Techonweb's site does NOT specify whether their RAM is for notebook or desktop computers, and their customer service reps are downright rude, saying anyone should know the difference. "i was initially happy with techonweb.com - price was OK, delivery was fast, and i'd bookmarked them for future business. but they advertised rebates directly on their product pages that the manufacturer (netgear) said they weren't even allowed to offer!

after an extended e-mail run-around, my rebate status was eventually changed to "valid", but then the rebate service company (rebateshq.com, aka parago) claimed that i'd only sent in one UPC cut-out instead of two, even though i provided everyone involved (netgear, techonweb, and rebateshq.com/parago) with a link to a photograph that i'd taken of BOTH UPC codes, and the rebate form, just before putting them in the envelope.

the FTC states that the retailer is ultimately responsible for any advertised rebates.

"I have used Techonweb in the past with few problems. I recently found the printer I was looking for at a great price at Techonweb. Granted it wasn't the cheapest price, but it was located here in Texas, and I knew that I should get great service and fast shipping. The service, as expected, was great! My order shipped just under a days time, and came from a warehouse only 3 hours from my home. That is where the fun stopped, but this was NO fault of Techonweb. FEDEX GROUND! Need I say more? I received my printer after 5 days, and after I walked to the end of the block to pick it up from a neighbor's house. My suggestion, pay extra for a better shipping option, or encourage Techonweb to choose a different shipper. My rants continue with FedEx Ground services, but I will continue to do business with Techonweb. "
