely untrue. If they don't like a complaint or question, they will simply delete it or ignore it. Dozens of customers have been through this mill.

They also claim their software in not "pirated" and that an "original" activation code is issued for each software product. Well yeah. Buying a backup CDROM means they copied most of the software onto CD's that may work or arrive cracked due to poor packaging.

Before purchasing their software, TekDealers makes you agree that you will never attempt to return or get a refund and that THEY will provide this agreement to your credit card company when you ask for a chargeback. Notice too that they issued a computer encrypted, randomly generated order number to each customer such as TZjHxNem8T-VQYA0D6ED431. So BUYER BEWARE.

Interestingly, TekDealers accuses me--without presenting a shread of evidence--of installing one piece of software on two computers and calling it illegal. Exactly what does TekDealers think it is doing by selling the same activation code per software product to everyone who purchases their software. They are, in effect, complicant in the placing of the same package of licensed software on hundreds of machines.

"STAY AWAY from these crooks and amateurs!!!
I downloaded software from them. It was corrupted and I couldn't install. The Live Help on their website is off all the time. They do not respond to emails for days and there is no other way of contactng them. They said their emails must have gone to my spam folder, but I checked, they were not there and how is it that I got some of them eventually? After I told them I would go after them via the credit card company they wrote back that they cancelled my order and will refund the money because I threatened them(!?). The software that eventually came in the mail (I paid extra to have a backup shipped to me) didn't even have the serial number and the one that was on invoice didn't work either!
They are either crooks or total amateurs (or both). Do yourself a favour and scrape a few more bucks and buy from a reputabe seller. If it looks too good to be true it usually is!

The publisher informed me that this was, in their words, "pirated" software that they do not support and that they were seeking legal resolution against this company.

I have demanded a refund from the reseller and will call CC company for charge back if not done in the next 24 hours.

"I have made two purchases from this web site in the last two weeks. Software was made available for download immediately after purchase. Prices were outstanding. My only small gripe, and this may be part of the problem with some other customers, is the first order I placed did not include a confirmation e-mail. My second order had a confirmation e-mail but not the first. If somebody carelessly closed the confirmation screen on the Web browser expecting to use the links in the e-mail, there might have been a problem. But you can bookmark the page and it remains up for 30 days after purchase and includes all the information and links that you need. Overall a very positive experience. "
